    Having grown up in Irondequoit in the 60's, we ice fished the bay many times. They used to have Ice Boat races, Ice Bike ( motorcycles), and as they were a new thing in the 60's, they would have snowmobile races as well. Not to mention waterskiing in the summer.

    Hi IVO - Good fishing video - Good supply of perch for the dinner table - personally speaking when I go outside fishing on the ice covered lakes the sound of the ice cracking makes me quiver -

    Come just a little further east to Sodus Bay for some great perch. Get ahold of me and I'll show you once we have ice.

    It has been a productive year for perch. Silver Lake now has a decent perch population, 8-9 inches, and Conesus has been producing perch well over 10 inches. But like you said, they are finicky.

    @ltsam4174 5 років тому +1

    You should also try Sodus Bay. Good point to show the color of the fins. The redder the fins means it's feeding on the Blood Worms. Then you can tip your lure with a red plastic worm.

    Great video! I live right next to that bay and hardly ever fish it. I just started using the stingnose jigging spoon and it's become a go to lure for me when it comes to perch. Need to get out there and get some content for myself. Got yourself a new sub keep up the good work.

    Ivo you're fishing in my backyard too....I live near Sodus bay and Sodus bay has been on fire lately for perch....I've been using the stingeye for a few years now...actually been using 1/4oz and 3/8oz....just using 1/16oz in shallower water but looks like the boatless angler did pretty well with the 1/16oz...if you ever want to fish Sodus let me know.

    Are you ever worried about pollution ? The NYS Fish consumption advisories list PCB's , Mirex and Dioxin as contaminants of concern for Lake Ontario and Irondequoit Bay. I'm sure the perch are ok to eat but I'm just curious.

      @@kylematesic I know that. I just wanted to let them know not to eat too much and to make sure they were aware. You can eat up to 4 meals/month of yellow perch out of Ontario and Irondequoit.
