I made 6 whp and 13lb-tq adding a drive shaft shop carbon fiber driveshaft (1 piece) and putting a 1.4lbs lightweight pulley on a 2015 STI. Total weight saving was 19 lbs(rotational drivetrain weight ). I posted the results on IWSTI 10 years ago. At the time drive shaft shop only sold one prior to mine and no one knew if the driveshaft would fit because it was for the previous model STI. We drilled the 4 holes and put thicker bolts to make it fit on the rear diff. Boston line, those 19 lbs weight reduction on the drivetrain on a mustang Dyno to all 4 wheels translated in a greater output of 6whp/13lb-tq with no changes on the tune, just a straight bolt on (prior to a custom tune). The engine revved faster and the drivetrain was very smooth (no vibrations).
So basically moral of the story here is to just leave the car alone and just enjoy it. Software, tune, fuel, and above all time is money lost for not a quality end result. Just track the shit out of this car as is. Love the car and the blacked out theme👌🏻
If you just want to have fun I would agree with you 100 percent! Good tires good brakes and done. I’m trying to race in a few different classes and need all I can get to be competitive. 😂
For the street, yes....but if you track the car. For such a low power car, gaining nearly 10% through the entire power band is worth while. Especially considering that you can also adjust throttle behavior etc.
Intake filter removed + Tomei non-appearing manifold + HKs Regamax Sports + no catalyst 57c 18 9.5j 38 mapped today. dynojet 216hp. Why is it so different from you? Octane rating is 94 or higher.
Well done on the video. A little bit off topic but what Recaro seats do you have and can you do a measurement from the seat cushion vertically to the roof liner? A bunch of us taller people are looking for seating that will give us more Headroom for our helmets at the track. Thank you in advance
Am I missing something. Stock was 208whp pump gas. 217whp pump gas tuned. 224whp e85. +7? Biggest gang was tune on pump. +9. On good e85 maybe +9, but what’s the cost to go to e85 vs just tune?
@@phelpsgarage4202 Lol. You think that UEL is what boxer engines sound like. That’s cute. I bet you think the WRC Imprezas had the “Subie rumble”. 😂 Literally nobody in the know has run UEL for twenty five years.
Wrong, the UEL's generally perfom better than the EL headers on this platform for whatever reason, just look at some dyno charts. Plus, sound is subjective. You might think its average, I think it sounds great.

your 86 its really beautiful !!!! i think the nicest i ever see!!!!
You haven’t seen a lot 😂 thank you for the kind words
Love your videos. I cant wait to start working on my BRZ, hope your channel keeps growing.
Thank you for watching! I’m hoping it grows too!
Very good results. A VQ37VHR on ecutek only picks up 12-15hp
Thanks!

Bummer on the small increase in power. But hey any increase is still an increase
Going back once the software is complete and we have better E85
@@you_can_fuck_your_own_ass_69 runs smoother and makes more power 🤷🏻♂️
Great Vid!
Thanks!
dude that murdered out look is sick on the gr. Must be a nightmare to keep clean but damn does it look good when clean
Thank you!
Great video! It would be interesting to see the tuned set up vs a completely stock car just for comparison sake.
Yeah, it would be cool just to see how they compare in maybe a drag race or roll race

Recaro pole position. I did a video of the seats a while back. It’s about 37 inches from the bottom of the seat to the headliner.
Did you say map 2 has auto blips? As in auto downshift rev matching???
Maps 2 and 4. And yes rev matching
@@phelpsgarage4202 holy moly! I can't wait to get an ECUTek now
@@Camhill182 I don’t think it’s 100 ready, but it’s pretty damn close. I’m gonna go back soon once they update the software and dial some things in.
@@phelpsgarage4202 so does the individual tuner perform the rev matching calibrations, or is that a feature of the ECUtek software itself?
@@Camhill182 both. It’s in the software, but the tuner modifies it table
What’s the paint job in this car? It’s perfect
Just paint correction and graphene coating
Love the wheel are tire setup. Would you share details??

Bro awesome Chanel I have a gr86 and too, what did you do to the exhaust exactly ?
JDL UEL header, 3 inch over/front pipe catless with HKS single exit exhaust
Great video. Your car sounds absolutely fantastic. Are the headers/front pipe catless?
Yep! 3 inch
To you have the info on the place you are having it tuned?
Location? Tampa somewhere, I’ve never been or heard of them.
an ITB mod would be ideal if it is available
.. or a turbo
Who's your tuner? I'm in Florida as well.
Try dirty racing up in north Florida. They will probably be turning my car.
@phelpsgarage4202 what wheels are those? And what's your wheel and tire spec? Fitment looks great!
Hey man getting dyno tuned soon did you do a flex fuel kit or does the car take e85 once tuned for it?
No, but we tuned for it. I’m gonna get a flex fuel sensor once it’s out.
@@phelpsgarage4202 ok great thank you 🙏🏼 love the car build so far
How was it only 650 every tuner I see is selling there’s ecutek kit and tune for 1k+
🤷🏻♂️
Why was every single pull except the last one done in 4th?
6:09 = 4th
8:30 = 5th
I’m not sure.. 5th is 1:1 I believe
First time tuner, just curious how much did your tuning session day you back?
All in was $650 with the license from ecutek

That UEL header is costing you power and making an average sounding motor sound even worse than necessary.
I have to somewhat disagree. UEL headers help with the torque dip and I enjoy the sound of a boxer motor
@TheTidal yeah I’m not looking for peak power, even though it’s nice to have. I want all the mid range where I’m always using it.

Not worth the money or danger for so little improvement imo. But then again if you got it like that money wise and dont need to worry...
