My favourites that I have on vinyl: Regatta De Blanc by The Police Bat Out Of Hell by Meatloaf Best Of Blondie I don’t have many records but I’ll get more and more of my favourites.
Jarrett, I made a killer playlist from listening to your video. I just excluded Master Of Reality so that all the music blended together perfectly. Then I sent the playlist over to my son. Thanks for showing the 10 favorite albums from your collection. You have exquisite taste in music. And don't worry, I won't buy a Crosley turntable. My all-in-one stereo just recently stopped playing records. I'm here in San Diego trying to cope with lockdown and your videos are saving my sanity.
I'm glad i subscribed to your channel, i don't usually pick up vinyl's/cd's that I don't know or can't test out in shops just in case I don't like the music but I really like Robert Rich's Nest vinyl/cd, I just finished listening to the whole album and it's so calming, your channel is really good for introducing artists we may not know! I've been listening a lot to the soundtrack for both Ori and the Blind Forest and Journey! The vinyls are simply stunning :)
Just subscribed to your channel. I recently got back into vinyl from over 20 years ago. Thank you so much for all the great information your giving to the vinyl community. I just listened to "Sunset Mission" which is amazing!. I'm listening to Robert Rich as I type. Sade is one of my all time favorites. I still remember her debut in the early 80"s.
Great selection for you're current "top ten". love seeing The Cure & Sade in there. I can guarantee I'll be buying at least three of the albums you gave a quick review too.
I plan on getting, Marika Hackman. Agnes Obel. & of cause Sunset Mission! looked into that when you first mentioned it a while ago, it's in my Amazon basket!lol. Now I'm gonna cheat a bit here, my current top ten is, 10.The Stooges (1969 album) 9.Geno Washington and the Ram-Jam Band : Hand Clappin foot stompin' Funky-Butt...LIVE ! 8. Jamie T - Trick 7.The Rifles - Big Life 6. The Stone Roses - The Stone Roses. 5 Moby & The Void Pacific Choir - These Systems Are Failing. 4 The Last Shadow Puppets - Everything you've Come to Expect. 3 Setting Sons - The Jam 2 The Rolling Stones in mono (box set) 1 Joy Division - Unknown Pleasures, Closer & Substance. told you I was cheating a little...lol.
+Vinyl Eyezz yeah my friend and I are 17 and 16. The cure has been one of our favorite bands. We were raised on music from the 80's. We have been going to record stores for along time now and have accumulated a lot of stuff. And your videos make us like vinyl collecting even more!
Great choice with Jose Gonzalez. If you haven't yet I recommend listening to Ben Howard. His album I Forget Where We Were would definitely be my number 1.
Could you help me?!? I have unfortunately already bought a crosley, I didn't listen vinyls on it though for a few weeks now and instead used the aux input to listen to songs from my phone because my vinyl collection isn't that big yet. Yesterday I wanted to listen to a vinyl again and as I moved the arm towards the record, the turntable didn't start moving! I already removed the aux cable and also tried to let it be unplugged for a few hours. I googled a bit and decided to change the belt but that didn't do anything... Please help me as I really want to be able to listen to my small collection again...
i love that you use sade, lovers rock as a reference. I do the same thing with sades album promise, the track is it a crime is a great song for any adjustments I have to make with my set up. great bass lines, vocals and overall great ambient sound.
Nice list! Could I give you two additional suggestions ? Donald Fagen (of Steely Dan) "The Nightfly", his first solo effort with stunning aural perfection. The record is for many recording and mastering engineers the gold standard for sonic balance and dynamics. And: "24 years of hunger" by Eg&Alice. An almost forgotten near perfect album from the early 90s, collaboration of two british singer/songwriters. Supposedly recorded in a home studio. Amazing arrangements and very tasteful and effective mixing as well.
Enjoyed the feel of your mix,......after I went off and checked out the ones I didn't know,....athough I couldn't find Om. A few thoughts came to mind as I listened. 1: Always preferred Equinox myself. 2: Twin Peaks came to mind, maybe the slow haunting dark theme? 3: I feel I need to listen to Portishead's Dummy, one of my favourites. 4: Something reminded me of Brian Enos soundtrack Apollo.....hot slow thick and liquidy 5: I love Sade too, I think she's great while you're setting the mood over dinner and wine or two, but then it's time for Fiona Apple, Tidal....just to move the night along😁 Anyway, just a few thoughts. Have a good one😁🖖
Nice eclectic choice of favorite records. I'm glad you didn't just pick the albums everyone knows about. Very good, I really liked your 2 first place choices, I have both of them as well. Bohren Un Der Club Of Gore is excellent, all there records are cool, very dreamy/atmospheric, really enjoy the slow beat & Sax. An interesting side note about them, at one time they were a speed metal band, guess they got tired of that! Robert Rich is also fantastic, he has so many CD's, I have them all, have seen him many times in concert, a very nice guy to boot. He also collaborates with many artists, Steve Roach another guy I would recommend.
Hi, I have just had an issue come to light with my system. Just got a brand new vinyl in the post and it sounds very distorted. Left speaker is cutting in and out of the high end. So I try another vinyl that I know is all good. Same sort of thing intermittent high end loss on the left speaker. Any idea what's happened and how to fix? Cheers
I'm somewhat new in the audiophile community and I had some questions about getting into vinyl. I have a fairly nice early 90's Technics tower, I have everything except a turntable. I would love to keep up the Technics theme I have going, so what are some good Technics turntables for $60-100 used? There's so many and I really don't know which ones are good. Thanks!
Just ordered STYX's The Grand Illusion, Pieces of Eight and Paradise theater from Discogs. Which I find to be STYX's three greatest album records. Thanks for sharing your list!!
Oh yeah! Master Of Reality, I have that album amazing! I also have Paranoid and Technical Ecstasy. Into The Void is definently my favorite song on that album..I would say all of them are awesome
Yeah, I picked up Sunset Mission at your recommendation and after hearing it on UA-cam several months ago. It's all great though some might say samey, but it really chills me out and gives me the feeling of being in a smokey pool hall bar after hours on a stormy night without all the carcinogenics and hangover the next day. If I had to choose, I'd say the last track is my favorite, with that deep bass greeting and stormy sax and keys, finishing off with bass and then thunder at the end. A perfect finish to an amazing jazz noir soundscape.
From my comment on the Sunset Mission UA-cam video: "An indifferent lover. You don't care about me, but your body is warm and inviting. At least we can find momentary contentment and relief in each other's arms."
ive been thinking about getting a turntable for a while now. as someone with an audio technica lp130 i was wondering if you knew how it compares to the pioneer 500. im not sure which of the two to get
I've seen some videos that collectors have been doing lately to show off their 10 most expensive records in their collection, according to the Discogs marketplace statistics. Would love to see you do that.
Black Sabbath - Master's of Reality for sure! And I like Sade too, in fact I just picked up Diamond Life for .99 cents at a thrift store. The hunt for vinyl and crate digging is great fun!
great video man I agree sunset mission is uncomparable to any thing else. BTW : what cd player do you use and can you please do a video on it I would love to see it
~ Songs Of The Day Picks: Smooth Sailin'," by Leon Bridges, 2015, Faces / Rod Stewart - You Can Make Me Dance, Sing Or Anything (Even Take The Dog For A Walk, Mend A Fuse, Fold Away The Ironing Board, Or Any Other Domestic Short Comings), 1974, and Here Comes My Baby (The Cat Stevens song), by The Tremeloes, 1967. Love vinyl, enjoy your videos regarding them still!! Cheers, DAVEDJ ~
I still own my original mint copy of The Cure's 1989 Disintegration. Purchased back in the Spring of 1989 at Tower Records in NYC. Love Sade since purchasing Diamond Life in the Spring of 1985. I have all her albums. Huge huge fan of hers. She's amazing in concert.
The cure Disintegration is so good. After 27 years of listening to it ,it's just incredible. I recommend "Wish" by the cure as well. Unfortunately that album is not on vinyl.
I could recommend a couple of Jean-Michel Jarre albums; Revolutions & Images. Images is a mix including tracks like Equinoxe, Oxygene and Magnetic Fields. A couple of other favourites; The Cure - Kiss Me, Kiss Me, Kiss Me & The Alan Parsons Project - The Turn of a Friendly Card
Is your release of Master of Reality the 2010 Rhino reissue or a previous pressing? I hate the 2015 reissue cause the packaging aren't faithful to the original. That doesn't has the embossed text.
"Oxygene" is legend. It not only "rocks", it also "new ages" :)) since 1976. I have been listening to it since the early 1980s without any loss of enthusiasm. I do not have the vinyl, instead a remastered CD now, although I earlier had a listening experience with vinyl. Try his other albums as well, and his earlier works with Christophe. By the way he is the son of Maurice Jarre, the composer of Dr. Zhivago, Lawrence of Arabia and many more.
Great video! Just a quick question, do you like/listen to Green Day (they're my faves lmao) and if you do, what's your favourite song? I don't think I've heard you talking about them so I'm curious😉
Could you include the label on which record is in the future? I noticed that your Jean-Michel Jarre was on Polydor/PolyGram, which dates the pressing to the mid-1980s. Peace.
OK Vinyleyezz. You seem to really be able to find a lot of good information about records. I hope you can help me. I've read that the first 45 record released by RCA was Texarkana Baby by Eddy Arnold 48-0001 but I've also read that Pee Wee the Piccolo 47-0146 was the first. I have not been able to find out definitively which one actually was first. I would really appreciate any help you could give me.
I have 11 records. In my collection Never mind the bollocks heres the sex pistols Pink floyd- dark side of the moon Pink floyd- The wall Nine Inch Nails- Pretty Hate Machine White stripes- icky thump 7 inch Nirvana- Nevermind Jimi hendrix- electric ladyland Frank Zappa- Hot Rats Metallica- Metallica Tool- Lateralus Tool- Undertow
Does anybody else get reminded of Patrick Bateman talking about Genesis in American Psycho? Like, every time this guy speaks its like that and its fantastic
If you like music like Jarre, it might be worth checking out Tangerine Dream. And as Jarre some earlier stuff is right. "Tangram" is one great album, as is "Exit", they evolved with time and one very good one that is somewhat later is "underwater Sunlight". Try them, you might like it...
Sgt. Pepper was featured in a record video of his Volume 1 or 2, which btw he showed a picture of to make a point but DID NOT have the album at the time of the video. OMGawd...
My 10 favorite records in my collection are Ultraviolence - Lana Del Rey Demon Days - Gorillaz No World - Inc. Good News for People Who Love Bad News - Modest Mouse How To Be A Human Being - Glass Animals Belladonna of Sadness - Alexandra Savior Urban Flora - Alina Baraz LP1 - FKA Twigs Vows - Kimbra The Altar - Banks
+Seth Swimmer it's awesome! I also recently picked up their album "God is good" which is also fantastic! Thinking about buying a band T-Shirt from them soon!
I think it's is a great list in your collection. It is hard for me to have a favorite or even several favorites. With 940 record albums in the collection, it would be difficult for me to pick favorites. I like your list though.
so when you listen to your favorite albums do you A full on surround sound speaker system volume up to 11. Or B a really good pair of headphones! Or C both because why not variety is the spice of life. and no pink Floyd zeppelin? so what's your favorite top 10 popular albums just curious. Sabbath the cure counts but you said them already.
Good day! Greetings from Malaysia 😊 I'm a beginner and still in search for a good turntable. Just wanna ask you if its ok if I buy Audio Technica AT-LP60-USB - its fully automatic belt-drive stereo turntable. Its only RM677.00 (USD158.78) Your opinion wanted! Thanks in advance 😊😊😊
I just bought a copy of Om's "Advaitic Songs" and it is due to come in about a week and I think that it will be my favorite vinyl from my collection together with "Dopesmoker".
Vinyl Eyezz Also, I find your view on that album interesting. I always thought of "Advaitic Songs" as a chill and meditative record. I love to sit down and listen to the percussion and to the strings and stuff like that. I love hearing other people's views on music. Btw, keep up the great work! Love from Romania!
My favourite records are: Dark side of the moon 2.4.6.8 Motor way (45rpm) Bad Abbey road ANY E.L.O Tea for the tillerman The wall Bursting out (jethro tull live) Aqualung Sgt Peppers lonely heart club band
I was honesty expecting a Radiohead record. Vinyl collectors who are into electronica, experimental, art, post-prog, contemporary, krautrock etc usually have one of their records.
Hi, looking at Your top 10 I am certain you will love Joni Mitchell. You should listen to Joni albums such as Heijra(1976) Hissing of summer lawns(1975) Night ride home (1991) Turbulent indigo-Grammy nominee(1994) or Taming the tiger(1998). I have Night ride home on vinyl, but the other 90s albums I believe only are on cd. Anyway. You are missing out if You have not checked out Joni. She is definately among the biggest influences of the women artists you already like.
You should do a full record collection video
Harry Whitehead he has
Harry Whitehead Can anyone link me to that video 'cause I'm new to this channel. Thanks!

I honestly thought lateralus was going to be number 1. Its in like 90% of your videos
Lol it's even in this one
Jarrett, I made a killer playlist from listening to your video. I just excluded Master Of Reality so that all the music blended together perfectly. Then I sent the playlist over to my son. +Cindy Palacio I'm glad you like her as well! You're right, She's pretty incredible, and she has the voice of an angel!
Have anges obel, one of my fav chill albums too! Loving the channel keep up the good work 👍👍
Recommend "London grammar" while you wait.... amazing powerful chill album

Jean Michel Jarre used analog synths, so there aren't digital elements in his music! By the way cool video, I love Oxygene too!
I saw this video, I listened to the full album of Kings Of Convenience and bought it instantly
+Henk Broer it's such a great record! "Misread" and "Cayman Islands" are fantastic songs!
Marika Hickman and Kings of Convenience were a great discover ! thanks for the tips !
i love that you use sade, lovers rock as a reference. I do the same thing with sades album promise, the track is it a crime is a great song for any adjustments I have to make with my set up. great bass lines, vocals and overall great ambient sound.
What an eclectic mix!
What is the difference between LP and vinyl records?

+Vance Capley artist which three do you have? And thanks for watching!
Vinyl Eyezz Jose Gonzales, Masters of Reality, and Sunset Mission.....great stuff on your list that I've got to try
+Vinyl Eyezz ^
4: Something reminded me of Brian Enos soundtrack Apollo.....hot slow thick and liquidy
5: I love Sade too, I think she's great while you're setting the mood over dinner and wine or two, but then it's time for Fiona Apple, Tidal....just to move the night along😁
Anyway, just a few thoughts.
Have a good one😁🖖

Wishing you well - RR

Robert Rich is my all time favorite ambient artist

Will you make one of your top 10 78 rpm records?
Kindly suggest a
Passport scheme of 100 Records and a
Visa scheme of 80 Records
I was really surprised/pleased to see that OM record
+Seth Swimmer it's awesome! I also recently picked up their album "God is good" which is also fantastic! Thinking about buying a band T-Shirt from them soon!

I think it's is a great list in your collection. It is hard for me to have a favorite or even several favorites. With 940 record albums in the collection, it would be difficult for me to pick favorites. I like your list though.
Such a great video.
so when you listen to your favorite albums do you A full on surround sound speaker system volume up to 11.
+Nafureanu Dan awesome! You're gonna love that album, OM really gets me pumped up and motivated, it's powerful stuff!
Vinyl Eyezz That album is already one of my favorites, but I can't wait to listen to it on vinyl.
Interesting selections. A few of them caught my attention.

My top 3 (I only have 11 so far so figured can't do too 10) are The Stage, Prequelle, and Metropolis Pt 2: Scenes from a Memory
Do you haw any fm attack vinyls
The Dead Kennedys - Fresh Fruit For Rotten Vegetables is also a fantastic album!
It has more to do with nostalgia & growing up, but Disintegration is one of my favourite things ever.
I do agree with Oxygen,it's a great album.
