*He needs professional medical help. Planes aren't buildings, and they shouldn't have been built to last. The life cycle of civil planes is roughly 30 years! Every plane has a timeline for all required maintenance according to the time it spends in the air. Did this 'Whistleblower' tell you that?*

Not likely, too inconvenient. Did it not strike you how convenient it was for the motel, John Barnett was found in the trunk of his Dodge Ram ? All the police had to do was collect his packed bags from his room, and take away the truck.
Falling down the stairs would make the building a crime scene, and a heart attack would imply an autopsy. As it was, the motel would simply give the room to the next customer.

Richard Feynman's approach to exposing these vital safety issues needs to be studied and implemented.
No-one could fail to understand his ice water demonstration of the Space Shuttle 'o' rings.
That is, a simple, visual approach that the layman can immediately understand.
Lastly, accountability, whether it leads to civil or criminal consequences, needs to be applied, from the Boardroom on down, and be seen to be done. Reward for whistle blowers should also be applied, with the same rigour.
Enough deception, sticking plasters and whitewash. People have behaved disgracefully, as well as some who have acted heriocally, and this needs to become headline news and easily accessed public knowledge. Do your jobs, with as much pride as the workers, "Executives".

Very sorry for Your loss. America's problem is Corporate greed, which as We see can be - deadly. The Billionaires don't care, as they have their own planes and could care less about the rest of Us. So, We struggle for survival & pray for Employee integrity& ethics. God Bless the honest Pilots, Navigators Attendants, who risk their lives, every day. The careless culture, starts at the top of the food chain - the Executives are accountable. ---------- Psalms 37.&91.

Was it the 737 Max? If so, it's worth noting that while the pilots didn't have much skills and willingness to live, if you will, they got into the loop of their's incorrect actions. Yet, there was still a solid chance for the plane to safely reach its destination by adhering to existing policies and procedures for emergency situations.

The problem with these airline incidents is that Boeing controls the FAA, the Department of Transportation, the NTSB and the TSA through corporate capture,. They are going to keep getting away with this stuff until we get a leader who will unravel corporate capture of government agencies and hold corporations accountable for their bad behavior. Biden is doing nothing. Trump did nothing. RFK Jr. is the ONLY candidate committed to fixing this and that is one of many reasons he has my vote.

Senator Johnson's a bit arrogant; he starts out saying there's a discrepancy between our two witnesses and yet later on when the one witness is explaining in detail. The manufacturing defect contributing to the crash of the 737 Max's Johnson interrupts him and tells him that's too much detail and it's lost on him. How? What is being explained to him? Is that the manufacturing or parts issue the detector is in addition to the design and emacass flaw. I actually just threw in the design flaw. They don't even get to that: that being the fact that 737 Max's our Frankenstein airplanes independent of everything else fundamentally aerodynamically flawed having been given a giant boob job with their engines, enlarged thrust together and forced upwards. Just like a boob job, it puts stress on the tailbone in a woman or not. The tailbone but the lumbar region so too it causes the plane to tilt upward the root of all these problems

The point not made, is the MCAS was not needed. From a pilot's point of view the 737 MAX was perfectly acceptable.
The only reason the MCAS was inserted, was to make the 737 MAX flight behavior appear to be like a Vintage 737, removing the need for training pilots using a flight simulator. The reason Boeing wanted to avoid training pilots, was to match the cross range compatibility of Air Bus planes

Boeing makes money from both the civilian world, and the “US Government world”. Interesting theory: ever since Raytheon, General Dynamics, Lockheed, etc- and specifically SpaceX- has been adding much more to Boeing’s competition, I wonder if they’ve shifted more of their focus (financial and diligence) to the military sector, taking away from the civilian sector. ….🤔 I’m also sure the DEI bureaucracy has negatively contributed to the lack of diligence and funding to repairs and upgrades made to the civilian sector planes.

You shim the gaps to prevent stress corrosion. But materials have a threshold stress for stress corrosion. If the stress you're creating by preloading the part is below that threshold and also doesn't add to some operating stress and create a negative margin then you're fine. Also, there is conservatism in the design. And that's why they can test the thing to five lifetimes and it's still fine. But if a mechanic does want to deviate from established procedures then they really should get an OK from Stress - especially if this problem is coming up a lot.

Even with the 737MAX, the very first crew (Malaysia Airlines) did a great job regaining control of the plane by following existing (!!!) procedures; they made it safe! Unfortunately, the subsequent crew got stuck in a loop of wrong decisions and actions, leading to a crash. The same happened with the crew from Ethiopia. The human factor plays a significant role in 9 out of 10 cases. You're safe!
