So just to give you some video ideas: - How to balance school/revision and social life - How to create an ideal workspace (although there are thousands of those videos I'd love to see yours) - Your favourite apps for studying/how you use electronics whilst you're revising - Your tips for learning a language/how to improve a language Hope you like some of these xx
If anyone’s watching this just before GCSEs I’ve written down the tips she said, so get off UA-cam and start actually revising instead of watching videos about how to revise (I’m guilty of that too lol) 1. Be selective - prioritise the things you don’t understand, make a checklist 2. Make a revision timetable 3. Avoid passive revision (instead: writing notes/flashcards) 4. Past papers and practice questions 5. Prioritise the A level subjects you’re going to do (+ english and maths) 6. Get enough sleep 7. UA-cam revision videos + take notes 8. Relax; you can’t change the past, but you can change the future so go revise!!
infires man dont worry! you can always bother doing some, if you really despise revision i would just practise questions just before your exam just to get in the mood of the paper xxx
Anya x yep same you are not alone, I just find revision boring, even if I revise to my favourite subject, I still don't like revision even though I know I have to do it
1. Be selective, stuff you dont know and need to prioritise, most important stuff first, Detailed list. 2. Timetable, take the selective list and manage it. 3.avoid passive revision! questions, taking notes Etc. NO READING! 4. Do previous papers, 2 a day or more, previous papers are the key, dont do it for every subject thoe. Discard subjects/topics you dont think will come up. 5. Priortise your weekest subject most of your energy should go into your most important subjects. 6.get enough sleep, excersize and eat the right food stay healthy and get the rest you need to have your best max performance. 7.stay relaxed, you cant change your past you can only erase it by doing whats right with the time you have left.
Thank you Eve for this video! I always panic a few days just before exams and procrastinate so I end up not revising much. Now I know what to do! All the best for your exams too!
Ugh its the worst when you haven't accurately spread out your revision so you've done about 9 hours of maths and 1 of history. I feel like i can't organise myself, even with a timetable because I'm so slow lmao
I just wanna say the part when u said about if you've left it this late there's obviously a reason and you can't change it that's actuslly super helpful for ppl considering how stressful this time is and how much people can beat themselves up over it x
Good timing! My tests start soon(2 weeks probably) and I've got a week left off of school and I've done no revision or homework! I honestly just cannot be bothered!
Navjot S Omg same, for this first week of half term I just wasn't motivated at all, I couldn't be asked to do anything, I only read through my notes and stuff but I'll do an hour today and tomorrow and then from Monday I'll full on revise for this last week, I'm even more stressed coz I have Welsh gcse exam Thursday 19th and it's just stressing me out coz it I don't pass it I'll have to resit it and do it all over again 🤦🏻😔
i have 3 weeks to my mocks!! i’m so angry for myself for not putting in the effort that i should 2 months before my mocks! but i only have 3 weeks now to make a big difference, like what Eve said 😭😭
Some tips here for effective learning! Do NOT waste your time writing notes. By this, I mean, first, go to the syllabus and write down just go online, and look at some summarized notes. Print them. From these notes, make questions. For example, you’re studying radioactivity in physics; write all the formulas on flash cards and get a piece of paper, any information that is written in the summary that seems important, just turn it into a question but don’t put the answer. See if you you can answer it when you’re done revising.
Thank you so much for this video! I have AS exams and I'm so scared. This video was amazing! Good luck to everyone in the comment section for your exams! Don't worry! You will do amazing!
Similar to what Sean said, flashcards+exam practice is what you need to do not note taking. Making notes takes forever and little is remembered at the end of it. Whereas flashcards and exam practice will comparatively take less time and be a gazillion times more effective
I really want to thank you for this video. It's really helpful. I have exactly three weeks to my A levels, and luckily i did start revising over a month ago. I've still been feeling like I'm not ready but with ur tips I feel like I will be ready when i use them
I would just like to thank you Eve so much. Even though A levels or GCSE's do not apply to me because I live in Australia and in year 8, your videos always give me so much inspiration.
Thanks Eve. I was sick at the start of the year. So I fell behind on my art project and so I had to work on it the last two weeks and have done no revision. Ily.
loved the video eve, would love to see more study with mes and also like something to do with how how to revise effectively for your gcses because its so hard to balance every subject xx
Maybe not, but I would still do them as they give you a somewhat idea of the exam. Also you can get practice exam questions maybe not directly from the exam board but I'm sure if you dig deep enough online you will find something useful.
Mr UA-cam Official ik same this scared me coz what am I gonna do now but then I just printed out past papers from like 2015 and stuff to get used to the exam questions, why couldn't they just leave it as it was 🤦🏻
I would say do all the past papers regardless if it is 9-1 because it’s still good practice I’m in year 11 and this is what I am doing before the exams
They have specimen papers and they should have English and maths from last year which were done in 9-1. I did mine last year and maths & English didn’t seem that different to the past papers, there’s just different stuff to focus on. You could also ask teachers for example questions too as they know the specifications better than anyone! (Except maybe the examiners). Hope this helps! ☺️
I was in the year for the first new English and maths papers and our teachers gave us the papers that examiners set after every term. They also made practice papers from scratch and using resources from educational UA-cam's for example Mr Bruff, he's legit amazing for English and you get some really unique ideas
Just realised my GCSE’s are in three weeks and I’ve completely avoided all men’s responsibilities. There couldn’t be a more helpful video for me right now. Thank you
Yeah this is me! I have really bad anxiety and I've been freaking out and having panic attacks whenever I even thought about school. It's getting better but now I feel really ill prepared; thank you so much for this!
I did no revision for GCSEs and was getting poor mock results, what got me to Bs, As and A* were UA-cam tutorials. Just binge them and you can do fine.
I decided to compile a little list of channels for you, the exam boards shouldn't matter much as they will only change a tiny bit of the content. Here is the list: pastebin.com/qMmCbhDj
Pls do a video on what to do on the exam day! Like if there's anything you should go over, what to go over, what not to go over. Especially if your exam is in the afternoon, how you can use that morning productively!
Yes! Not that i didnt do any revision but... I NEEDED THIS VIDEO!! 😅 Also, love how your SC stories keep getting recommended to me all the time. Love that 👐
Thank you soooooo much!!! Being home ed, everything relies on self motivation. I've gone through multiple family drama, I had to sell my dog, my horse got sick, I have to sell my other horse, everything in my life is organised by me - including school work and balancing horses (I was at the stables for 8 hours the other day) whilst trying to be focused. Family of 6 and everyone is either home ed or currently working from home and the distractions are insane. But hopefully I can pass this year because I'll be kicked out of my 1st choice college if I don't
omds this made me feel so much better! so glad i found your channel! I'm in yr 9 and have my end of yr exams coming and i literally have no idea how to revise, it's not like they teach us in school 🤷anyway going to watch the easter holiday revision now
Another hack that saved me last year for my maths GCSE was learning all the calculator functions. This included plotting graphs etc and a 4 mark plotting graph question came up and it required no maths just inputting the equation on the calculator in a special way. I ended up getting an 8 and I'm now doing a level maths, so if your really pushed for time this is so useful!! Good luck everyone :)
One thing I love is that you didn't make anyone feel guilty about not revising, I always feel really bad about not being able to do it cos of other stuff and it's really reassuring to hear "Don't worry."
I’m doing my GCSEs in two weeks and I haven’t even touched on five of my subjects...(I have eight).😬😬😣this really helped!you seem like such a nice person too !
Nochmal, Danke. 💜💜💜💜💜
Thank you EVE!!! I feel like I’m so behind and scared I won’t remember everything, I haven’t done like any work so far due to the lack of energy and motivation😫😫this is really getting my motivated x
thank you so much eve! This is literally just what i needed right now- I have my first exam on the second of may- and its really stressing me out but this video has made me feel a little bit better. Do you have any tips for additional maths qualification? I didn't do as well as i hoped in the mock and its really frustrating me- I need all the help I can get ! Thank you xx
Hello! Definitely do past papers but if you are on OCR they have like a practice workbook as well which hopefully your school will let you borrow. Just divide the number of pages by how many weeks we have left and do that many pages a week. It will get you really confident with the questions:)
hi! Thank you x I am doing OCR- I really want an A and I fell short of that in my mock- but I've never heard of the practice workbook- would i be able to buy it on Amazon? xx Tysm for your help
I've just checked and you can:) They have three different books: a revision guide, a practice book and the actual textbook. We use the textbook which is mostly just loads of questions but also guided examples which you can learn through. It's expensive new (£20) but if you get it used very good condition it will only be about £4 (including postage) - smile.amazon.co.uk/dp/0340869607/sr=8-1/qid=1523167486/ref=olp_product_details?_encoding=UTF8&me=&qid=1523167486&sr=8-1 Hope this helps:) And good luck!!!
Thank you Eve so much! I’ve been stressing so much and putting off revision as I want to be a performer and my school is widely academic. Thank you for calming me a little aha xxxxx

Luisa Lu yes!!
Definitely the ideal workplace, I haven’t got a clue how to make my desk optimum for revision
If anyone’s watching this just before GCSEs I’ve written down the tips she said, so get off UA-cam and start actually revising instead of watching videos about how to revise (I’m guilty of that too lol)

Chiuy I don't my English lit exam in year 10, some schools make you do one exam the year before so you have less exams in yr 11

When I say last minute revision... I meant mine is in a few hours
You're so motivational and realistic with everything! love it!x
wow i’m really gonna fail.
wow i’ve failed.

how did u do in your gcse’s
omds this made me feel so much better! so glad i found your channel! I'm in yr 9 and have my end of yr exams coming and i literally have no idea how to revise, it's not like they teach us in school 🤷anyway going to watch the easter holiday revision now
FlippitKJ damn
Needed this soooo much!
Year 10 has been/is draining...
hope it helps!
I still haven’t started revising and my exams start May 14th !!todays April 29th wtfff is wrong with me ahh
One thing I love is that you didn't make anyone feel guilty about not revising, I always feel really bad about not being able to do it cos of other stuff and it's really reassuring to hear "Don't worry."
Who else hasn't started revising for the gcse's next week?
I’m freaking out about my alevels and all your videos help keep me calm and keep me going thank you sooooo much x
can you do best way to revise for Spanish because I find it so hard, also any geog tips?
I’m doing my GCSEs in two weeks and I haven’t even touched on five of my subjects...(I have eight).😬😬😣this really helped!you seem like such a nice person too !
Nochmal, Danke. 💜💜💜💜💜
This was so helpful and also your eye makeup looks AMAZING x
Absolutely love all your videos I feel like I’ve done lots of revision but I’m so scared that I’m not retaining any of it!!😅😭😂
honestly same x
Thank you EVE!!! I feel like I’m so behind and scared I won’t remember everything, I haven’t done like any work so far due to the lack of energy and motivation😫😫this is really getting my motivated x
thank you so much eve! This is literally just what i needed right now- I have my first exam on the second of may- and its really stressing me out but this video has made me feel a little bit better. Do you have any tips for additional maths qualification? I didn't do as well as i hoped in the mock and its really frustrating me- I need all the help I can get ! Thank you xx
good luck! and honestly do past papers until they come out your ears, that's all i did x
Thank you!! Xx
It's expensive new (£20) but if you get it used very good condition it will only be about £4 (including postage) - smile.amazon.co.uk/dp/0340869607/sr=8-1/qid=1523167486/ref=olp_product_details?_encoding=UTF8&me=&qid=1523167486&sr=8-1
Hope this helps:) And good luck!!!
Thank you Eve so much! I’ve been stressing so much and putting off revision as I want to be a performer and my school is widely academic. Thank you for calming me a little aha xxxxx
