Powder gangers for me are an example of "If it aint broken, dont fix it. I actually really like their style. They wear retro-prison uniforms. Bright Orange wasnt a prison uniform style common till the 70s. And since they are clearly post-great war, made by the NCR, I dont think they would break the bank but instead make rather cost efficent prison jumpsuits out of cotton, with cheap dyes.
@@АлексейСвиридов-у9оObsidian clearly follows the divergence idea, lol. Look at the NCR's outfits, they're hardly modern. Trenchcoats, pith-styled helmets, P1903-inspired bandoliers, etc. Look at how everyone in New Vegas dresses. The Powder Ganger outfits fit with the aesthetic of New Vegas
@@jonger2408 NCR have such crappy uniforms because this is the only type of uniform that they are able to produce en masse, not because they want to larp some old-ahh times. Fallout world is constantly evolving even if bethesda wants you to believe that it's not. You can trace it since the very first game. In first fallout trade is quite evolved already: caravans even go to underdeveloped shitholes like necropolis but ncr is just on roadside of all trade because of its inconvenient placement behind huge mountain range and status of very young settlement that still struggles for survival. In fallout 2 ncr becomes a powerful and influential city-state with army and law enforcement and it participates in a nasty struggle for influence over redding's mines against New Reno crime families and zealous vault city that quickly got on its feet by use of slave labour provided by slavers guild in The Den. And by events of New Vegas NCR controls all lands of modern California with some of nevada including mentioned New Reno, Vault city and of course Redding. This is how NCR evolved from primitive village to a powerful state and serves as great example how world of true fallout is evolving and don't just stand on one place. Also there is a plethora of modern equipment in this setting like marksman carbine in New Vegas or P90 in Fallout 2 and it all easily produced by gunrunners that existed since fallout 1 and grown to be NCR's defense contractor in New Vegas.
Honestly I don't think powder gangers should get orange jumpsuits. The Fallout universe has a consistent design choice of 50s retro-futurism and prisoners usually wore blue in the 50s.
Agree, I believe their look is spot on, maybe some more simple variations of the already existing style would've sufficed, I like the idea of them using scavenged parts from the NCR troopers and prison guards (although we never see any guards in-game) I feel like the more stuff they scavenged should = veterancy, e.g more kills and status as long surviving members.
For anyone new to modding The Inheritance is part of The Someguy series of mods which includes New Vegas Bounties. They are all pretty good and (mostly) feel like organic additions to the base game. In Fallout New Caifornia, they have a pretty unique take on the Vipers with new armors and weapons, i dont think they are placed around the Mojave though.
If they are in bone armours, have venom tipped weapons and still worshipping snakes - vipers, then it's lore friendly. If they have some kind of shaman leader, then that's lore friendly too. The bone armour mod is pretty much exactly how Vipers should of looked in first place. Just gonna put this out there cause itll go well with all these mods, the realistic bullet damage mod transforms this game to a whole new experience, usually one to two shots with most weapons will take out your enemies, but itll also take you out as well, makes the firefights very short but extremely intense, not for everyone but its worth a try, totally changes the pace, and makes every little fight you get into something you need to plan for, or something youll be hard pressed to escape from, like getting the drop on a group of fiends for example with a full auto is guaranteed to satisfy, but at the same time, if youre not paying attention to your surroundings, youll get what Wild Bill Hickok got

Definitely questline like that just stands to reason. Of course raider gangs that aren't allied are going to compete for turf, supply line ambush spots for caravans. Food and water sources etc. I reckon a quest line specific to each tribe, gang would be essential. Like the shaman of the Vipers could send you on some Viper style vision quest. And give you some special venom perks or viper trait perks when you come back successful. Jackals , you could be sent to kidnap people , whole families for "meat" for rest of the tribe. Like the freaks from Andale basically do, but way more full on raider style , with all the aggression, violence added . That quest could get really gory , that questline could get really good if you are into the brutal side of things. You could pick the wrong people to kidnap and have a real fight on your hands ,if they wanted to take revenge on the rest of the Jackals. There's a ton of great potential and ideas for raider gang quests.just need the passion for it and a little imagination yeah?
@@colddaze6680 Yes, I would prefer quests where the tribes' lore is expanded or explained. There could also be quests with interaction between them, or for the legion, in which you could recruit them or simply exterminate them, since for the legion they are degenerate. There could be a quest in which the NCR or the Crimson Caravan investigated the disappearance of the caravans and you would have to infiltrate the Jackals to be able to free the survivors. Endless options.
@@Lcs546 Yeah all those good ideas too. Shit a couple of long time fans like us could write decent quests and lore friendly quests all day I think, maybe we should get jobs at Bethesda lol? I get the feeling you are really into the Legion, just saying 😏 That's cool I'm more a Khan or Viper, maybe a Jackal or a chem head Fiend , at least one run through. Definitely wanted to join Khans in FNV. Closest thing you got to it was wearing their colours and doing drug runs and selling and buying chems from Jack and Diane. Close ,but not an official member. I kept their colours on for one character and pretended I was a full member anyway, and set up home in one of their tents. Getting attacked by NCR on sight every time I was dressed like a Khan ,which was all the time, was pretty immersive I suppose lol.
@@colddaze6680 Haha. We certainly got good ideas, or at least better ones than theirs if we worked there. No bro, I'm not a fan of the legion. The only thing that bothers me about them is the fact that there isn't much content related to them in the game. If compared to the other factions, it is very little. My favorite faction is the followers of the apocalypse. I believe in their work hehe. And thank God Bethesda has ignored them until now.
I think there’s something about the raider gangs of nv that makes them different from the other games, that they don’t actually feel like raiders but their own distinct gangs and factions
What I recall theres an actual Raider in New Vegas just outside Novac that either Boone or Manny killed, literally just a fiend with a different name but nonetheless
I think its good that powder gangers seem a bit more organized and less brutal than raiders and fiends. Being ex cons, they would be more likely to organize, and their protection racket thing is also very much somerhing common in prisons. Fiends should have been a bit less organized and more brutal, using mostly melee weapons and common guns, given the fact they're just chem fiends. Raiders on the other hand should've been rarer. Given the presence of the NCR, the Khans and the Legion. Thos should filter out the smaller and less organized raiders, leaving only the more coordinated and larger gangs, with the ocasional opportunistic criminal and crazy survivalist raider here and there.
I think I'd only go for a mod that puts the Powder Gangers in jumpsuits if it was just a few of them and not all of them. If they overtook a prison, they'd have access to the guards armoury, including their uniforms and stuff, so having them dressed like that works, but maybe not all of them would wanna change outfit. There could also be variants of the shirtless ones that have the jumpsuits but didn't put the top half of the jumpsuits on, and they'd just be tied around the waist or hanging freely around the waist. Edit: At least, I always assumed they were wearing guard uniforms, given the colours.
I just found out if you use both more believable powder gangers and powder ganger orange jumpsuit it will re-skin the convex and Prim to have the orange jumpsuit mod version (the one with the Sierra Madre armor)
Agreed I wish they had fleshed out the Raider factions a lot more in New Vegas, I know you had the drug mule quest for the Khans working with the fiends, but I would have loved to side with the Raiders. My gal was a hockey mask wearing, chainsaw wielding drug using lunatic, she would have fit in beautifully, so instead I chose the Legion, though I definitely did not fit in 😂. Still that freedom not to be trapped between NCR/Legion/Yes Man, was why I was so ecstatic when the Fallout 4 Nuka World dlc came out (different game obv). It was a dream come true and the fact that I could spread out into the wasteland and take those Raiders with me as Raider Overboss ‘Chefs kiss’ that was something I wish they could have done with New Vegas. Regardless, New Vegas is still a great game, and I’m happy we have the Legion (although I still grumble that they should have had a ‘Boone’ Equivalent companion for the Legion that hunts the NCR on sight, much like he does with the Legion, (maybe even Vulpes) but maybe had said companion go back to the Legion camp) either way as a real life resident of Las Vegas, I approve 😬
It's the 3rd video I'm watching from your channel I liked them good job. However, about Khans not being tough enough, I think that's normal difficulty issue. I always played at hard and they seem to be tough enough, tho I'll try the mods you enlisted. Nice work on vanilla graphics enhancement video btw
FYI, the mod cooks castle causes lots of crashes for me when I’m in fiend territory. Granted I’m using lots of mods (mostly the ones recommended by MM). But I have had no other crashes with my 200 mod list besides this, so I had to remove it unfortunately. Removing it fixed the issue
Thanks, was looking for mods to enhance FNV to do a playthrough with guns while playing through BG3. Tried playing a few months ago but got bored of vanilla pretty fast as been there done that.
Have you or the modders never seen California prison garbs? Both old or new? They're historically blue. I do not like the orange outfit at all, that color is more common in East Coast prisons. Obsidian chose the blue color of the powder gangers as a conscious deliberate decision. The blue clothes wasn't stolen gear, it's outdoor and indoor clothing such as the jacket.
Have you thought about doing a Tale of Two Wastelands mod compilation? Would love to hear your opinions on some of the sub mods. Plus I kinda need a good combat overhaul, lol
Huh - I've always wondered why the factions and relating quests seemed so minimal. They seemed like a missed opportunity. Now I know why... corporate timelines.

Thanks a lot for this vid!
I love that I think I'm hearing mercenaries 2 ost in this video.
Also, I love your comment guidelines, it fits with who I think you are. Lol
For anyone who still wants to add more to the powder gangers Kvatchcount the creator of the NCRF encounter mod also has mods that add in ghoul supermutant and female powder gangers these even include new voice lines and outfits! He also has a mod adding several new types of powder ganger enemies!
I absolutely love this channel for bringing to light some of these phenomenal mods and showcasing those kickass modders!! Really looking forward to seeing future mod showcases!
0:01 dude has his barehand onna burn barrel puking. Do you know how hot that can get?
Now we need a bunch of quests for every group.
Maybe some war for territory with other gangs, or other stuff like that.
Great idea!
And thank God Bethesda has ignored them until now.
all the mod channels seem to be drying up glad MM is going strong. awesome video, great info.
What other NV mod channels are our there?
Never gonna stop bro. After I’ve explored New Vegas, maybe a good game would actually f*ckin finally drop them I could mod that as well.
I think there’s something about the raider gangs of nv that makes them different from the other games, that they don’t actually feel like raiders but their own distinct gangs and factions
The Inheritance is a good mod, got it in my loadout as we speak, though i never had a hostage sitch to deal with.
What I recall theres an actual Raider in New Vegas just outside Novac that either Boone or Manny killed, literally just a fiend with a different name but nonetheless

“Pack of drugged out killers”1:26
NPCs cant use aid items1:34
You should consider making a ‘collection’ of all these mods on the nexus. Great vid!
Actively trying to make a load order that consists of every mod you've suggested for FNV
"This may just be the jet talking, but I really wanna kill you right now." lmao
I wish this stuff was in vanilla NV especially the bows. I’d play new Vegas everyday for years
this mod list is awesome
more unique raiders always
I'm always excited when I see a new video from you.
Happy to hear that!
Been waiting for this one. Thanks king.
I love the different factions of raiders. Bethesda learned that too late in fallout 4 with the dlc
Great video as always!
I just found out if you use both more believable powder gangers and powder ganger orange jumpsuit it will re-skin the convex and Prim to have the orange jumpsuit mod version (the one with the Sierra Madre armor)
14:59
lets overhaul the creatures in the next video
next video: gunplay overhaul
Next video in this series. Gunplay video is part of another series.
Let's goooooooo MUTANT MODS new video, this is a great day
3:25 the clipping 😆
Why does it happen?
@@Mutant_Mods It's mostly has to do with how the engine renders 2 objects at the same time.
I love that you use the Sonora soundtrack
Finally! some lore-freindly mods! I absolutely hate horny mods in Fallout (I dont mind it in Skyrim lol)
Wooo Combat Sex!
if I was tripping all the time, I wouldn't wear a goddamn skull. freakout central
Thank you so much for the video
I miss this game 😭
10:32 dude that's just Chance the Rapper
Pls make more lore friendly mod lists like this ❤❤❤
I didn't even realize those last two were factions
9:28 Arthur is that you?
Now I gotta edit the mod list and start a raider playthrough
Imagine thinking Raiders is a faction and not a social class in post-apocalypsis
It Will be only a little easy to kill them
Btw if anyone has a problem with raiders from Mojave raiders wearing the new armors than delete the esp
Well,well,well,its Sonora/Nevada ost.Awesome!
At least New Vegas actually HAD raider factions. Not just generic “raiders”.
Another day in this man's glorious army.
Damn those were some good looking armors.
Always on the lookout for some more cannon fodder
Finally some quality content
I know right
"You call that lore friendly "
OH MY GOD YESS!!! Been wanting something like this
An update for those who Lively Joe and Friends and has other Lively mods, check out the Super Lively mods from the same author who put these mods into one mod as a way to free up space in your mod lists and not surpass the 255 limit so quickly, at the time of me typing this there's two super lively mods out now on the nexus.
You should make a mod pack for all for of these videos or just the mod list order to use the all the mods in these 4 videos
13:29. Wish they had Mongol Yurts and Plains Tribes Teepees.
Very accurate to real life Las Vegas
been needing a reason to replay new vegas
Dude what is letting me baffled is how many role playing animations you have, from the use of items, to the letter you deliver and the NPC reading it or the cherry on top of the cake the severed head of Cook-Cook . Dude which mods are those?
Does that mean that if you don't stealthkill the fiends they will power up with their own drugs instead? Don't wanna see how turbo works when you are on the recieving end of it. Also the legendary bloatfly is even more scary now
