- This is the 2nd part of our Canadian train adventure.
Here is the link to the 1st video: • VIA Rail "The Canadian...
We spent 4 nights on board "The Canadian", VIA Rail's only sleeper train from Toronto to Vancouver. We stayed in a cabin for two (Sleeper Plus class) and had a blast! Despite the cabin being quite small, we were surprised by how cozy and comfortable the beds were!
My favorite part of this trip was:
1. watching late sunrises from the big windows of the panorama car
2. eating the delicious meals
2. last but not least, stopping in Jasper for 3 nights! Jasper was truly the highlight of this trip

Great video and great idea to spend 3 days in jasper. Thanks for sharing.
We enjoyed your sharing of the trip on Via across Canada. Well done!
That was excellent guys! Thank you for sharing !!! :):):)
Thanks again :)
This was fun but I would like some more specifics on how to take this trip myself.
Same I wanna go solo but I don’t get why they stop at Edmonton can’t you just stay on the train???
I hope to travel on this train, I will enjoy all the time without interruption, I love you Canada
I was on the Via-rail web-site last week, checking out Prices and tour’s for my wife and I on the Canadian. I like your narrative, video was informative. Thank for sharing!
Hi, I also did the same trip :) I have no narratives but I have tips/recommendations/suggestions :) If you can, you can check it out

The Canadian isn’t running till November at the earliest, but the train to Churchill is still running outta Winnipeg or the Jasper to Rupert train.
A lovely couple, on a true adventure, train trip. Good photography; CANADA REALLY HAS LOOONG PASSENGER TRAINS!
Gotta love those crisp clear cold mornings out in the mountains!
I did this in reverse (Van to Toronto) in May 2022. Covid restrictions were still in place except in private sleeper cars and the dining room. I opted to have my meals (which were excellent) in my sleeper car. Rather than spend an hour sitting 1 ft from 3 complete strangers. No recent Covid-negative testing was required for this kind of social mixing....
Being a frequent nite-time flyer (to use the washroom) it was great to have my own washroom in my room. My only complaint is that also being a lite-sleeper, the train jostling felt like someone was jumping on my bed - all nite long! Never-ending vertical and horizontal jostling. Some might find this sleep-inducing, but I was exhausted after a few nites of this...
I wanna vist Winnipeg.I have so many awesome friends that live there..I wanna spend a week,I live in Toronto.
I traveled on this train just over ten years ago the journey was very good But the food was shocking Bad ,I ended up with coffee and bread . Never again
Lovely video. It’s really comforting.
Music louder than the narrative. Not good!
Good job on this video! This train is back in service from Winnipeg to Vancouver only from Dec 12, 2020. The Toronto and eastern routes are still facing much lockdown during pandemic. Current price for regular coach for adult is $154 from Winnipeg if you book a week in advance. I spoke to an agent today. They are running this route at only 57% of capacity and socially distancing on trains. (you may get a whole two seats to yourself) . Cheers. Posted 29-Dec-20.
Really I like your trip 👍👍
Is there any train one line from Montreal to Vancouver ?
And its available during covid ?
Thank you
haha the surprise cameo at the end
I’m confused on your overnight stops…. So you had to pack up and leave your train cabin ? Then when you got back on the train you had a different cabin number ?
We decided to visit Jasper for a few days. You have to catch the next train afterwards (the first train continued onto Vancouver).
Did you see any emotional support animals on the train? Looking to travel with my dog from Toronto to Vancouver but a little nervous
Hi! No I don’t remember seeing any animals. Good luck!
Thanks for the video! Where can I find VIA Rail's discount page?
I’m a Canadian born and raised in Toronto now living in Orange County, CA. My wife is from Alaska so we know this scene but never did the train. Wow.
Go for it! It's a lot of fun.
Drive
Looking to do the trip. Was it a round trip? How much did it cost? Thank you:)
I would like to try one day. Thanks for the impressive video
That lobster ravioli in the previous video looked sooo good.
My wife and I took this trip on three separate occasions. Truly a wonderful trip! Hope too do it again post-pandemic!
Hoping to do this trip next May! Thank you so much for sharing.
Nice !!! I am so excited for my train ride this coming Saturday!
Great video and I want to do this!
Nice video, thank you for sharing!
Thank you so much for your wonderful video.Very well produced and professional. I wanted to experience this journey but now it's a MUST! Via Rail should give you a big discount on your next trip. All the best, Ron
Thank you for sharing the experience. I was thinking of taking the train back to Vancouver from Toronto in 2019.
Amazing vlog, thank you!
I don’t know I felt super awesome after watching and listening to the commentary. Hope you get more subscribers
Thanks for watching!
I enjoyed your video. I included riding The Canadian back and forth between Vancouver and Jasper with a one night stay in Jasper as part of an AMTRAK trip through Seattle on The Empire Builder in 2009. It was the last week in October and it was already snowing in the mountains in 2009. It was one of my five weekend to weekend trips between 2001 and 2013 to ride all the AMTRAK routes west of St. Louis to see The West. I also enjoyed taking a trolley tour of Vancouver where you could get off to see sites with plenty of time between train connections there as well. Thanks for placing on UA-cam. I went looking on UA-cam just now for such a video.
Hi. What time of year - I can see its winter but I wondered what month? 😊
Hi! Our trip took place at the end of December!
Jasper is one of my favorite place to go whenever Im in Canada. And the views from jasper to Vancouver, British Columbia are exceptional! We did a 16 hr long drive from jasper to Vancouver last time.
Wonderful work, thank you for sharing. Yes, it's always hard at the end to be "thrown out" into the "real" world. I'm very tempted to do this trip on the summer side. :) Cheers and best wishes!
Hi! How many days travel from Toronto to Vancouver?
how long is the total delay?
Beautiful
trains are cool
Fairly rude to film people while they are sleeping, unbelievable
Also the husband didn't offer to let one person walk by just barged his way though the train like an elephant
nice video
I don't get it. If your room is the cabin with beds, how can you sit in the upstairs panorama cabin with the glass roof? I want to sit upstairs all day and look out the window but is it free or must pay extra on top of the bedroom?
It was free when we went!
It's always been free as long as I've known. The dome seats are not revenue seats, so anyone can sit in them at any time.
Just wondering why you would do that trip in the dead of winter ? So much nicer in the summer!
I can think of a couple reasons! No foliage blocking your view (which happens a lot in the summer), better price, amazing Christmas vibe. Panoramic cars are rarely full in the winter. In the summer, people will show up super early to “guarantee” a seat
...it ‘s Canada....snow time don’t make no difference...the beauty is all round...
Thanks for sharing. It's a pity train travel is rediculously expensive, especially when you compare it to cruising.
RiverDanube ...I so miss the idea of another cruise too....
right now the price is pretty good if you are going by regular coach from Winnipeg. Quoted me $154 to Vancouver. The Toronto to Winnipeg leg is closed right now due to pandemic.
Your commentary about when you were in edmonton was false! The train station is located just 5 minutes from downtown and its right in the middle of the city not out in the middle of nowhere?
Mark Webb, apparently she isn't an Edmonton resident. She arrived at Edmont by night and just shared with us what she believed was real. Imagine you are traveling for hours in a train, and most probably you feel a bit sleepy and tired when you arrive by night for the first time at a new city. Believe me, in those circumstances you aren't at your best in your perception of this new place you are looking at for the first time!
@@JERios-wv8lx still incorrect though! I would’ve thought that someone would have more awareness of where they are? The stops out in northern Ontario? Those are out in the middle of nowhere!!!! A major city stop one should know better that train station wouldn’t be out in the middle of nowhere!
Mark Web, with all due respect, if you read carefuly my comment, i'm assuming (because of a long train trip and it was already night), the lady most probably was tired and maybe a little bit sleepy.
@@JERios-wv8lx the comment was inaccurate and shouldn’t have been mentioned. As a proud former Edmontonian I don’t want people to think that my towns station is out in the middle of nowhere when in fact it’s right in the middle of the city!!!!!
