Malaysian mentality don't give complain and give also complain , I went overseas I asked why their cars tinted full dark including the front and they simply answer for safety purpose . Let me tell you criminals , snatch theft and robbers don't use dark tinted they use fake number plates, helmet , jacket and parang .

my comment on this issue :
    1. Good concept but bad execution. Because when he said 0%VLT, means people can put stickers all over their windows and put others in danger. What he should have said it 1% VLT minimum to ensure there is still some sort of visibility and glass is clean of stickers.
    2. Most people who disagree on this have not fully understand the whole issue. Tinting to maximum darkness is NOT compulsory. If you feel like you can’t drive with dark windows by all means don’t do it, but doesn’t mean others should follow you. Each to their own.
    3. This also will make recon users save some money by not needing to rent clear glass for puspakom inspection.
    4. If you say that this will increase crime, then you idiots go cabut all the curtain at home. Who knows your house might be a drug factory right? 🤷🏻‍♂️

I JUST COULDNT AGREE MORE THAN WHAT YOU SAID BOBBY!
it really really does make a a big difference when you have a tinted car esp for ladies driver as per what you said, when people cant see whose inside they tend not to touch/bully them and also for belongings to be placed inside cars.
and just cant understand why people kept complaining on various reasons especially on those mentioning how dangerous to drive behind a dark tinted car la, cannot overtake la, come on, how come you are able to stop or overtake when you're behind a lorry? behind a no window panel van? *facepalm*
1 thing i can suggest to overcome those who mention about security reasons for example criminals or kidnap whatever, when police set up roadblocks, just wind down all the windows so that everyone in the car is seen, anyway just my 2sens.

What Bobby didn't talk about is people's behavior when they know others can't see them. In my experience those dark tinted car drivers are always more rude. They don't yield because they know nobody will give them a bad look if they misbehave. They don't yield and squeezing into a que.

I think the only reason why PDRM aren't happy is because they know they'll lose a source of 'alternative' income, which just shows the mentality is still the previous government era. The argument about not being able to see criminals and all; just spend a couple of extra seconds and ask the drive to wind down the rear windows, even that also PDRM is so lazy to do

    • @BobbyAngmalaysia

Well done Bobby. Very good research. Just want to add up, the fees of RM5k is not only generating a revenue for the government, it is also a proper way for the government to establish a database of the car registered. This database can be used by the enforcement agencies for traceability purposes if something happens.

I believe some high quality tint allows vehicle occupants to look out but outsiders can't look in. Something like a one way mirror concept. The government should standardize the quality of the tint and not allow all types of blackout tints.

    • @lny4170

I believe there's a condition that there must be wing mirrors on BOTH sides, which presumes that basically one can monitor via the wing mirrors. In any case, even with dark tint, those in the car should have no difficulty looking out during broad daylight. And during the night, cars should have their headlights on anyway.

PDRM are enforcers, not lawmakers. In the separation of powers from a democracy, the enforcement pillar doesnt interfere with the lawmaking pillar, that's to ensure the enforcer does what it's supposed to do with fairness. For far too long, PDRM has been misused with an encroachment of power due to parties that wants to blur the boundary between enforcers and lawmakers.

Well say, I would say what transport minister does was correct.
I actually dunno why so much ppl are complaining for the rule implement, coz other ppl whenther have tinted black or not it does not bother u right?
Some ppl tinted for safety, some for personal preference, is all depend on the driver itself.
For PDRM, if their excuse is to say they couldn't see through whether the passenger has seatbelt on or not, I actually dunno what is the purpose, is it they want to just open saman for them?
The seatbelt is a safety stuff for the user to prevent huge damage when accident happen, it does not affect much to other road user, so the responsibility has to be the user itself isn't? If they care about their family or friends, then he should ask them to take the seatbelt on

Call a spade a spade, basically what the Transport Minister is doing is legalising something illegal for the rich. What next? Pay RM 10,000 per year and park anywhere you like? Pay RM 15,000 per year to run over red lights? When does it stop? However, good call on the vanity plates though, that's something logical to generate revenue.
