No lie, my very first time in the Cosmodrome in D1, a drop pod fell on me within 30 seconds and I was sold on the series from that moment. Pretty funny seeing that happen to you, brought it all full circle.

You mean after we sold, refused to use any abilities whatsoever to stop our ghost from floating up and doing the witnesses' will even despite knowing and seeing this entity take control over our ghost multiple times before, got it tortured for months on end of continuous screaming so haunting it even made immaru work with us despite all the bad blood. And youre surprised it doesn't have a bit more fuel in the tank as if it doesn't need to rest like everyone else????? You people are so ignorant 😂😂😂😂😂

I just realised. Riven fed well when she made that wish come true. Her monkeys paw was cayde giving his life for our ghost so the future of our death no longer happens. We avoided the fate found in season of dawn
I was going to say... We were supposed to die. We quite literally got hit with the Wish Dragon Chekhov's Gun. The cost of the wish was losing Cayde. Again.

Meh, I still think they will hold off until the final seasonal updates. While I think it was a solid ending, it didn’t feel like a final ending.

Caydes final speech over the radio had me in tears, and now having Crow follow his steps as Hunter Vanguard is amazing. Bravo to Bungie. Excited to to what the future holds for us.
I know it's probably a coincidence, but he was originally supposed to be our sidekick way back before we got the story we got. Kinda poetic, the way he ended up becoming that in the end.

@@FierceDeityBaryon just a bit, we didn't see any reality or mind destroying power, I mean turning people into a calcified statue was pretty scary, not reality altering but still pretty powerful, the quest was cinematic except for those damage numbers, kinda broke the immersion a bit, too bad you can't turn those off, so destiny 3 ? Or nah, I would prefer if Bungie ended destiny with this, another destiny game would undo what they did just now, hopefully with marathon they learn from their mistakes, monetization wise, Bungie sometimes can get too greedy, better monetization better experience for new players, maybe free dlc and no p2w stuff, I'm pretty sure with cosmetics and such they could have a more positive user friendly monetization, overall great great ending

I can't believe it's over. This was something my friends always speculated on. How would it go, would it be satisfying? 10 long years finally came to a close today. It almost doesn't seem real. I never thought they would be able to make a satisfying ending for a 10 hear experience. Im glad they proved me wrong. I know they still have episodes. But for me, destiny is finished. It's time for this guardian to retire. It was an honor to play with you all over the years.

Cayde just sacrificed himself just to revivie our ghost, he dissolved, so to speak, with his light.
well, he WAS construct of Light, probably would be trapped inside Traveller, so giving his Light to Ghost was probably best option for everyone

Zavala or Cayde will say that only Saint pushed through to be with us, Mithraax, Caitl and Savathuun seem to have caught up with us to help us, however Savathuun only places a Hive sword and immediately dips oit of there

One last goodbye to Cayda-6, I was happy to see him once again after his death but this time this goodbye was a peaceful Goodbye. Goodbye Cayda-6 you will be in our hearts forever. ❤

Without Sundance, he would have become a bitter, bitter man sooner or later. If you read the Still Hunt lore, there's still some underlying resentment there.
Afterwards you can talk to Ikora at her usual spot and even Crow gives you some words down in the Hanger at Amanda's spot. But Zavala didn't speak to me it this kind of hurt the most.
What does Crow say, if you don't mind me asking? Wouldn't say anything to me.

And the darkness…the winnower…the gardener…the nine…lots of loose ends that need to be tied up. Hopefully they do a better job than Game Of Thrones did…

The Empress knitting with Saladin, Saint holding Osiris in his arms, Zavala and Ikora playing around with stasis and strand, Crow dancing in front of the children with Mara next to him. These little moments made me cry...
Every moment in the 10 years has led to this. It left me a happy feeling, a finally feeling. Just bliss. Bittersweet. Shed a few tears as well

That was such good writing; that scene where Zavala was giving his speech reminded me of the scene from LOTR and the Black Gate where Aragorn gave his battle speech.

If you pay close attention after that mission, your ghost has a different, very quiet secondary tone in its voice
One of the best lines from Savathûn during the mission was something in the lines of "Witness Sathona has come for you" gave me chills as this makes me truly believe even though the hive was / is our enemy still it shows she never has never forgiven the darkness for twisting her family and species
Cayde freaking out about Saint-14 being alive and nobody telling him will never not be funny

This reminded my of the great Halo Bungie again...
It's crazy how much talent is hidden at Bungie but management consistently keeps them trapped. I guess the lack of pre-orders spoke louder this time and forced them to let the devs cook for once and so they did. I'm just annoyed that it took them a lack of pre-orders to finally unleash some of Destiny's potential after 10 years.
As I said during playing the campaign to a friend "why does Bungie have first be bullied into submission to actually make good stuff?" (basically the same meaning, I am fully aware of management being shit. It's why I quit the game right after the layoffs for 6 months)

@@gatorwarrior7557 yeah, it just seems like their magnum opus ending just wasn’t ready and they needed another year of development and so they made Lightfall into essentially filler to get rid of Callus and his storyline in the meantime.
This was the greatest ending for Destiny. I properly cried when Ghost died. I cried even harder when Cayde sacrificed himself. This was absolutely beautiful.
Anyone remember what Missraks said during Season of the Splicer? Something about forming an alliance between humanity, eliksni, cabal and hive. And look who showed up to help us at the end. Still letting the whole thing sink in. Woke up and saw the finale was available. Felt badass blocking an attack from the Witness with Unbreakable.
I ugly cried so hard at the ending between Cayde and all of the different scenes of places we have been and enemies we have beaten. 10 freaking years.
Hopefully people can’t just skip the cutscene right

no first time u have to watch it. if you finished it you can pick a normal run (without cutscenes) or the same one.

Personally I think the reason cayde was so different was because he was a representation or personification of the traveller in the final shape, yeah it was him but bestowed with the light in a different way. Also that's why when the guardian asked the traveller to bring ghost back cayde appeared as the response from the traveller.
After 10 long years, from picking up my copy of Destiny 1 on my first day of highschool to now, this ending truly left me in tears. Well done bungie, well done.

Tears of Joy all morning, starting this journey 10 years ago and looking how my life has changed, friends I have made, clan I have been in, IRL friends. I could not have asked for a better grand finale.
Normally I'm very critical of bungies storytelling (with the exception of certain expansions) BUT HOT DAMN THIS GAVE ME CHILLS!

Hearing the guardian in such pain in his voice was so difficult for me, and i see people saying they're upset that we lost cayde again, however, im not sad, because he gave his light to save our ghost, a part of him will always be with us now
Seeing all our formal enemies fighting alongside us during that final battle against the witness. That was something I did not expect to see. Also seeing our ghost died. Then Cayde sacrificed his new life so we can have our little buddy back.
They should have ended it with us sacrificing ourselves to destroy the witness. Keep the scene with us talking to Kayde after our death, but meanwhile the Vaguard is holding a funeral service at the tower in honor of our sacrifice. Saint-14 is giving his speech like he did in the future we saw long ago in season of the dawn, when all of a sudden our ghost shows up to revive us during the funeral.

In the story when Cayde is speaking of the guardian tenants... He never says death. The light lives in all things, hes still with us.

If only 13 year old me knew at the time, that this random game I picked up was about to form this story over the next 10 years of my life and end like this. The first official 12 man activity, fighting the witness and doing a cool anime finisher with our ghost to end the witness, how instead of saying ‘we,’ he said I as he realized it was only his goal, no one else’s, and just that moment when our ghost died, where our guardian for once is panicking, begging. It was so sad, and then Cayde sacrifice. And just the small detail of your guardian holding the ghost close to their chest after they came back to life it just… my heart

I haven’t played the game yet but this whole story has me hooked. I got a little choked up when Ghost said “there you are.” Like he was looking for us just as we were seeking them.
Now that’s how you make a good ending. One thing I noticed Mith’s shadow was growing ominously, I think he might have a part to play in an episode or something. Could you maybe go into detail about that?

i didnt think the last cutscene would hit me like it did, i watched my friend do the mission after i quite a few months back due to not liking the game at all and not caring about the lore. i didnt even know cayde that well but man did it hit. 10/10 writing.
What’s interesting is the memories of the traveler in the pale heart. It explains A LOT about the traveler and it’s relationship to humanity

It’s finally over. 10 years and all of this. Never did I think I would care so much or feel so much. What an ending. Our guardian pleading for his ghost and Cayde answering the call. Hope everyone enjoys the conclusion to this story. As the saying goes. Eyes up Guardian.

It’s hard seeing the adventures coming to a end the memories we having the title we gain I’m glad I was born were i was able to play destiny 1 to today and seeing cayde 6 give his light for are ghost is heart warming and will make anyone cry until we meet again cayde
