I used the bedec MSP satin today for the 1st time on the woodwork in someone’s office. He wanted his upvc window sill doing as it was looking tired. Went on a treat on both substrates 👍

Used this on a big job last year. It's the best paint I've used through an airless sprayer Phil. No runs, no sags and leveled out perfectly. The only one i need to use now through the airless sprayer is scuff x to compare.👍🏻

It's thanks to you I've started trying different paints Phil, 35years in the game, been in a rout with dulux as there is a DDC round the corner & so easy to go there every job, but last 12 - 18 months I've switched to WB for 95% of work, bedec msp satin prob use most, recently opened account at paint well where last 2 furniture jobs sprayed with helmi 10, so much easier to get that finish. (With a qtech t5 on your recommendation & luv it) Basically I'm saying thank you for the hard work with the videos, you've helped alot!!!! P.s do you want to buy a second hand brushmate? 😂

Love the Everall Aqua, sprays through the GXFF like a dream. The only draw back with it (like most w/b) is the opacity in the white / lighter colours. For flow I'd prefer Helmi, does seem to level better but if I'm spraying it's Everall everyday.

Everal Aqua 40 is my go to paint for all interior woodwork, I do use it outside but it'll need re-doing in 5 years or sooner. Everal Aqua range is a treat to work with. Brilliant when rollered with 2 Fussy Blokes 5mm. Helmi good as well but have used it less recently. You can get both in half litre cans as well.

Hi Phil, Here's my update on painting my sash windows. Firstly, I took your advice on ( not mixing brands) using the same brands of Tikkurila primer and Top coat. Buying the paint : When I went to purchase the paint, I asked for Tikkurila Everal Aqua 40 in brilliant white. I was told by customer service, They had it in only white, Tikkurila did not come in a brilliant white. When the sales assistant opened the Tin of paint to show me , the paint appeared to be an off- white tint of yellow which almost put me off buying the paint. I then remembered being told in art class how adding a slight tint of blue to white can make the color appear a brighter white. But this was actually meant for fabric. However, The sales assistant, He mixed the Paint for me , by adding a tint of blue. At this stage I had to buy the paint, but I still wasn't 100% happy with the colour. As It didn't look 100% white. I returned home with the paint. I completed all the correct prepping of sanding and cleaning my sash windows and using a sealer. I then painted my first primer coat of otex akva primer and left it on for 24 hours. The Following day I gave that first primer coat a very light sanding and re-applied my second coat of Tikkurila otex akva primer and also left it to dry for 24 hours. The following day I gave the second coat of my primer a very light sanding -and wiped it off with a damp cloth. The otex akva primer was a nice bright white. However, I was anxious when applying my first coat of Tikkurila Everal Aqua 40 knowing that the white wasn't what I hoped for. But when I began painting, I was relieved to notice the Everal 40 white had no signs of a yellowing undertone, Phew ! I thought to myself . After a while of painting I noticed a slight drag on my brush strokes, so I immediately stopped painting and Google searched how to water down Tikkurila Everal Aqua 40 ?. One comment recommended keeping my brush damp . So rather than me measuring and diluting the paint, I just kept dipping my paint brush into a beaker of water and I would shake off any excess water and then stir the damp paint brush into my paint kettle to get a nice silky consistency of paint. The paint now went on like a dream. Nice flow, Easy to work with. After painting, I took my paint brushes to the shower with me and the paint easily washed off. The following day I gave the first Everal Aqua 40 coat a very light sanding and then painted my final 4th coat of Tikkurila Everal Aqua 40. 2 days later I pulled off the sticky tape which I had put around the window to save the glass from paint splash. When I pulled the tape off there was a spot which had a slight sticky residue. When I used a Scourer Sponge to scrub and remove the sticky residue, To my horror the 4 coats of paint in that spot had washed off easily, leaving a sight of the old yellow solvent gloss which I had sanded off. It could have been because the paint coats I painted were too light.(watery) Or that the paint needed longer to cure and harden ?. I've decided I'm now going to paint a 5th coat and leave it at that. Then after 1 month I will scrub the other spot with warm soapy water to see the results. Everal Aqua 40 paint, states it withstands: Weathering and UV rays, Mechanical stresses and Washing and detergents. The finish I did looks really well, However the durability I am unsure of. I get the feeling it's only a wipeable paint, but not scrubbable. Only time will tell. 🙃

Hi Phil, thanks for another great video. After watching this I’m a bit conflicted, I’ve a big Victorian statement front door to paint (it’s inside a porch so can use internal paint) and was planning to use Helmi 30 in white. After watching not sure if I should use the Everal Aqua 40, what are your thoughts on which is best? Also the door has big panels and wide rails so was thinking of using a two fussy blokes roller for larger panels. What’s your experience of using a roller with these paints? Many thanks.

I've just done a door in an open porch like that... I used hafprimer and two coats puGloss.
All brushed with 2" Nour Heritage.
That came up great too... Even brushed.

I have x 4 doors of a similar size and would like to know total amount of paint needed. I tried microfibre rollers, brush with light lay off and it just kept pulling and leaving marks. It was like it was drying off that quickly that when you went to lay off it was dragging if that makes sense? I ended up adding Floetrol which helped massively!!! I got the finish with that added but up until then it was horrible to work with! Natural light didn’t help… would be interesting to see Dave the door in natural light to see how it’s gone for real? @@ProfessionalPainterDecorator Good Afternoon Sir Phil. I've spent hours & days sanding all my old yellow glossed wood : Floors, Skirts & Window x 4 Doris doors ! I used 80 grit then 120 grit leaving a thin layer of old yellowed gloss behind which I can see the wood grain through. Now I'm searching for that magical paint system which can paint over all my wood surfaces - rather than me buying paints separately. Over the last 2 weeks I've been searching high & low for that one superb quality paint system. I believe there must be a One for All durable paint system out there which can cover all wood surfaces? If a painted wooden floor can tolerate a dance party without cracking up ! then i'm sure there must be durable paint out there which can be used on all wooden surfaces ? Maybe the paint won't be as shiny ! But surely if it's manufactured for floors then wouldn't it be the most durable to use on all surfaces ? Being the obsessive perfectionist which I am I had to put P hub & Netflix aside and instead I decided to thoroughly review every recommended paint brand there is to find out there. So far, Phil, I've watched all your videos of you testing various paints on Doris the door ! I've read all your replies & comments from both you and your fans . I've also read and researched every customer review on UA-cam and from all my local paint retail outlets. Reviews and ratings on Amazon. I have literally spent hours, days and late nights eager to find the utmost reliable paint system I can use on all my sanded wood surfaces Here is my final conclusion ! The best paints with 0 negative reviews are : Paint winners are : F&B + Everal Aqua 40 + Johnstone's Trade Aqua Guard + v33 renovation + Isomat + SCUFF-X® + Zinsser AllCoat Exterior & Bedec Although Bedec did have 1 negative review about its color choice and it chipping off a door I still added it here. Everal Aqua 40 : I've seen many professionals use it on all wooden surfaces on my FB posts with no negative comments. v33 renovation - i can't find any negative comments but there are not many examples from customers using it which leaves me suspicious. Paints which you recommend Phil : Isomat + SCUFF-X® & Bedec. Isomat + SCUFF-X® - No negative comments but unfortunately I can't buy locally, those paints are limited to delivery in my country, and pricey too. Example 2.5 liters of Bedec shipped to Ireland cost 75 euro. Isomat has a great overall rating with no negative comments, however I also can't buy it locally. Tikkurila everal aqua 40 - Has no negative reviews. I saw loads of posts and pictures of professionals using Tikkurila everal aqua 40 on all wooden surfaces with amazing results & positive comments. Johnstone's Trade Aqua Guard : Great reviews with No negative comments across the Internet but only your concern on application Phil. Every other paint I've researched & reviewed had cons. Zinsser AllCoat Exterior seemed to be good @ first for quality & durability until I came across 3 different videos showing this paint flaking off. The Best adhesive primer. BIN shellac primer is definitely the best adhesive primer out there, especially because it sticks to glass surfaces like no other primer can do. My idea is to use BIN with an undercoat and a final top coat for my window frames which I treated previously for mould issues. I saw great testing reviews on BIN primer. A winning paint for me must check the most boxes : Non yellowing + Multi Surface. Good coverage & opacity. Scrubbable & durable water based lasting paint. Bright white. So far, I can't find one negative comment. Finally, I'm considering using Everal Aqua 40 on all of my wood surfaces: Doors + Floors and windows using the TIKKURILA undercoat and Everal 40 as a final top coat. For my walls I bought Crown easy clean scrubbable Wish me luck ! 😊
