Interesting info, thanks Daniel. I moved to Tikkurila and love their products, 90% of my paint buying. Notice a few shortages in some products. So this Teknos is a great back up.
That's some extension and a lot of downlights! I ordered 4 X AR2 direct from Tikkurila on Monday 22/11 - and they delivered the very next day. Think I must have struck lucky. Had previously looked at the Teknos some while ago but decided to go with AR2. Haven't used as yet. Great video content 👍
Great video, nice alternative to the AR2 will be giving that a try as sometimes fine the AR2 a bit dull, which is great at times but if the walls are brilliant white the Teknos might be a better fit
Hey, thank you so much for replying! That’s great I will give it a try then as I just seem to be having a few problems with ceiling this last few weeks😞 some people say to overlap by at least half, follow directions of light and work with wet edge which is what I have been doing but maybe it’s the paint or am overlapping too much maybe?! So frustrating when it’s drying with roller marks/shadows! If you have any videos of you actually rollering that would be amazing as the finish you got was perfect so I am willing to try any way you do your ceilings!😅 thanks again. Lou
Hi Dan, Did you thin this paint down at all for first or both coats??👍 Also when you rollered did you over lap your roller lines at all if so by how much? As I am having problems with roller marks so thought I would give this paint a go! Many thanks Lou
Hi mate. I always try and roll in one direction only and towards the natural light if I can. With this paint you will see how great it is. I can't praise it enough as a decorator because I've never been truly happy with ceilings until this product came along. I won't use anything else from now on. Give it a try.
Ever tried Johnston’s perfect Matt ? Very good anti reflex paint and it’s brilliant white not white have to think it down tho , never used the turklia one
hi mate i was looking at ceiling paints few weeks back have you heared of WRX ceiling paint ... i used it once its realy worth its money but only dowm fall they dont do it in 10 litres 🤦🏻♂️
Hi, great video. Having a nightmare with my flat smooth living room ceiling. Patchy. Want to give AR2 a try. what pile sleeve should I use for my flat ceiling?
@@danielnugentpainteranddeco557 my ceiling is a newly plastered ceiling. So very smooth. So a 9/16 nap would leave a nice finish on ceiling? Sorry for the questions. Just want to get it right this time 🙂
@@jamesmoore6427 hi mate. Yes it will especially when you apply it in one direction. I usually roll towards natural light and not across it. But with AR2 you can't go wrong it's a joy to put on. If you have bare plaster make sure to thin your first coat out by 10 percent as that's called a mist coat. I use Tikkurila Optiva Primer for plaster which can be used straight out of the tub with no thinning out. Cheers Dan

100 percent mate. This is great gear and spot on for those big ceilings with lots of natural light.

Yes I feel its a much brighter white. Both are good but I do admit Tikkurila white is not a brilliant white across the range.
100% agree..these are the best ceiling whites on the market .

Nice one keep them coming
Will do mate
I'll be trying that Teknos , looks decent gear Dan.
Still yet to try do love Johnstone’s covaplus vinyl Matt for ceilings regards mes decorating
I'd always stick with AR2 as they have it back on the shelves
Good video mate but what one do you think is whiter as the tikkurila is quite dull
Did you use same paint on coving? Excellent vids by the way👍🏼
Cheers mate
Yes coving aswell

Looks great stuff, 👍 but thus may dound a daft question but could you use either of these on walls ?? 🤔🤔🤔.
I probably wouldn't but I think if it marks you can't even wipe it as its a real flat matt
Ar2 has a scrub rating
Ever tried Johnston’s perfect Matt ? Very good anti reflex paint and it’s brilliant white not white have to think it down tho , never used the turklia one
That's one I will try. Cheers Dan
Did you add any water to the tikerilla Daniel? Ive just painted some coving with it and it seemed a bit thick and was drying very quick
Hi mate. No not at all. Are you sure you didn't get a bad batch as usually its perfect to work with neat
How do these compare with johnstones perfect Matt? As it’s around 130£ per 10L where as these are around 50£ per 10l. Huge savings
Anti Reflex 2 by Tikkurila all the way. I still find it a product I will always go to
@@danielnugentpainteranddeco557 do you prefer the AR over the techno? or would you still say they are equal ?
@@sarahpenberth2948 AR as it was a lot more even as a finish
Nice Vid, I love AR2 just find the finish so good but dying now to try the Teck out
Mate its such great gear. I think I will always stick to AR2
@@danielnugentpainteranddeco557 must say I'm pretty stuck on AR2 and it'll take something special to change me.
@@simoncloake8051 Yes mate 100 percent agree. At last a ceiling paint which doesn't show up roller marks
If not a kitchen etc MacPherson Eclipse pretty good gear, covers well, dries flat touches up good. It's £10 /12 10l tub cheaper
Yes love the big tubs of Macpherson Eclips on jobs where I need to just freshen up. Great gear
Good gear but doesn't touch up at all I only use it now as a mist coat
@@peteramond3358 I've gone back to AR2 which is available again. Supply has been a nightmare

Not heard of that mate but I did try Spray Daylight by Bedec and found it OK but a bit thin so ideal for spraying but I'll stick to AR2
Christ, where would you start with a ceiling that size and shape??
It was like an airport runway with all the lights lol

Hi mate. A nice microfiber either Arroworthy or Wooster 9/16 nap
