Legion, Legion needs the overhaul the most. In my last playthrough, Vulpes tripped on a static object and exploded into pieces, welp, there goes a third of the legion quests, of what little they have.
Yes I am aware of the Nexus. However at the end of the video, Mutant_Mods asks the audience which faction they would like to see overhauled. I would like to see what combination of mods he would pick to overhaul the Legion.
The Followers. In Fallout 1 they were so badass, helping the Vault Dweller infiltrate the Cathedral thanks to an undercover Followers agent and otherwise gaining control of the L.A. Boneyards by the end of the game. A major faction like that that's been around longer than the NCR has existed is definitely overdue for an overhaul, especially since most faction overhaul mods tend to focus on most factions that AREN'T the Followers.
I am incessantly let down by the NV Followers. I've never played the classic games, but even still, I feel like the game is very inconsistent with them. On the one hand, the followers are successful enough to have this big base of operations and an outpost, sprinkle missionaries throughout the wastes, they make an attempt on House's network (an entirely futile attempt, but still), and they lead Veronica to question her own faction. Yet, even with all the support of the courier available, the independent ending always ends with Vegas in chaos and the followers overwhelmed. And, idk, I guess that's something to be said of the nature of their philosophies, and anarchy at large in a way. It just feels incomplete tho. You can have so much variation in an NCR or House victory, and even to a lesser extent with the Legion. But independent playthroughs always feel the same at the end cards, whether you were a saint or a butcher. Maybe I just have too much faith in them, idk 🤷♀️
Personally I kinda like that aspect of west coast fallout. It isn’t static, but rather ever changing. The followers and brotherhood were a big deal in Fallout 1, but it’s been well over a hundred years since then and we can’t expect that would necessarily stay the same. For the brotherhood they fell because of their isolationism and xenophobia, whereas I think the followers started stumbling because of their devotion to their ideas spreading them too far, making them ill equipped to push back against the NCR. Just my feelings though.

Yeah. The Legion are irredeemably evil (slavery and crucifixion,) but I’d like there to be more to them so they’re at least interesting bad guys. One mod I like (although I’d imagine it would be more annoying if officially in the game) is one that limits NCR merchants and Legion merchants to accepting only their factions currencies. And there’s some slaver Legion quest mod out there, too. Time and budget cuts be a bitch.
Issue with retexturing bark scorpions like that, the vanilla textures are how those scorpions look irl, though some bark scorpions are light brown with black stripes.
My favourite faction from FNV is the Followers of the Apocalypse. They're supposed to be all over the place contributing to research and efforts to better the wasteland but as far as I know you can only find evidence of them at Helios 1 and in Freeside
The feral ghouls in rags or naked makes more sense. These guys are wandering around for decades.....clothes wear out pretty fast if you use them everyday without changing them.
Not only did the Chosen one destroy the biggest nest but the Wanamingos also had a built in genetic death switch that basically ensured they died shortly after the events of Fallout 2. I think the creator of Fallout 2 said that in an interview.
I hate to bust your balls about the feral ghoul re-texture, but everything about them exists for a reason. Starting with the fact that most of them are 200+ years old, stemming from the great war. Ergo, effects of said war would probably be permanently affixed to their bodies. Such as their blank white soulless eyes. They were likely blinded by the flash of the nuclear hellfire, or their eyes melted in the aftermath along with the rest of their physical being. Following with their lack of garments. You don't see a lot of pre-war store mannequins still wearing clothing after 200+ years do you? No, cause clothing just straight up doesn't last that long against the elements. Not to mention they could have easily just been burned up in the nuclear hellfire 200+ years ago. Feral ghouls wandering around the wastes after 200+ years in the same outfit aren't going to be much different. Everything about them is meant to be there. You just have to pause and think about it.
The idea that a feral ghoul... a *human* being, could survive 200+ years as a mindless animal? Yeah, that's not happening. Even with radiation immunity, they are absolutely gonna end up as lunch well before their first year. Our species is simply not equipped with the biological tools necessary to survive without our intelligence.

Choosing to model every Super Mutant after Harry who is meant to be a fuck up even among Super Mutants sure is an odd choice that I for the life of me don’t understand why you’d go with. The base game ones texturing sure needs some help but I think the modeling was actually spot on in vanilla being a sort of average between the Lieutenant and Marcus.

The most compelling argument I've heard about gouls is that it's both, searchlight for example has gouls made entirely due to radiation, unless FEV is in every human somewhat and radiation just completes which doesn't appear anywhere that I know of. While Harold is made from FEV.
IIRC part of the reason the Enclave wanted to wipe out everyone at the end of Fallout 2 was because everything living on the surface (IE: anyone who wasn't an Enclave citizen or a Vault Dweller still in a Vault) was, by that point, infected with FEV to some extent - which is also why they kidnapped everyone still in Vault 13 at the beginning of the game, to use them as "control" samples. That being said though, I believe ghoulification IS completely tied to radiation exposure, with FEV not really being a factor. You could argue that FEV exposure gives someone a higher _chance_ to become a ghoul, but I don't think it _causes_ it.
I love for you to cover mods to imoprove ceasar legion as a faction! Im not even a legion fanboy, but its such a shame how much was cut with the legion and it would be really nice with a video showcasing mods that bring that type of content back making a legion playthrough more diverse/ interesting.
The marked men most likely killed the women to prevent fights over them and for food, that’s why we don’t see any Marked Woman in the Lonesome Road DLC.

I think out of all of these the only one I disliked was changing the Bark Scorpion to black. They are real and native to Texas where I live and you’re right, they do kind of look like fried chicken!

I have played, beaten, overpowered, and played every fallout 4 DLC, and sadly, when i want to play fallout, i ALWAYS return to fallout 3 or new vegas. I dont like how Fallout 4 graphics are, but, the engine used for f3 and Fnv, was *chefs kiss* amazing.
This video was great! I even discovered some really cool mods by the creator of the female marked men mod. One of which added super mutants as members of various factions like the NCR and powder gangers, overall very cool! Kvatchcount also has some neat legion and NCR npc mods that I hope to see in your upcoming faction overhaul videos.

I bought new Vegas on pc only because of you and you’re amazing and high quality videos. I already got it on Xbox x but I had to experience these mods first hand
my biggest gripe with a lot of these mods is the lack of animations, especially on the centaurs. I understand how difficult animating all of those parts would be, but it would really make them look actually scary. I can imagine the two-headed centaur having the human head breathing slow and heavy while the dog head pants and groans.
Man I was literally just ranting to my friends about how the creatures in NV were so lacking. Seeing the centaur variants is making me so damn happy. Amazing mod.

Generally you want to chose 1 mod to change the 1 thing about the game you want changed. Never pick two mods that do the same thing of edit the same location, weapons, npcs, etc. that way you’ll be safe no matter what. Broken mods are rare. To make sure a mod is safe and suitable for you, always read the posts, description, and bugs sections.

My only complaint with "horrors of the new West" was when they changed the eyes. Keeping the look of the OG clay model is why I liked it and the eyes were the main reason I liked the clay model. Gave it a creepy vibe, alongside the rest of its monstrous shape. 10:26 And now I'm thinking about reading Jojolion. The textures make their skin look a bit too rough, but the horns are a nice touch.

I think out of all of these the only one I disliked was changing the Bark Scorpion to black. They are real and native to Texas where I live and you’re right, they do kind of look like fried chicken!

I hope your next mod showcase for fallout New Vegas is either a faction expansion mods (in particular the legion if you only do one faction) or a high-quality quest mod showcase, but at the end of the day do whatever you want. You are the best be safe and have fun.
Id like to see a gameplay mod list too, random encounters roaming patrols etc. but all vanilla+. Great mod lists cant wait to try all these mods in this series
"Why are ghouls naked?" It's hard to keep your armor on when your skin sloughs off.

I have played, beaten, overpowered, and played every fallout 4 DLC, and sadly, when i want to play fallout, i ALWAYS return to fallout 3 or new vegas. I dont like how Fallout 4 graphics are, but, the engine used for f3 and Fnv, was *chefs kiss* amazing.
I wanna see some power armor mods in the future other than that great video mutant mods
This video was great! I even discovered some really cool mods by the creator of the female marked men mod. One of which added super mutants as members of various factions like the NCR and powder gangers, overall very cool!
Kvatchcount also has some neat legion and NCR npc mods that I hope to see in your upcoming faction overhaul videos.

I bought new Vegas on pc only because of you and you’re amazing and high quality videos. I already got it on Xbox x but I had to experience these mods first hand
my biggest gripe with a lot of these mods is the lack of animations, especially on the centaurs. I understand how difficult animating all of those parts would be, but it would really make them look actually scary. I can imagine the two-headed centaur having the human head breathing slow and heavy while the dog head pants and groans.
Man I was literally just ranting to my friends about how the creatures in NV were so lacking. Seeing the centaur variants is making me so damn happy. Amazing mod.

I've been modding new vegas for four days now . I didn't learn until VNV until the 2ndday, so I had to restart . I am going through all your vids and trying to install the mods ive picked in the order on your lists . theres so many videos and different lists and I don't know how to patch yet lmao but oooooo I am excited
Generally you want to chose 1 mod to change the 1 thing about the game you want changed. Never pick two mods that do the same thing of edit the same location, weapons, npcs, etc. that way you’ll be safe no matter what. Broken mods are rare. To make sure a mod is safe and suitable for you, always read the posts, description, and bugs sections.

Yeah but I was more talking about design choices. Bethesda didn’t like SMs being like humans, they just want them to be another animal the player can gun down for fun.
As someone who’s always in moderate to excruciating pain particularly while walking I have learned to suppress showing it in order to be able to do stuff like go to the store or be in public I can’t talk to people but I can look normal
My only complaint with "horrors of the new West" was when they changed the eyes. Keeping the look of the OG clay model is why I liked it and the eyes were the main reason I liked the clay model. Gave it a creepy vibe, alongside the rest of its monstrous shape.
