    Thank you for putting this information out there for us to take part of! Have had burning mouth for several years now but just recently understood that it is one of the changes in my body connected to early menopause. Will try ALA for sure. Thank you 🙏

      I am post menopausal, I started having a burning mouth also. Found out I have developed an allergy to the mint flavouring in toothpaste. I now use toothpaste with no flavouring.

    Hello DR Vogel
    I just loved you're information & advice !
    I believe that my burning tongue could be caused by
    adrenal dysfunction , as well as being a breast cancer survivor.
    Low immune system that sort of thing . I've also development severe heartburn & I was wondering if that could be a reason for BMS?

      Hi Sally
      Great to hear that you love the information, thanks! Digestive problems could contribute to burning mouth so it is possible. I would suggest seeing a practitioner such as a Nutritional Therapist; they can formulate a personalised treatment plan for you taking everything into account.

    A Vogel, thanks for handling this topic: What about bad breath in menopause? Is that a genuine concern.

    • @AvogelCoUk
      @AvogelCoUk  5 років тому

      Hi Ann
      Yes, bad breath can be an issue. It can be caused by a number of factors such as receding gums, dry mouth or even a stressed liver. It is best to get a check by your dentist but you could also try the Milk Thistle Complex as well. This is known to help support liver health.

    I've had this burning mouth in my cheeks for about 3 weeks now. Its very unnerving. I'm so perimenopausal its horrible. Dry skin, thinning hair, can't loose weight. It's just hard, I had my teeth removed and the acrylic dentures are irritating looking for a hypoallergenic solution with the dentures. Taking supplements, drinking water and I still have dry mouth in the night ,and come and go with the burning sensation. I'm looking to balance my hormones and need to balance my estrogen and I get a breast cyst every so often always during my period. I have learned to take care of it myself, so please any help is appreciated deeply. Thank you for your time, I am grateful for your advice.

    • @AvogelCoUk
      @AvogelCoUk  3 роки тому +1

      Hi Krystal
      You may find a Sea Buckthorn Oil supplement can be helpful for the gums and some people also find taking a CoQ10, 100mg can be of benefit too.
      Try to have a small shot glass of warm water just before bed to see if that stops the night -time dehydration.
      Dry skin, thinning hair and inability to lose weight can be caused by poor thyroid function which often appears at this time so it may be a good idea to ask your doctor to test for this just to rule it out.

    Yes I have found since xmas eve I seem to be drying up a bit while talking. I have the anxiety bad too so I usually put this down to being panicky. In the last few days though I have felt like it's trying to develop into a cold maybe ? Naturally it makes me panicky that I'm not breathing properly or that my throat is going to close up. I dont know the difference between the anxiety and the menopause anymore.

      It is menopausal anxiety. I experienced this a couple of months back, really bad anxiety attacks, drying of mouth, a feeling as if something is stuck in my throat… consulted ENT and other specialists, got the tests done and finally the diagnosis is menopausal anxiety. I started serious workouts, meditation, increased water intake, used distraction techniques. trust me it helps. These videos are also very comforting. A big thanks to A. Vogel UK :)

I find that using aloe Vera as a mouth wash several times a day helps a lot and I also put turmeric all over my tongue and it doesn’t have much of a taste but it helps reduce the swelling on the tongue.....it comes and goes every few months

    • @AvogelCoUk

      Hi Toni
      Unfortunately, this can happen; often falling oestrogen can affect the teeth and gums resulting in loose teeth. Obviously, the first thing to do is check with your dentist and follow their advice but you can also take a calcium and magnesium supplement which may be of benefit for you. Your local health store should be able to advise you on the best one to take for your situation.

      Get on a birth control pill or if your Dr will prescribe you Prometrium micronized progesterone. At 47 your progesterone is declining cause ing weird stuff and then your estrogen will stop at menopause when your ovaries stop functioning. Get on Hormone replacement therapy ASAP before everything shrivels up and you lose your mind. At menopause we lose 2% of our bone every year for the first 5 years and 1% every year after unless we replace estradiol. You see by 65 we have lost 20% of our bone! After 10 years without HRT it will be nearly impossible to find a doctor to prescribe it because after that the cardiovascular system has become inelastic and it increases the chance of cardiovascular incidents. There is no time to waste. You have a lot to learn about menopause and a lot to do finding a good doctor.
