Was listening to Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis on Sirius radio a little while ago and they mentioned this lady, who I had no idea was white or that she had such an extensive portfolio of work in R&B. She's got some pipes on her.
"Making love in the rain", "criticize", "Keep it Inside", Pia Zadora's 'When The Lights Go Out' album...Flyte Tyme's talented vocalist that contributed in making all those songs more great. Lisa Keith 🎼
Oh Your God. One does not "join" Star Search. One appears and competes there, and either wins or loses. There is no contractual "joining," as you seem to suggest.
Damn this lady can sing her ass off! First time I heard her sing I could of sworn she was black! An why has no one given her her props?! She was before Mariah!
So cool! I remember this well! Star Search was the first time I'd heard Lisa. Such a great singer! I can't remember what she sang the next week? (Maybe it was "Respect") Thanks for posting was great to see!
I was listening to some old Alexander Oneal decided to check out the lady behind the voice and wow was I surprised to find out she was white---aint got a problem with it--just surprised Like brother Ray Charles says--all music has got its own soul and this woman has got it in spades. Ya'll should check out her gospel/Christian songs too. She still has some pipes after all these years
When a person goes out of their way to say "I ain't got a problem with it," it means they actually do, deep down, and don't want others to know it. Otherwise, why say it??
@@Tre404 Dang. You don't know me from Adam. I am a black man with a white wife. I am also part Scottish, Irish, and South Asian. I really have no problem with other "races" since I am a mixture of a few and my children have even more ethnicities in their genes as well from their mother's side. I thought she was Black, but more importantly I loved her voice and when I was looking into her was surprised that she was white--no problem, just surprised. And what's more, I am interested in her career and hearing more of her. For example a lot of people were surprised that Bobby Caldwell is white, but we love him in the Black community. A lot of people where surprised that Charlie Pride was Black and he is lauded in the mostly white country community. Surprise just means that surprise....so why say it? Because I was surprised :-)
retrorhythms Lisa was just starting to work with them when she did the show. I remember bringing a VHS tape over to show them right after the show aired.
@@Tre404 Uh Duh keyboard warrior I asked her not you. And Duh, the question was asked because perhaps there was a story behind it how she got clearance. Sheesh
Wow Lisa you not only a beautiful woman but an amazing singer!!!

...also "Diamonds" by Herb Alpert featuring Janet Jackson, in 1987. And she stuck around all the up through the "Velvet Rope" era.
Oh My God! I didn't know she joined 'Star Search'. She's Really Is One Of The Greatest And Most Beautiful Singers Of The 90's.

@@Tre404 Fck off my message! You know what I mean! Have some logic at least a percentage of it! Go spoil someone else and get a life!
Love this so much!
