This is so true, but we keep going best we can. I sure do! My late mothers hands became very disfigured in her later years causing her to have difficulty doing the most basic things, but she never stopped trying. Virtual Hugs for you 🤗
I just wanted to add my method for opening jars that makes it so much easier for me: I put a rubberband around the lid edge (& sometimes around the jar as well). It gives the grip I need to get it open.
You never cease to amaze me, not just with your artistry in the kitchen, but the ease in which you present everything. Visuals are top notch as well. The tips are exceptional time savers and much appreciated from an avid cook and baker. Thank you for sharing your expertise. ❤

I have been given a large box of walnuts and thought I'd have a go at making walnut butter. Cracking ALL these walnuts has turned into a real mission. So I'm going to try your tip of boiling them in water for 3 minutes. If this works it will be game changer. Thankyou. 💜
These are great!!! Will be trying the 'drop the eggs into the bowl' tomorrow! That trick for cutting chicken for crisps and frying them for a salad is wonderful. So many tips to try! Thank you for sharing :) Update - tried the egg drop trick. It worked perfectly!!!
American eggs are washed and disinfected before being put in the carton. The covering on unwashed eggs saves them from spoiling. In the UK eggs are not washed and they are not refrigerated in stores. They do have cases of people getting sick from the bacteria on the shell every year, though. We don’t in the US.
I learnt the trick of saving butter wrappers to grease pans from my grandmother, back in the 70s. Now that I buy butter in tubs, I do it by folding up a bit of kitchen paper & scraping it in the butter.
All of your prep and cooking hacks are amazing! I especially liked the tape on the knife, silicone cups for eggs, placing a pin hole on fat side of egg and the paper plate over mixer bowl. I will try these first and then the others. WEBSPOON YOU CERTAINLY ARE A VERY AMAZING CHEF AND THANK YOU SO VERY MUCH FOR YOUR POSTS!!🎉♥️🙏👍
It’s not necessary to remove greens from their bin, just add paper towel to top of green and replace top. Store bin upside down in refrigerator. When using greens, replace paper towel with new sheet. Keeps greens crisp for much longer. Love the useful hints!
TeachKathy: "... Store bin upside down in refrigerator. When using greens, replace paper towel with new sheet." Brilliant - easy and I never thought of this!
You can also store salad in the fridge, sans the dressing, by simply placing in an airtight container, and putting a metal spoon in. Somehow, it keeps all the greens, including tomato, cucumber, etc, fresh for a two to three days 😁
I would give a thousand stars for 11:24 - THE BEST WAY to Cut an Onion Like a Pro (without cutting your fingers off!) love your videos... keep up the good work
For opening a stubborn jar, run the lid part of the jar under hot water. The heat will expand the metal. If you lay the jar on its' side, you can keep your hands from getting under the hot water. Also a rubber glove or rubber grip to open works.
Running water until it gets hot is a waste of time and money. I just bang the lid on the counter on 4 sides and it breaks the seal. I have never broken a jar doing it either.
Butter is a very versatile ingredient, and knowing these techniques will help make working with it in the kitchen much more enjoyable and efficient. ❤️👨🍳
Your hacks of spreading, cutting, and cubing cold butter are brilliant. They'll be really useful as I use a lot of butter. Also the ones you showed us on how to get hard boiled eggs chopped up for egg mayonnaise, so simple but amazingly effective. Thank you 👍.
Some of these I had heard of, though never tried. I have to admit the dropped egg in the bowl and the silicon muffin pan for poached eggs is new to me and definitely worth using. Every one of these are great tips. ❤
These are excellent tips. I have been using a version of one of these for many years, and I think I have an improvement on the one about freezing minced garlic. Sam's Club sells bags of peeled garlic cloves at around $10 for 3 pounds. I put all of it in my food processor and process until it comes to the consistency that I want for minced garlic. I then portion it out into small Ziploc freezer bags, flattening them out so they stack easily, about 4 or 5 bags full @ about 1/2 inch thick. I then stack them neatly and freeze them. When I need a clove or two (or more!) of minced garlic, I just slide out a bag, open it, and break off what I need. The garlic does not get super hard like ice, so it's easy to just remove what you need, zip it back up and return it to the stack you have. I use a lot of garlic, so this system has served me well, both with saving time and money. $10 for 3 pounds of garlic is ridiculously cheap, and it comes out of the freezer just like using fresh. The ice cube tray method in this video is helpful, but the smell and taste from the garlic being in the freezer without containment is possibly going to get into other foods, even into the refrigerator. Plus those portions are huge if you only need a small amount of a clove or two. Thanks for all of the tips!
I love it. I've found 1-2 of these techniques myself, helped by chance, but it would probably take me several years to do this many. You have to be born for this! 👌😉
Chef Alex, I need your jumbo eggs here in the US, I make 2-egg omelets just about every day for breakfast with different ingredients. Can you ship them here? Or can they be purchased here?
Excellent tips, especially those relating to garlic, eggs and opening stubborn glass jar. As a 75 year old I can't open cans and jars easily anymore ! Always have to look for someone with a bit of muscle!
So many of the "amazing hacks" on UA-cam are little more than reruns that we've seen thousands of times. THIS video had me thinking "now, why didn't _I_ think of that?"! Lots of great tricks, here--thanks! 👍👍👍 PS - New Subscriber!
I love these. And I never seem to remember them when I am busy in my kitchen. I need a wall hanging with hacks written out so I don't forget again. I love the slicing and parchment paper on the grill. Really very cool.
I use a bottle opener (also called a church key-flat edge on one side, pointed end on the other side) flat edge for the thinner lids on a jar instead of a counter edge. I’ve also used a thick rubber band. As an elderly person, I don’t have much hand strength anymore.
I just turn the jar upside down under running very hot water. I make sure the water hits under the lid rim. The heat makes the lid expand and easy to open. Works for pre-opened jars too that may have become stuck over time, like honey or jam jars.
For jars, I tap lightly with a tableware knife handle around the edge. It only takes a few taps to break the seal. Do enjoy the other techniques you've shown in this one, many of which I had never considered, especially the poached eggs.
Just look under the lid, find one of the areas where it is crimped to the jar itself, use a butter knife to pry up one of the crimps and you will hear the suction pressure release. It should open easily!
For the eggs and the whisk trick for boiled eggs. If you are boiling them for use later, add onion skin to the water. That way you can put the eggs back in the carton and you know which ones wee cooked.
I use a marker and put a HB on the end of my hard-boiled eggs before putting in the fridge. The first time my daughter saw this, she thought I had written HB for happy birthday on the eggs. Lol.
I accidently discovered the slicing garlic down the center method out of pure desperation to peel faster! This is true too of clipping off the hard tips and crushing the clove with a broad knife! Glad to see someone else who caught on😉
I love all these webspoon videos, and this recent series of hacks have been especially useful.... however!... Just went to show my daughter the measuring butter trick using the "Union Jack" marks, and discovered while practicing her maths and geometry, that there's a slight problem. In the UK at least, a standard block of butter is 250g not 200g, so the divisions don't work out to the convenient 25/50/100g portions. Other than that tiny glitch, thumbs up to all your great videos 👍👍😎
I buy olives in a gallon jar. It is wider than my jar opener. The only way I can open it is run my hot tap water for about five minutes over the top of the jar in a trickle and then hit it on the bottom and pray it breaks the seal. Most times it works!
I LOVE the "drop the eggs into the bowl" trick. I have trouble cracking eggs with the use of only one (small) hand. Better learning late than never but I really wish I had found out sooner.
We're glad you found the "throw eggs in a bowl" trick useful! It's never too late to learn new kitchen tricks and make cooking more enjoyable and accessible for yourself!!
Great tips! To open jars I use a small piece of anti-slip material that are used to line drawers etc. For herbs, I put in glass of water and cover the entire glass in the thin plastic bags supplied in rolls in the fruits and vege section.
So many good & useful tips & ideas! For those who have difficulty opening jars bc of strength, coordination, or other similar issues...perhaps try my method: Put a rubberband around the cap before twisting. It gives the needed grip/traction. It may be safer than implementing a utensil or the edge of a counter, etc. EDIT: Just an fyi- I've stopped watching this channel due to the repetitive, clickbait titles...which are so unnecessary. (Also, "+ free" ones? They're ALL free. Supposed to be funny?)

You need to check our butter in the UK these days, Anchor has cut theirs to 200gr. I buy from Farm Foods and theirs is 227 grs.
We are glad that overall you found the videos useful and appreciate your understanding. Happy cooking and learning! 👍😊
I buy olives in a gallon jar. It is wider than my jar opener. The only way I can open it is run my hot tap water for about five minutes over the top of the jar in a trickle and then hit it on the bottom and pray it breaks the seal. Most times it works!
That's a clever technique you've come up with to open the gallon jar of olives!😊👍
I love all these ideas , Thank you 😉
I thought I saw a shell in that second one
Great video. Thanks
I, too, love all of your hacks. These are very clever and useful.❤
Great tips! To open jars I use a small piece of anti-slip material that are used to line drawers etc. For herbs, I put in glass of water and cover the entire glass in the thin plastic bags supplied in rolls in the fruits and vege section.
Ty for all the wonderful hacks Chef Alex 😁 You make preparing food fantastic !💜
Fantastic tips! I will be using many of these in my cooking. Only 1 had I ever thought of myself. Thank you for sharing.
Happy cooking, and enjoy experimenting with these new tricks in your kitchen! 😊👨🍳🍽️

Sending you lots of love and appreciation to New Mexico! ❤️❤️❤️❤️
That's a fantastic tip, and thank you for sharing it! Thank you for contributing to the conversation and providing such a useful suggestion! 😊👍
@@WebspoonWorld Thank you as well. A pleasant comment community is one of the marks of a good channel :)

THANK YOU!
@@theresavancamp7575 A really tough one may need another rubber band around the jar itself. Glad I could be helpful :)
I tried the egg drop and it worked perfectly! I'm not going back to the old way anymore 😄

100%!!
You can leave butter out on the counter.
And watch it get rancid.
@@susanp.collins7834 We leave it out with no problem with it getting rancid, but once the temperature goes above about 70, it gets way too liquid. Good tips for the warmer months.
It doesn’t go bad! Lol
@@susancedio3801 organic butter/unprocessed butter will, esp in warm climates
