A great album to own in my opinion is 1967-1970 by The Beatles. It has all their best songs on it, and if you also get 1962-1966, the counterpart to it, you get all their amazing songs.
It bothers me that you had to censor Nevermind's cover because of UA-cam...I understand, but it bothers me...

I know this comment came a little bit late. But I just found put about your channel, I'm a Costa Rican audiophile and I totally agree with your picks, I love the versatility of your taste, and of course if you love jazz, you should seek Scenery from Ryo Fukui as well
I’d add the Franklin Mint Greatest Jazz recordings of all time series. These were curated collections of incredible music that are pressed on high quality red vinyl that plays beautifully with almost no noise even on a less than ideal setup. They were sold in the early 80s as a subscription and were kind of popular. Best thing about them is you can get them for a good deal usually since there are a lot floating around. The Miles Davis set is unreal. Any of them are great and well worth the low prices they command. A great addition for any music lover
I got Nevermind at Guitar Center, I think it’s 180 gram, it’s definitely a reissue. I got it when I first started collecting records. When I opened it and set it on the turntable, i was surprised on how heavy it was!
Mike Oldfield's Tubular Bells, Steely Dan's Aja, and The Edgar Winter Group's They Only Come Out At Night are also some of rock music's ubber classics. Great Jazz can be found on Miles Davis' Bitches Brew.
Yass! I love Good Old Fashioned Lover Boy, its one of my favourite songs! I was just about to say that he should've added a Queen album, either Queen, Queen II, A Night At The Opera, Jazz, Hot Space, Innuendo, A Day At The Races, News Of The World, Sheer Heart Attack, Made In Heaven, The Works, The Game, A Kind Of Magic, The Miracle, Queens Greatest Hits, Flash Gordon. Either one would've made me happy.
"Close to the Edge" by Yes - The art work of the legendary Roger Dean at its best on a folding record sleeve is reason enough justify the existence of LP records, includes one one of the best Rock albums ever, the pinnacle of Prog Rock. Add some classical music: "Star Wars", the original motion picture soundtrack by John Williams and the London Symphony Orchestra George Gershwin "An American in Paris" by the New York Philharmonic and "Rhapsody in Blue" by the Columbia Symphony Orchestra conducted by Leonard Bernstein (and piano by Leo B.)
I must say you are like a door to door vinyl sales man, not quite a bad thing. I did check out the London Grammar from your first Top Records and purchased it. It is some awesome late night music and enjoy it very much. Thank's!
such a surprise seeing those particular Sade records being your favorite, simply phenomenal albums.. every time I turn them on I am instantly transcended from my body
Pat Benatar albums: In The Heat Of The Night, Crimes of Passion, Precious Time, Get Nervous, Live From Earth, Tropico, Seven The Hard Way, and Wide Awake In Dreamland. Genesis: Invisible Touch. Phil Collins: Face Value and No Jacket Required.
Great stuff, I am always looking for new music - I had to clap out loud for Sade.. always great on vinyl! Also, ashamed to admit, Bee Gees in general just sound "rightest" on vinyl!
If you like Nirvana, than MTV Unplugged in New York is an absolute MUST HAVE album. Truly one of the greatest live performances of all time. Cobain's haunting rendition of "Where Did You Sleep Last Night" alone is worth the full price of the album.
Such great heights is a cover and the postal service's give up give the same kind of feel to our endless days but with more synith and electronic sounds.
Kings of convenience - glad you included it. 2. Yumi Zouma - all 3. Acid House Kings - all 4. Gene - Olympian 5. Stone Roses 6. The Clash - Combat Rock 7. Oasis - Definitely Maybe 8. Lemonheads - Come on Feel 9. The Jam - All Mod Cons 10. Morrissey - Your Arsenal

+Randolph the frog & jack thank you so much Randolph and Jack! I’m so glad you enjoy her work as well! You’re right, that’s both her name and the name of her band, I’ll be sure to mention that in the future haha. Her voice is so crystal clear and smooth that it’s on a higher level compared to other artists. Thank you for also spreading the word about my channel! It is SOO cool you included Kings of Convenience! I love them and own all 3 of them. Cool choices, although I would definitely add Nine Inch Nails' "The Fragile" to the list. One of the first records that I ever wanted to get and one that I'm surprised hasn't been featured on one of these videos yet is Queen's night at the Opera
Song of the day, "Personal Jesus," by Johnny Cash. Cover during his "American Recordings" originally done by Depeche Mode. We own the Legacy Edition of "Kind Of Blue" by Miles Davis., We play it at least once a week in our office.

~ Personal cheers to this video: We played Oxygene early in the evening in dance clubs in 1976-77, so it might sound like 1980s synth, but it pre-dated all that! I have the 1991 cassette album of Nirvana's"Nevermind," as well as two singles from it, "Smells Like Teen Spirit & "Come as You Are." The 1990s I heavily got into pre-recorded cassettes, especially singles, but never stopped doing the 7" single thing! Cheers to featuring the 1970 "ABC" album by the Jackson 5, with the notable Funkadelic track from 1969, "I'll Bet You." Speaking again of the great French world rhythms of Jean-Michel Jarre', see also 1988's " Revolutions," and literally anything on LP, 12" or 7" by French superstar, Cerrone. Please in your videos regarding records, please mention the original release year dates. Helps put all the music artists and genres and titles in proper perspective. BTW, I have every Sade 7" + any available picture jackets, but no LPs at all, so that segment of particular interest . Cheers, DAVEDJ ~
Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness. A must have for me. A bit hard to find at a decent price but I will have it soon enough. Speaking of which song of the day - Beautiful by Smashing Pumpkins
Steve Perry - For the love of strange medicine. Uriah Heep - Wake the sleeper, Into The Wild, Sonic Origami. Asia - Xxx, Aura, Aria. Toto - Tambu. Boston - Walk on, Life love and hope. Kansas - Freaks of nature.
My favorites are Mike Oldfield's Tabular Bell's & Platinum. Tangerine Dreams Exit & the soundtrack to the movie "Thief" early 80's. The Ventures "Walk Don't Run" (1960).
My top records: Look At Us - Sonny and Cher With Love - Cher Backstage - Cher Jackson Highway - Cher Gypsys Tramps And Thieves - Cher Stars - Cher Cher (self titled) - Cher Heart Of Stone - Cher Love Hurts - Cher Born To Die - Lana Rey Lust For Life - Lana Del Rey God Bless Tiny Tim - Tiny Tim Tiny Tims 2nd album - Tiny Tim (lol i dont collect from alot of different artists)
I have several records of Jean Michele Jarre. Oxygene remains one of my favorites although a bit warn out from several decades of usage. I enjoy on other vinyl such as Herb Alplert .and the TJB Going Places, Pnk Floyd Dark Side of the Moon, Dave Brubeck Time Out, Alan Parson's Project Pyramid and I Robot and many more.
Top records to own (according to me): Can - Ege Bamysai, Tago Mago, Future Days King Crimson - In the Court of the Crimson King Marvin Gaye - What's Going On, Here My Dear Milton Nascimento - Clube da Esquina Miles Davis (apart from Kind of Blue) - Bitches Brew, Tribute to Jack Johnson, In a Silent Way, On the Corner, Live-Evil Talking Heads - Remain in Light Talk Talk - Laughing Stock , Spirit of Eden Alice Coltrane - Journey in Satchidananda Charles Mingus - Black Saint & the Sinner Lady Eric Dolphy - Out to Lunch Mahavishnu Orchestra (my favourite band) - Inner Mounting Flame, Birds of Fire Nick Drake - Pink Moon Magma - M.D.K. So glad Sade was on here! My mom was a major fan of hers and I wound up loving her too. I was just looking at one of her greatest hits albums on amazon earlier today. I may get it. I think this video was a sign lmao
Man, I just want any album that includes the song Midnight, the Stars and You. While it's the end credits song from The Shining, that album is nearing 300 USD. And since it's recorded by 2 different people in 1934, it's been difficult to find let alone own the album.
Thank you for suggested Bohren & Der Club Of Gore - Sunset Mission. Very interesting album. I should find a copy :) I really like Kings Of Convenience too. I own their 3 CD album but on a plan to get their Record album also. Greetings from Germany !
Top 10- R.E.M. - Automatic for the People, Murmur, Reckoning, U2 - Joshua Tree, Sting- Nothing like the Sun, Sugar- Copper Blue, Bob Dylan- Blood on the tracks, The Cure - Disintegration, Simple Minds- Once Upon A Time and Stone Temple Pilot’s- Purple.
What about the early records of the German group Kraftwerk? They're super hard to get your hands on, especially the original ones, not the remastered ones. And what about An evening with John Denver Live? I was soooooo super lucky to get a original copy, sealed, 40 years old, it was a really strange feeling to open that record...
Highly recommend: -Moody Blues: Days of Future Passed; freaking incredible -Procol Harum: Procol Harum (especially A Whiter Shade of Pale) - and basically everything from Harry Nilsson!!!
"Random Access memories" by daft Punk. One of the best Records i heard so far. Sound Quality is fkin perfect. Songs Like "Instant Crush", "Get lucky" or "lose yourself to dance" included. "One more Car, one more Rider" by Eric Clapton. Best live Album ever released. Amazing Sound (especially for a live Performance!!) Great Artwork, in Vinyl since Last year. "Genius loves Company" by Ray Charles. Duets with big musicians as BB King, Natalie Cole, Elton John, Norah Jones etc. And the Version of "Fever" is amazing. "Cold water burning skin" by Fieh. Soul/Funk/Jazz group from norway. Chilly vibey Album with many Musical ideas. Smooth female voice in top on shuffled Beats Mixed with synthesized and analoge Sounds. "Supernatural" by Santana. Best Album ever. Simple explanation.
I don’t know if it’s on vinyl but Miles Davis Dark Magus or Santana’s Lotus (that is on vinyl currently and the version I picked up a couple of years ago sounds great. But the best version I have heard is the 4.0 Japanese SACD (don’t get bent out of shape, I think we can all agree that at the end of the day it’s the music not the format)). Anyway I love your show, I look forward to future episodes. But seriously, if you already haven’t, check Dark Magus out!

Either one would've made me happy.
Yeenosaur just about every Queen album is amazing
That's why every Queen album is listed, the ones in which Freddie was around to see anyways apart from greatest hits, but that's pretty iconic too.

OK Dude, I subscribed to your channel this morning when UA-cam in all its wisdom put your video on the 10 things about Tool in my cue. However, you just broke onto a new level of "Like" with me and my amphibian partner in Crime and you are definitely on a trajectory to advance to our "Love" level at breakneck speed. The fact you dig SADE was the clincher my new friend. I rarely allow one listen to be responsible for forming my opinion of a song or a band but SADE was one of the few exceptions to my hard fast rules I employ in my listening process. Upon hearing her Diamond Life cd in July of 1984 I was sold and I have been stone cold in love with them ever since. The only kick I have with your comments is that you did not mention that SADE is not only her name but it is the actual name of her band of exquisite musicians who have been with her since the start. They are the tightest smooth jazz band on the planet period ...end of discussion. I plan on sharing your work with all of my friends and THAT one act is in itself, the best compliment I can extend to you and your channel. Thank you very much for pleasing this old Hippie and my frog Randolph digs you as well......jack

So glad Sade was on here! My mom was a major fan of hers and I wound up loving her too. I was just looking at one of her greatest hits albums on amazon earlier today. I may get it. I think this video was a sign lmao
I will certainly check out some of your recommendations, thanks. 😀👍
I am surprised that Led Zepplien IV was not included, great channel and videos!
Love your recommendations! Could there be a part 3?
Man, I just want any album that includes the song Midnight, the Stars and You.
While it's the end credits song from The Shining, that album is nearing 300 USD.
And since it's recorded by 2 different people in 1934, it's been difficult to find let alone own the album.
A suggestion for song of the day could be “ fragile bird” by city and colour . The whole album it’s on is amazing start to finish . Cheers!.
Thank you for suggested Bohren & Der Club Of Gore - Sunset Mission. Very interesting album. I should find a copy :)
I really like Kings Of Convenience too.
Highly recommend:
-Moody Blues: Days of Future Passed; freaking incredible
-Procol Harum: Procol Harum (especially A Whiter Shade of Pale)
- and basically everything from Harry Nilsson!!!
Listening to 'Miles Davis: Kind Of Blue' record is like going to Heaven,...first class!
I love that you have Miles Davis and Jean Michel Jarre on this list.
The marshal mathers lp is such a good album and I think it’s in my 2nd favorite album
Where do you find new vinyl releases online? If there is such web side..
Love your videos man I’m new to the channel
Song of the day: Breakfast In America by Supertramp
I got lateralus on cd and honestly. Its a transcendent experience.
I definitely recommend Odyssey/Scala by Tesseract. Fantastic and decent live album of its finest (my favorite vinyl record to own as well)
I don’t know if it’s on vinyl but Miles Davis Dark Magus or Santana’s Lotus (that is on vinyl currently and the version I picked up a couple of years ago sounds great. But the best version I have heard is the 4.0 Japanese SACD (don’t get bent out of shape, I think we can all agree that at the end of the day it’s the music not the format)). Anyway I love your show, I look forward to future episodes. But seriously, if you already haven’t, check Dark Magus out!
