Lived in Cascade from 94-96. I was a wildland firefighter. Bought a house on vista point near cascade reservoir. At that time people didn't like perch in the reservoir. How times have changed.
*Holy cow!* Those Perch are *TOADS!!!* Man, I'm glad I stopped by to watch you catch those rascals! Those are seriously the largest ones I've ever seen. 🙂👍
Really nice perch guys. We fish for them up here on Lake Simcoe in Ontario using jigging raps. We get them that big but usually have to wade through some little ones....
Cascade lake is like no other place for perch I have ever seen. As survey in 2016 said that 27% of the fish were over 12 inches and 8% over 15 inches. The lake record is 2 lbs 15 and 3/4 ounce. One quarter once shy of 3 lbs. Some days you catch the jumbos others you just catch load of 10-12 inchers but also it has some really nice trout as well. Ice is thick here and it can be along ways from the ramp to good fishing so a Snow machine is almost a requirement.
Wasn’t aware there was a “wrong” way....Nothing wrong with holding it pencil style. Works well when you’re doing a lot of finesse jigging that requires very subtle movements.
@@NorthwoodsAngling 2 pound Dakota perch are the same as 2# Idaho perch.. but yes the numbers there are better for that size perch. But I would rather have a chance at a 28" walleye and jumbo perch on the same lake..
@@johnlarson78 I spent years living in the Dakotas, great fishery, just not Idaho in terms of perch fishing. Catching big rainbow trout while perch fishing is a blast btw. PS don't settle for 28's John, Your better than that! Hope you catch some giants this winter!
nice!!! we have a lake I fish here in Ny we catch some 1.5 lbers on the scale!!! Im waiting for ice up! What cameras you running? quality is great! Im upgrading for my channel soon not sure what direction to go yet!
I'm always amazed how their is never anyone else fishing this lake but yet these big perch get caught there. Totally opposite of SD, if fact when shows film in sd its normally by guides and not even a week later the lake is done. Fishing in SD has become a circus since they(gfp) closed down public trust waters.
Also the only reason the belly is that big is cause its full of eggs! its not extra meat! lmaoo and anything under 12inches is not a jumbo even with a belly full of eggs lmaoooo
I’ve been to Simcoe many years and live on Erie. You don’t get toads like this that often. Solid 9 and 10 maybe but You don’t consistently get perch that big like they do in Cascade and even Gogebic in the U..P. Simcoe gets way too much pressure.
@@michgan4 Personally I have no idea where you fishing on Simcoe cause I only get on toads like that and 30+ a day aswell spend 4-6days a weeks out fishing. Erie would produce those aswell and does when the ice comes every few years. Also I don't think your aware of the new Ontairo perch record last year caught on the St Lawerance 17inch. I think the record for the cascades is 16.5inches. We get a lot of big fish now due too the Goby's. I find populations might be dropping on Simcoe but that's just due too the pressure! Btw with the sounds of you catching 9s and 10s my guess is youre fishing too shallow.
@@hardwatermaniac you're right about the pressure - way too many people. I'm retired so my buddies and I fish through the week so it's not too bad. We fish Duclos Point and other spots and have caught lots of big ones but sometimes you get skunked - I've seen monsters that just won't bite anything. Really looking forward to first safe ice. Good luck to you.
🔥Love it guys! Livin’ my bucket list dream....thanks for taking us along
Just WOW guys! Unbelievable!!👍🏻🫵🏻💯
Great video man. I love yellow perch, they are so fun to catch and are rather delicious. Keep em coming!!

People there and the state still hate them in there, they are not salmonoids.
Dude this video is awesome. Keep it up- an inspiration

I love how nick just threw that rod down lol
Lol
Gotta catch the fish at all costs right???!!! Ha!
Hell yeah! Awesome Luke!
Really nice editing brother 👊 Nice to see you again..
Come to Canada, we’re pulling them out of our lakes 14” all day. Super fun time!
Hi brother. Ice fishing is fun. I come from Vietnam. nice to meet my brother and who is watching chanel
Those are giants. We occasionally get them like that out of lake erie off Buffalo. Lake and state record is 3.8 . nice job guys!
My man Luke!! Those are MONSTER perch!!! Hope to fish with you sometime when I move out to the east coast!!!

@@raywilliams6675have you fished Cascade before? This lake?
Fishing for sturgeon and watching Northwoods Angling. Not get much better
Don’t
AWESOME!!!♥️
Title is certainly NOT clickbait!
Thank you for holding the rod’s correctly!

Congrats on the JUMBO perch! 2.2 lbs. belongs on your wall! I would’ve done the same thing. Awesome!
nice release on that 15"er!!!!!!! Bang right into the ice!!!!!
Awesome video 👏
Great video fellas,,the editing is soooo good!! So the big gut, is this from eggs or minnows???
Eggs mainly. Some minnow forage. Lots of snails and blood worms as well.
Those are some tanker perch!!
I might have a touch of OCD, but all those ice chunks floating in the hole would bother me if I was fishing it. Lol
Jen and I just watched this. Lots of laughs and holy cow nice "work!"
I didn't know Idaho had monster Perch like that. You would have thought this was the Netherlands. Except for the snow.
What kind of flasher/fish finder and rod holder?
Caught some like that in lake champlain before.
I wonder why the perch here in the Great lakes aren't as bright yellow. Rarely do they ever have orange belly fins either.
Are those like average out there damnnnnn👌👌
Are you going skin mount or replica? I'd love to see the mount when finished
Can I suggest tim overbaugh , finley Minnesota. Best replicas you will ever see. I have 15 incher done by him. Fantastic fantastic
I got a skin mount and went through Erik Frank, one of the best painters in the world. It turned out amazing
Have you shown it in a video? I'm new subscriber so I might have missed it.
I don't know why people skin mount. Especially with muskies. Even skin mounts get painted. Take measurements and pictures.
I agree but not judging anyone
2:56 how do you not get pricked when you do that??
Hi there, very nice 😁👍🏻
Perch catch and cook?
I will be doing a trout catch and cook soon.. hoping to do perch soon!
OMG!!! I’m going there...
I am so glad that I don't have to travel to Idaho to catch jumbo perch!!!
Glad you don't have to? We don't either, we choose to, it's beautiful and the fish make Dakota fish look like children.

no, bass, trout, and perch are the populous fish

This show was shot all on gopro. Our normal camera is a Sony A7SII.
I'm also in NY, I need some fishing partners. Where do you usually fish? I caught my PB on Chenango Lake last year
Thanks for info

Ii catch large perch during April and may
That's a pig! Nice catch
Where the heck is this Cascade lake located? I want to go ice fish so bad!
Idaho!
Bait?
Do they still taste good that big?
We keep the smaller ones.
5:45 fish eye :0
There a different colour to the ones we get in Tasmania.Check the big ones out i got in Lake leake. Will subscribe
What I do is eat those Sallie fish. I understand the hunt but perch are great eating. I only take what I need to feed. We all don't have the $ you do.
We already had a meal, so this footage was just a collaboration of all the bigger fish 😁. Thanks for watching!

Name of that intro song?
Great question, not sure.
Are they filled with spawn
My lord those perch are mutants
We don't have perch like to have in Europe their perch are monsters I've seen 5 lb perch across the pond.

nothing to eat????
Gorgeous Perch, but hardly anything on Baits, Tackle, Search Methods. Presentation. etc.

Damn biggens.
Why does nobody have a face mask on at the airport?lol
How old is this lol
