My family is dysfunctional. One day it was different, I was sitting with my parents and casually chatting, we were laughing, everything seemed "normal". We decided to play a music channel on the TV and while I was looking for some music I came across this song and video, I immediately liked it and turned on Shazam to find it. This song now and always will remind me of that day when it seemed like we were a normal family, a day when there was no yelling and no fighting.

i was just thinking that as i watched, stoned and drunk out of my brain. but it's just so good, even to someone like me who likes new music. this is just tops, shame it's not up there in the pop echelons. but that goes for a number of his songs, especially the heartbreaking madeline dietrich song, that song is a tear jerker
Was thrilled when I met Peter in the late 80s when I worked at a local radio station. He's very slight man, I was taken aback - they always look larger than life on TV/on screen! Very soft, deep voice, not showy at all. Just showed up at the station all alone, no entourage or anything. Made me love him even more! I was never a huge Bauhaus fan, but I do remember listening to his CDs from around that time over and over, great memories.
It was too risky, too intense, to challenging for the commercial radio monied interest to play back in the day. Now it is a safe choice, a commercial win. Underground artists forever.
I will never ever understand,why this was not a great Hit back then. Everything is perfect, the Sound,the Song, the athmosfere...a Masterpiece of dark romantic an melancholia.
A guy in my USMC barracks bought this album when it came out, hated it and tossed it in the trash. I picked it out and listened for the hell of it, just one listen. Still one of my go-to albums to date and, I think his best.

What aggravates me is you listen to these “all 80’s stations “ and all you hear is the same pop junk. Great music like this is too dark I guess. Personally I could listen to this every friggin day!!

I remember driving home from work one day and I heard this song on the radio. It made a huge impression on me. I loved it. I felt like life itself was the one that was cutting me and I needed to break through the barriers to succeed. I did it and now I'm so happy for this song and always will be grateful.

I saw Peter Murphy 3 times back in the day, at clubs in Florida. I don't think I've ever seen anyone that sounds as good live as he did. Amazing voice!! So cool. Great memories!
