I love the Cruella from the live action more (probably because Glenn Close is my favorite actress of all time) and how she has her own fashion house and a sucessful career and it would be obvious how the Baroness has influensed her over the years if this movie were tied to the live action, but I think it'll be a mix of both, mostly the original although the timeline would match greatly to the 1996 movie.

I feel like we all thought this would be a mediocre joke of a movie when it was announced, but now we're definitely gonna be watching. (edit) I've seen it and it absolutely exceeded my expectations! Maybe because I was raised by a sociopathic mother, but this movie was far more emotional than I expected! Totally worth it!

Cruella De Vil as she makes her entrance to the ballroom as she asks for a lighter brought back to The Dark Knight when the Joker introduces himself for the first time at the Bruce Wayne penthouse with Pennyworth getting startled. I like this story since it's Villain vs. Villain.
This movie is fantastic. Everyone complimenting the set and costume design but I thought the characterization and script were amazing. How they portrayed Cruella fits the bill on how I remember her on my childhood, but a bit toned down because she was made into the protagonist, which btw is HYPE.. seeing the different perspectives of disney characters are booming rn, like the Maleficent movie.
