I played the KALA fretless and liked it alot! Then in addition to the instruments you introduce here, Alex, there’s BLACKSTAR 🇬🇧 w\ their Carry-on mini electric bass guitar 🎸 I play one, it’s a great instrument!
Very interesting. I`m in the market for a bass, although I have a Kala Rumbler and a LTD short scale bass. They hurt my fingers, and I really love the look of the semi hollow. Maybe there will come a semi hollow J bass someday 😄
I guess I can say this is a pet peeve of mine, I'm a stickler about the designation. To me the proper generic term is bass uke, just like the other uke designations; soprano uke, concert uke, tenor uke, baritone uke. Uke bass or ukulele bass is not consistent. I will only call the Kala a U-Bass because that's their specific model name. Since mid 2014, I've gone through 54 bass ukes/mini bass guitars, and now my collection will amount to fourteen RondoMusic Hadean violin/Hofner style copies. Let me add that Kala licensed the bass uke design from Owen Holt of Road Toad Music, which is why there's a toad on the faceplate of the Kala U-Bass.
Great video showing them all Thank You guys. I am LOVING the new colours on the Flight basses. 🥰
Bass and beards, I got everything I needed from this video. Lovely playing boys!
That final jam session was brilliant!

Hey any chance you have any advice on strings for the blackstar
Dr Google says its 23' scale so those kala stings will work and do a good job I'm sure.

What about Blackstar?
Thanks for the video? Can you tell me the weight difference between the Fender hollow body and a Kala hollow body ubass?
No idea but the fenders will be noticeably heavier
That’s what I was wondering, thanks!
Why so much fret buzz on the flight poplar?
Very light factory strings on the Flight, the audio is possibly picking it up acoustically in the room.
You don't mention intonation which I believe can be a problem with Flight
A change of strings makes the flights intonation as good as the Kalas that's a fair point
