That’s a high forehead Phil 👍
He’s not biting 😆
And????? That type of irrelevant snarky comment says far more about your character than it does about a guy providing professional advice to the masses.
We use it quite often and i think its great, always get a really nice Finnish with it if you pardon the pun
Ive tried loads of Finnish paint...gloss, satin etc 😏
I think the internet decorating community might be familiar with the name of Teknos, but only a small percentage have probably actually used it.
Your average decorator wont have heard of it, let alone used it.
I dont think these new firms do enough to get their products out there.
Good review Phil... I'll look forward to trying this stuff.👍
Nice video Phil and good to meet Dave 👍 could I please ask for some advice regarding outdoor surfaces. We have a small decorative picket style fence separating lawn from patio area and have used Cuprinol garden shades before but end up triple coating it every year or two as it slowly peels or greens up. I’d like to get a longer lasting finish and was wondering if it can be sanded, primed and painted with a proper outdoor paint system like weathershield or if this is inadvisable for a fence and stick with a tinted stain? It’s a fairly smooth wooden finish like outdoor furniture not a rough featherboard type finish. If we were to give it a go would you treat with diluted bleach first so the green doesn’t return or is there a mould/algae resistant primer or paint you would recommend. Thanks and hope the sponsors come through soon 😂
ello, have a look at bedec barnpaint.... goes over nearly anything.. needs little prep... two coats is normally plenty. Get it at ToolStaition... or
check out www.wood-finishes-direct.com/product/bedec-barn-paint
also PaintMonster.co.uk
Brewers and paintwell etc
@@ProfessionalPainterDecoratorthanks Phil will do 👍 I think I remember you did a video on that a while back
Big Doris and little Dave. Marriage made in heaven. 😢
I use Teknos teknoceiling 02 on lids and the Pro 5 on walls if they’re white. They’re both excellent paints. Isomat is still my main choice for everything else though.
The Isomat Isolac takes some beating doesn't it
Trying the Teknos. So far so good and a great finish. However, it is glossy because they have formulated it to dry very slowly. So a little like oil based in the end. Maybe it would be even better, overpainting gloss finish, with a good chalky high build undercoat
Did you carry on watching the office then? 😂 I’d say it was a compliment to be compared to Ricky Gervais?
Na lol
Whats your go to water based gloss? Thank you
Bedec
Compared to isomat? That seems to be a contender.
isomat is a proper water based paint, not alkyd like the furtura aqua
@@ProfessionalPainterDecorator well if it washes in water that’s all I’ll be interested in I guess, which one is better to use in or out. Both 3 coat process, if both were an option which would you choose and why, there’s so many options.
@@t.dizzle83he aqua 90 has a far higher level of gloss than the isomat gloss. That's the biggest difference
Use it on kitchen cabinets etc. excellent paint
Thanks for the tip!
@white vanman my kitchen is spray painted which I did with Tikkurila helmi 30 in 2019..... Still looks good... Not chips.
@white vanman prep is still the key ;)
You can normally tell if its a 'hybrid' by the smell
Hey Phil can I add owatrol to it ?
I'd say there's no need it goes on so nice. I was using the 90 yesterday on a front door.. didn't eed anything in it. 2nd coat will go on on Monday.
@@ProfessionalPainterDecorator thanks 👍🏻
Is that oil satin????looks like it
nope, but goes yellow like oil too
Does the paint go yellow or not?
What did you think on the video?
Brewers Albany water based gloss is superb gloss, but tends to run when you’ve turned your back,,,,,,try it….
How does it wash out with your brushes?
Very well, same as the satin. Good for cheaper paint.
Thought i was watching David Brent.
Phil, it's water borne, not water based and that means it is alkyd
Alkyd gloss as in oil based?
But this you can wash brushes out with water..... Hybrid gloss then?
Hybrid is alkyd oil suspended in water
@@englishdecorator yep. The futura aqua is a urethane alkyd based paint according to the teknos website.....
I don't think it's like Bedec acrylic based paint
But if your brush washes out fine... Does it matter??
Not really keep testing, that capability pu is a nice finish but a bit pissy
Caparol
Would be better without the silly humour
oh well, never mind lol
