Academy Award® winner Emma Stone (“La La Land”) stars in Disney’s “Cruella,” an all-new live-action feature film about the rebellious early days of one of cinemas most notorious - and notoriously fashionable - villains, the legendary Cruella de Vil. “Cruella,” which is set in 1970s London amidst the punk rock revolution, follows a young grifter named Estella, a clever and creative girl determined to make a name for herself with her designs. She befriends a pair of young thieves who appreciate her appetite for mischief, and together they are able to build a life for themselves on the London streets. One day, Estella’s flair for fashion catches the eye of the Baroness von Hellman, a fashion legend who is devastatingly chic and terrifyingly haute, played by two-time Oscar® winner Emma Thompson (“Howards End,” “Sense & Sensibility”). But their relationship sets in motion a course of events and revelations that will cause Estella to embrace her wicked side and become the raucous, fashionable and revenge-bent Cruella.
Disney’s “Cruella” is directed by Craig Gillespie (“I Tonya”) from a screenplay by Dana Fox and Tony McNamara, story by Aline Brosh McKenna and Kelly Marcel & Steve Zissis. It was produced by Andrew Gunn (“Freaky Friday”), Marc Platt (“Mary Poppins Returns”) and Kristin Burr (“Christopher Robin”), with Emma Stone, Michelle Wright, Jared LeBoff and Glenn Close serving as executive producers. Two-time Oscar®- winning costume designer Jenny Beavan (“Mad Max: Fury Road,” “A Room with a View”) creates the dazzling and imaginative costumes, which take on a life of their own.

This movie is probably going to win the Oscar for Best Costume Design.
Actually deserves it if there wont be any better
Agreed! The Green Knight, Last Night in Soho and a few other historical features might get considered. But I can tell you that this will be a serious contender!
Even if it doesn't win, i hope it at least gets nominated
They historically favor period pieces, not contemporary fashion.
Yes!!!
This movie better get an award for greatest costumes & hair.
Edit: Wow, thanks for the likes. I didn’t think people would care. Heh, heh.
@Aabruh what?
@Aabruh do you know... the punk rock?
@Aabruh no…
@@allysonponce336 I love that her looks are inspired in the 70s and it's based on punk rock. So I have a question so far since I feel like that everyone including myself has already seen this movie by watching trailers what Cruella DeVille outfit do u like.
@Aabruh Speaking of Lady Gaga, House of Gucci from Ridley Scott is coming later this year and its costumes are ringing Oscar buzz about it.
Regardless if this movie ends up good or not, you have to admit the costumes in this are stunning and completely worthy of any award
And no doubt that the makeup and hairstyling, as well as the production design will also be in contention as well. It still remains a question if the movie as a whole is gonna be good or not, as the track record of Disney live-action adaptations is a mixed bag to say the least.
@@ajpat9620 Thats really true.
@@ErnestoHerrera2002 Tough somehow, there are contenders that would be in consideration for Best Costume Design, Best Makeup and Hairstyling and Best Production Design with the likes of Dune, The French Dispatch, The Green Knight, House of Gucci, Nightmare Alley, Spencer, West Side Story; among others.
The movie is awesome!
@@Rai_S82 The costumes were utterly terrific, having seen it myself and the fashion reminds of Phantom Thread.
that garbage truck scene looks ✨ e p i c ✨ ms. Beaven made Oscar-winning costumes
Absolutely iconic
It was over the top!! 👌
She won for Mad Max Fury Road
These outfits Emma Stone is wearing are so 🔥 shootout to Jenny Beavan for making Emma look incredible.
yeah but emma stone is a kibbe natural, they needed a dramatic or romantic to pull it off
red dress needs a marilyn figure
the others like a keira knightley
Like, Emma Stone had made terrific costume collaborations with the following:
1. Sharen Davis for The Help
2. Mary Zophres for La La Land
3. Sandy Powell for The Favourite
4. Jenny Beavan for Cruella
@@ajpat9620 all 4 has been nominated for an oscar for costume design
Out of all 4
Sandy and Jenny has win the oscar
emma can wear anything
I Want To Wear Some Of Them Myself There Magnificent!!
Emma Stone can’t get any more fabulous than this
Yes, dahhling. And what fun that is!
I would love if the movie ends with cruella opening her “House of De Vil” and Anita walking in to apply to work for her as a fashion designer.
Yes
@@BunnyMumma33 i hope Disney makes that move, that ending will open path for future movies with cruella and the Dalmatians.
@@pedrogaxiola2454 they did cruella dirty on 101 dalmatians tho will it be pathetic if she's done all this and ended up in a mental hospital because of stupid dalmatians
@@mumtazfaza9118 they can fix the ending.. and maybe she at least kills one dog. 😧😦
@@mumtazfaza9118 It wouldn't work anyway cus Anita in the live action wasn't even a friend of Cruella as she hasn't really paid attention to her as a person nor a friend until she saw the dalmatian inspired drawing. I love the Cruella from the live action more (probably because Glenn Close is my favorite actress of all time) and how she has her own fashion house and a sucessful career and it would be obvious how the Baroness has influensed her over the years if this movie were tied to the live action, but I think it'll be a mix of both, mostly the original although the timeline would match greatly to the 1996 movie.
It doesn't matter how the final movie turns out, those are some killer costumes. They're like a character of their own. The costume department should be showered with every possible award. 2:01 omfg what a train, 2:17 look at that skirt 🤯
The train at 2:01 is 40 ft long. She mentioned it in an exclusive interview
She is wearing dalmatians on 1:13
I just noticed the skirt at 2:17 is being used to cover up a trapped Baroness in her car. Clearly a flex on Cruella's part.
@@dougy_dawg Sure seemed like it.
@@user-lw5nl9dj7u Dalmatian prints* Real animals weren't used most definitely
the "trash" dress made me feel trashy. the costumes just consumed my whole existence! also, that army dress is 🔥 cant wait for the film
Her whole look & mood is very punk inspired. Love it!
Literally the trash look was something great and also when she appeared that's when it goes very cool
@@Janexcalibur agree. emma's cruella is very distinct from glen's since her cruella is more sophisticated and less playful than emma's. i just love both of their take on cruella.
@@misimatokastanley also the movement of the dress when she revealed herself. just wow! that dress alone is worthy of an academy award in the costume design dept
I visibly gasped when i saw her emerge with that dress. This movie better win something for costuming alone 🙏🙏
I would absolutely buy a look book with all of the design sketches and final costume pictures
I like what vibes cruella is giving off. She knows what she wants, she knows how to get it and she knows her worth. *Snap *snap *snap
I DIDNT KNOW THE TRASH DRESS WAS ACTUALLY LIKE A TRASH DRESS CAUSE IT LOOKS SO GOOD
I love that this isn't a villain sob story. Cruella was always nuts and always will be. This just shows her descent into even more insanity.
Yeah
That scene when she threw the ball and it landed on the kid's testicle
Yep she is already evil in the beginning
I absolutely love Cruella's looks. Jenny did it again! She's the true genius!
Yeah, LIKE WTF! IF SHE BECAME A DESIGNER she can easily become one. She is A LEGEND and she deserves all the award. She will always be a true LEGEND.
Jenny Beavan is a terrific costume designer and her work on Cruella is another masterstroke of hers since Mad Max: Fury Road.
@@ajpat9620 Yeah she won for Mad Max but undeserved because Cinderella should've won and just because Sandy Powell is more deserved to win
I feel like we all thought this would be a mediocre joke of a movie when it was announced, but now we're definitely gonna be watching.
(edit) I've seen it and it absolutely exceeded my expectations! Maybe because I was raised by a sociopathic mother, but this movie was far more emotional than I expected! Totally worth it!
Definitely
Don't get your hopes up. This might suck and Disney has tricked everyone several times with their infamous live-action films like The Lion King and Mulan.
@@ajpat9620 i knew Mulan would suck the moment they took out ALL of the fun things of the cartoon.
I'm rooting for this one 🔥
@@evanhansen5434 Everyone are about to find out if that movie is good on May 28. If it sucks, don't even bother seeing for it might just be a waste of time.
God working as a costumer for this movie must have been an absolute dream job.
it was!! 🥰 you can spot me at 0:51 haha
@@Britforever97 thats so cool!
@@Britforever97 wait… for real? 🥰🥰🥰😍 I love all the work in the movie. It was espectacular. I went to see it with my friends and we felt in love with the fashion and the music. Congrats !! We are fans of the entire team. It was amazing every outfit in the movie🥰😍
@@Britforever97 omg a celebrity!!
@@joenlymendoza1110 Yess haha! Thank you so much for these words, we are all super humbled by all the lovely feedback and I'm still so proud of having worked with Jenny :) let's hope The Academy will think the same!
The fashion/costumes in this movie were *chef’s kiss”* 😘🤌
Jenny Beavan is AMAZING!
Imagine having 47 looks in just one character, i mean-.
🖤 Fashion, the key component that ties this movie together. 🖤
The "the future" make-up is so badass. This year's Halloween costume checked ✅
If this movie won't win at least the oscars for: 1)Actress in a Leading Role, 2)Actress in a Supporting Role and 3) Costume Design, IT WILL BE TOTALLY UNFAIR!!!
Like, it will also be in contention for Best Makeup and Hairstyling, as well as Best Production Design as well (if it's possible).
Lord have mercy it just keeps getting better and better.
This movie better get good reviews and win a freakin Oscar award. Already looks like the best live action so far
Don't bet on it. What if it sucks?
@@ajpat9620 then don’t watch it.
@@sebastianorozco1114 Look, I'm being skeptical here given that Disney's live-action films had a mixed record to say the least. Look what happen to remakes of The Lion King and Mulan, as these movies were unremarkable.
@@ajpat9620 yeah I get you. You do have a point, I was just saying this one looks like it’s going to be one of the best live action remakes because 1 Emma stone is a great actress and she’s fit for the role and 2 based off social media reactions people are saying it’s really good.
@@ajpat9620 The Lion King never worked as it we’re animals without expression and dull voice acting. Mulan didn’t work as they didn’t stay true to the source material OR to the cartoon.
I hope they do a video on the soundtrack and how Florence + the Machine worked on Cruella's theme / the new trailer's intro.
Did you like it?they released it yesterday
@@muskankataria The song? Yeah I LOVE the song but I didn't see a video on them talking about the track and behind the scenes of it.
This movie should get the Oscar for Best costume design !!!!
Not so fast, as there's several films up for competition for Best Costume Design such as:
1. The French Dispatch
2. House of Gucci
3. Nightmare Alley
4. Dune
5. The Tragedy of Macbeth
6. Spencer
7. The Green Knight
8. West Side Story
You are right, but at least The academy should consider Cruella for a nomination
@@potri1820 Perhaps. But, everyone will see what happens next.
For now, it's best to sit down and relax.
And by the way, there's also a possibility that it might nab nominations for Best Makeup and Hairstyling, as well as Best Production Design. But who knows what's gonna happen in the future?
2:07 LMFAO I LOVE HER EXPRESSION
Me = EMMA STOP STARNG AT ME LIKE THAT
YOU KILLING ME
She really tapped into it
Disney is finely letting their villain origins be PG-13! Finally! And they let the villain stay the villain! I already love this movie!
*_May 28th is going to be fashionably cruel!_*
Just watched the movie! they made sure to keep her a villian (and proud of being a Villian) the entire movie!
It was actually REALLY good
@@joshhamburger5451 yeah it was great lots of twist and turns
Yeah this had a lot of violence, and murders.
Yes now let's remake malifacent and keep her a villain
@@sydneycatalano Cruella was defiantly 1000% better than Maleficent
0:06 her eye expressions are so epic 😍🤣😍
I love how we’re creating these stories where the villains weren’t just these evil beings to play the antagonist like in the originals, but we’re portraying them as broken people who had simply had enough 🖤🖤
The Pre-Thatcher period is emphasised very well. Cruella reminds me Vivienne Westwood in her early fashion career.
Yessss! You took that words right outta my mouth ever since the first trailer I'm been getting young Vivienne vibes! ❤
Well you British would know better than us Americans
I was hoping it would be that but in the end it felt more Galliano than Dame Viv
I feel like I’ve seen the entire movie with these tv spots
Yeah this does spoil some of the fashion reveals in the film.
Yeah 10 mins worth of footage, why see the other 100 mins? So since you’ve seen the “entire movie” how does it end?
@@bryancash9051 lol I can answer for Lid. twitter.com/JohnSpartan300/status/1393279977882226689?s=19
My hype went from “Ugh another mediocre Disney cash grab” to “WTF, I need to see this movie ASAP”
Cruella De Vil as she makes her entrance to the ballroom as she asks for a lighter brought back to The Dark Knight when the Joker introduces himself for the first time at the Bruce Wayne penthouse with Pennyworth getting startled. I like this story since it's Villain vs. Villain.
This is what’s making want to design more clothes. Just watched the movie. FLIPPING AMAZING OMG
music from the power scare of oceans 8 I could not be more obsessed ! I cannot wait for this
Every trailer and sneak peek gets me more and more excited! I can't wait! Only two more weeks! These costumes are amazing and I just know they are going to steal the whole movie! Jenny Beavan better win an award for this!
These videos are raising my expectations so high it is so difficult to wait till it's release
It gives me chills all these costumes and looks on these actors and Emma Stone looks ravishing, and Emma Thompson is so elegant. Wonderful actors/actresses, music and costumes!
God damn, 47 costumes for Cruella? My god. Can't wait to see them all.
Talk about the level of great craftmanship and dedication being made. Like, you tell that Jenny Beavan is one terrific costume designer.
Like, her work in Cruella is the best costume being featured in a film since Mad Max: Fury Road.

The costumes are STUNNING! 🔥
The car outfit scene made my jaw drop it was stunning
The costumes are everything..
Cruella was so good, Cruella should get a Oscar winning award and also Emma Stone because she did a amazing job being Cruella I already watched the movie 5 times and I still love it
The fashion dial here is 10 but they cranked it up to 12!
This truly looks magnificent
Watching this on Disney+ is tempting but... I feel like those costumes deserve the big screen, even if the nearest one is an hour away from where I live. To the movies I go!
Jenny Beavan could start her own fashion line with these stunning looks!
I am definately OBSESSED about this movie!
This movie is fantastic. Everyone complimenting the set and costume design but I thought the characterization and script were amazing. How they portrayed Cruella fits the bill on how I remember her on my childhood, but a bit toned down because she was made into the protagonist, which btw is HYPE.. seeing the different perspectives of disney characters are booming rn, like the Maleficent movie.
Jenny Beavan made it a incredible work
WoW! The best I've ever seen! Thanks so much!
I love this so much, please keep showing more its hyping me up
If there is one thing I'm excited for in this film it will be the fashion
Speaking of fashion, there's some films focusing on fashion:
1. The Devil Wears Prada
2. Phantom Thread
3. Coco Before Chanel
Cruella is my favorite villain, I am super excited for this to came out❤️❤️❤️❤️
Emma's performance is extraordinary.
Omg this is so beautiful, i’m obsessed 😍✨💄
My gosh this is gonna be amazing😍😳 this song in this trailer towards the end just gave me chills
You’re “early enough” congrats you found this
Thank You.

It’s a movie about freaking Cruella De Vil!!! The designs had to be this good 🤩
This movie is Just fashion eye candy withA+ acting, directing, cgi, and story line. Love it!!
I love her black coat with the shoulders. Just so pretty
Its so breath taking that you cant say YES! to watch this movie!!!

I saw it once and am thinking of going back to see what I might have missed. It’s sooooo good!!
OMG I AM VERY LOOKIN FORWARD TO THE DRESSES BECAUSE I REALLY WANT TO KNOW ABOUT THE CAPE THAT LITE ON FIRE AND WHICH FABRIC IT WAS OR WAS IT JUST EDITING.
One of the many reasons to watch is the clothes! And I bet on this to win the best costume...
I already ordered the checkered jacket with matching skirt and the red dress from shopdisney when they dropped this morning... So much money but NO REGRETS 😍🤩
Extraordinary work 🖤
Mind Blowing...
Jenny Beaven understood the ASSIGNMENT!
I love how Disney is keep promoting this movie. I cannot wait! Come on Friday May 28!!!!! Please! I want to watch this movie so bad!
The Costumes, Acting, Cinematography, Art direction, Music and of course the overall aspect of the movie is very Oscar worthy😍
Way too early to say that. Might as well wait for the review to come out by May 28, if it validates that point.
