the lyrics “it’s such a waste when little girls grow into their mother’s face, but little girls are learning how to cut and paste” really got me in the feels. because if you think about it we do reassemble our parents and i don’t think anyone thinks their mom is ugly but we still dislike our faces and want to change them. it’s really deep
I don't look like any of my parents, when I was born my whole family thought that I was a monkey and I was born with some hair but it was really thick. I would also always try to climb up my family members and Walls 😂 I'm still a weird kid and I still don't resemble anyone other than a monkey or chimpanzee

"She just got done changing for him." I think that's the biggest lesson she's trying to teach. I don't think it's necessarily anti plastic surgery in general. I think it's more about not changing just to please other people or society. I'm really glad you gave her a try. If you're wanting to continue the journey, I'd recommend Dollhouse next. It's also got a pretty deep message. One thing I think should be pointed out is that the album that features this song "Cry Baby" is very much a concept album. Yeah, as others have said it's not about actual surgery, it's about a few things. Changing yourself for others for one. It's a waste, the song says, because once someone has that kind of power over you, they're likely just to throw you away. But also the whole idea of artiface. About how beauty basically means artificial to a lot of people.
Don't let the BS comments get to your heart. First of all: you are gorgeous, i mean, look at your face man, you are beautiful. Second: your voice is amazing. Third: what you wear, how your Hair looks or if a hair in your beard is too long should not matter, we should all be here for your opinion and view on the songs. Even If it doesn't go with our opinion, we need to listen to different opinions to get out of our bubbles. And last of all: I really like what you had to say, and you got me to think about some points I haven't thought about before, so thanks for your reaction. PS. the reason the surgeon was a bunny/rabbit is because when she was younger she had a pet bunny but her parents had to kill it because they were moving and couldn’t take him/her with them. melanie writes/helps write all of her songs and they are all about her childhood
What really upsets me in this clip, is that the girl is already so beautiful. She doesn't need a facelift or bigger boobs, she's amazing just how she is naturally. But because Mr Potatohead wants her to get a facelift, she agrees. The result is devastating. What was supposed to make her beautiful only took away the beauty she had, and when the bandages are removed, he is shocked and she is now disgusted by her looks. They try to fix it with a wig and lipstick, but the despair on her face can't be hidden. She lost her beauty forever. And then she looks out the window to see him dating a new girl. That part is heartbreaking! She lost her beauty, so she lost him too. She hates what she has become and feels worthless, with no way of getting herself back. She's basically left with nothing, and no hope of it ever getting better again.
Honestly wasn't sure of who you are or what your reaction would be to this song, but you didn't let me down! Hello honestly I don't really comment much but I thought that this was worth while mentioning... I enjoy the way you do your commentary because it is a genuine reaction (of course I also love commentary that has been scripted) but I just thought that your commentary is interesting , because although you don't comment much when you watch the video but then you pause and analyse the lyrics which in my opinion is much better than just commenting on small details for the sake of breaking the silence when you're watching something which alot of reaction youtubers tend to do (not hating on any youtubers who do do that though). I think you should keep up the good work this the first video of yours that I'm watching (I'm now a subscriber) also I think just any melanie martinez songs have a really deep meaning to them and they all have strong imagery which makes you interested in them but I would recommend k-12 in general (any song from the album/movie) because they are all on really touchy subjects that are very relevant but she depicts the matters very well And to anyone who has bothered to read this comment I hope you have a nice day, remember to social distance and stay safe among the current crisis :)

melamine's crybaby album is about a character named crybaby (aka melanie) and her life growing up in a horrible family. K-12 that was recently released last year is about what kids go though and mainly about school. if i got any of this wrong please lmk
Tbh I’ve always wanted to get my face fixed to look better and now that I’ve actually thought about it realizing if I ever got it I’d hate myself for it because I would’ve known it wasn’t the real me and not how I actually look that I’m practically fake.
after she takes off the bandages, she looks almost sickly, and a little starved and ... my thoughts exactly when he said "that SOB" when he cheated on her after she went through all that shit and notice how at the end of it all she has almost no confidence, when at the beginning of it she was overflowing with it
You should watch orange juice and strawberry shortcake by melanie as them songs are about body image and eating disorders and how there's a meaning behind it on how you should love yourself :)
Just a note you need a balance of fats, proteins and carbohydrates. Added sugars aren't great but you do need carbs to be healthy. The best rule of thumb I've seen is, 'Eat a variety of things, not to much of any one thing, mostly vegetables.'
Melanie is my favorite singer for many reasons, she writes and directs her own songs, they are original and they have a good meaning. Other songs like this are Dollhouse; Orange Juice, Strawberry Shortcake, and many more
Don’t care about what people think because you will be hatted no matter what when your pretty when ur “uGly” skinny, and fat. But it doesn’t matter the way you look. It matter what actions you take. Everyone always wants to fix there face or body to get the word pretty, but pretty is JUST A WORD. Because you are that 100% that are beautiful, because everyone is beautiful! Just the way you are
Melanie's songs have a message or are about the true reality of the world, I listen to the songs very carefully for example teacher's let is about a girl who got caught up with a teacher and started doing sexaul stuff with the teacher and became a teacher's pet, that is true reality there.
My first time too hearing this artist. Although I didn't care for it, I really did enjoy your discussion about the subject matter. And, he'll yeah, Nip Tuck... I loved that show. Lol. It's on Hulu now, so maybe I'll watch it again someday. 😁
Her lyrics are soo good. I love her music because she is real with everything. Like “girls learning to cut and paste” I think it’s showing that a new generation girls are learning that there not good enough because of social media. And there doing things that could hurt them or there changing in ways they don’t want to do.
Two things 1) i personally think that this just goes to show that you don't have to fix something that isn't broken 2) this is one of those songs that teaches a lesson with the weight and heaviness that is felt in the real world
I really like melanie martinez i love all her songs and i am a person who make them self stand out like i have reallt long hair like way down my back and i have blue, black, purple and greenishblue soon to be all blue hair and a side shave and i were dark clothes and im a goth sooo yah and im 14. I got bullied for quite a while in my secondary school but i managed to tell my mum and she went ballistic and now no one bullies me and they cant cos of quarantine Edit: im wondering it you could react to comments. you ofcourse don't have to.
I would argue that even if one claims that they don't care about looks, you always act a certain way towards others and there is always an aesthetic you try to follow.
the lyrics “it’s such a waste when little girls grow into their mother’s face, but little girls are learning how to cut and paste” really got me in the feels. because if you think about it we do reassemble our parents and i don’t think anyone thinks their mom is ugly but we still dislike our faces and want to change them. it’s really deep

Tbh I’ve always wanted to get my face fixed to look better and now that I’ve actually thought about it realizing if I ever got it I’d hate myself for it because I would’ve known it wasn’t the real me and not how I actually look that I’m practically fake.
after she takes off the bandages, she looks almost sickly, and a little starved
and ... my thoughts exactly when he said "that SOB" when he cheated on her after she went through all that shit
and notice how at the end of it all she has almost no confidence, when at the beginning of it she was overflowing with it
4.55 they aren't necessarily to cover what you look like, sometime they are to compliment just like the song says.
probably her best song, objectively
You should watch orange juice and strawberry shortcake by melanie as them songs are about body image and eating disorders and how there's a meaning behind it on how you should love yourself :)
Another Melanie Martinez song that is a good one is "Show and Tell"
So glad I found your channel
On the thumbnail I first read "Irish reacts Mrs. Potato Head"
“will a pretty face make it better?” ALWAYS gets me good like I hate that I can relate yk
Other songs like this are Dollhouse; Orange Juice, Strawberry Shortcake, and many more
Me a master of edge because like every other person I went through that phase: Ah, Melanie Martinez... Yes yes, How lovely~
Just the way you are
I was waiting for him to say "It doesn't matter how you look. You all look perfect just the way you guys are." (No Hate).
I get chills every time I hear this song
Melanie's songs have a message or are about the true reality of the world, I listen to the songs very carefully for example teacher's let is about a girl who got caught up with a teacher and started doing sexaul stuff with the teacher and became a teacher's pet, that is true reality there.
I love Melanie Martinez music. Especially this song which is all about how plastic surgery can make things worse than better. And about body image
My first time too hearing this artist. Although I didn't care for it, I really did enjoy your discussion about the subject matter. And, he'll yeah, Nip Tuck... I loved that show. Lol. It's on Hulu now, so maybe I'll watch it again someday. 😁
I enjoyed and appreciated the commentary you provided. hope you can do more Melanie Martinez, she does tend to have deeper subjects in her music
Oh Mrs.potato head tell me is it true that pain is beauty
It teaches that u don't need to be perfect
Her lyrics are soo good. I love her music because she is real with everything. Like “girls learning to cut and paste” I think it’s showing that a new generation girls are learning that there not good enough because of social media. And there doing things that could hurt them or there changing in ways they don’t want to do.
Apparently when you’re a nice honest person you don’t get views lol
"Mrs Potato Head"
more like "Mrs Phone Head" because my phone is potato.
Your so right. The biology of survival is gone but we all still participate in those ideas in a way.
This song makes me cry. every. Single. Time.
Two things
1) i personally think that this just goes to show that you don't have to fix something that isn't broken
2) this is one of those songs that teaches a lesson with the weight and heaviness that is felt in the real world
This song and video are what I'd argue perfect. The message about not changing yourself for others is spot on.
Other songs to react to, "mad hatter", "orange juice", "teachers pet", all by Melanie Martinez
I really like melanie martinez i love all her songs and i am a person who make them self stand out like i have reallt long hair like way down my back and i have blue, black, purple and greenishblue soon to be all blue hair and a side shave and i were dark clothes and im a goth sooo yah and im 14. I got bullied for quite a while in my secondary school but i managed to tell my mum and she went ballistic and now no one bullies me and they cant cos of quarantine
Edit: im wondering it you could react to comments. you ofcourse don't have to.
I would argue that even if one claims that they don't care about looks, you always act a certain way towards others and there is always an aesthetic you try to follow.
I love when guys are getting into the female pop world .. cuz they almost everytime they start enjoying it 😅😍
