I know Henry Rollins isn't anything close to a neo-nazi, but his personality type is. His aggression, his emphasis on physical fitness and discipline, his history as a counterculture/hardcore/punk rocker ...these are all things that you often find in militant fringe groups like this. On top of that, his appearance is very masculine and frankly, kind of stereotypical of the white nationalist ideal. He's a perfect fit.
Henry must've been so glad of the opportunity of such a role and didn't really have to think about it,talk about it or write a book about it but just DO IT...I sure hope they didn't try and rip him off man,cos they woulda blew it.
Henry´s been around some hardcore people, he´s such a hardcore dude that when he toured with The Exploited, Wattie would bully him constantly , one time with some pellet gun , making him run hardcore .
I’m curious to see this same topic discussed with Marilyn Manson since he too was on Sons of Anarchy who played a imprisoned neo-nazi. Interestingly enough he has a real tattoo on his chest that resembles a swastika composed of 4 letter “M”.
I wonder if they purposely chose to have the Misfits Crimson Ghost AKA The Fiend’s picture place right behind where Henry was sitting. It’s as if they wanted to make sure people see that punk connection between Misfits and someone that was in Black Flag.
@Allison Chains Hank is short for Henry, and he used to frequently refer to himself as Hank (in the 3rd person) onstage with Black Flag and the Rollins Band.
@@lucasthompson1650 Ah, I see what you mean. I had never heard Hank be used as a nickname for Henry. My eldest brother had a friend named Hank, but it was short for Harry, not Henry. Thank you for letting me know! I'm not a huge fan of Rollins as I'm not super into Punk Rock, but I do enjoy watching interviews with him because I like his point of view on certain things.
At first I wondered why they’d have Henry play a Neo Nazi too but it clicked that it makes perfect sense. Henry is an intense personality who’s opinionated and would fit that type of “the world is out to get me” type of character like a glove
He did such an amazing job playing a scary racist. If he wasn’t well known before that roll I could see it starting a lot of rumors about him personally based on the character.
Only just watching SoA now and am surprised on how good Henry was in the role. Not for one moment did i think he was out of place or some rock star out of his element.
dude, hes literally a neonazi killer that does other terrible things im not sure youve seen yet so ill edit my comment to not mention, how on earth could we hate a character more you got me so confused lol
He’s just super intense in whatever he does. So it was easy for him to look like an angry racist. But on the flip side- his intensity also showed how much he loved the kids on that show as well. He was a good fit for that character based on intensity.
I never cared for Henry's music so I basically ignored him, but then he started showing up in movies and on TV and I have to say, he is a pretty good actor! I just watched his movie, "He never died" and if you haven't seen it do yourself a favor and watch it. It's not overly gorey, not really at all in fact. I say that because the way they depict the movie on Netflix you would think it was going to be quite gorey. I won't give anything away but man who his character truly is was a shock!! I never expected him to be that person! The movie was a little funny but very good and suspenseful overall. When he came on to SOA I was a little disappointed, I just couldn't see him playing such a role, but man he pulled it off and he did so with aces high!! I think Henry doesn't understand that he was thought of by Sutter because that whole punk scene goes hand in hand with white supremacy, it was the music of the KKK and all that stuff and so one might assume Rollins would be a good fit to play such a character, maybe Sutter thought he really was a racist? All I know is they need to play a Dallas on us and have it all a bad dream of one of the characters and start that final season over again like that and not have our guy get squashed by a semi!! SOA was a great show and the characters were so believeable. Jax was played flawlessly by Charlie H and I loved the show so much.
If you've been a part of that world the characters aren't really believable. It's entertaining enough I suppose, but I didn't recognise anyone I know in the real world from the fictional clubs.
The actor who played Jason Voorhees in the Friday the 13th reboot would be in costume and intensely in character before the cameras would roll, seething, looming and breathing heavily. It got into the heads of the other actors. Roll camera, and these poor actors would swear they were legitimately about to be killed. The director cuts the scene, and Jason pulls his mask off, cool as a cucumber and asks, "hey, are you thirsty? Wanna get something to drink?"
He did a great job. I really wasn't liking him..but in a good way. He was just that good. I know when they announced Marilyn Manson was going to be a racist on the show. I was thinking..that was done already to perfection by Henry Rollins.
Define good because the guy’s last lesson to his kid was “Don’t ever talk to the cops.” And if the character really cared about his kids he’d give them a good life.
I would imagine his concept of a "good" neo-nazi father was that he genuinely cared for his son. He called him "buddy" on the phone and was raising him on his own, I'm assuming, as there was no mention of a Mrs. Weston. He was "good" in his own neo-nazi mind, as that is one of the ways racism spreads, is from those you look up to.
He acted that role so well I had to look it up to see if he actually was a skinhead, he is so convincing and the people who did the wardrobe and makeup made it so much more believable. I hated it!!! Lol

He's a perfect fit.
hank has the best outlook of everyone ever.
Oh I know get Henry lol
“There’s possible money, it got him very emotional”😂
How he died was great
Henry must've been so glad of the opportunity of such a role and didn't really have to think about it,talk about it or write a book about it but just DO IT...I sure hope they didn't try and rip him off man,cos they woulda blew it.
Marilyn Manson played a skinhead neo-Nazi? LOL
@@hinjurock70 yea! Look up sons of anarchy Marilyn Manson
@@anthonyfxbb9040
Crazy.
The guy he talked about with the dent in his head sounds intense
I love sons of Anarchy .
I wonder if they purposely chose to have the Misfits Crimson Ghost AKA The Fiend’s picture place right behind where Henry was sitting. It’s as if they wanted to make sure people see that punk connection between Misfits and someone that was in Black Flag.
He's not a great actor, but i love everything he does, so he's great character
I want you because you're intense. F'n nailed it...
I've always been a huge fan of Hank. It's been great to watch him become a very capable actor.
Hank.
Lol I really hope you're just being sarcastic or something. How can you be a huge fan and not even know his name?
@Allison Chains Hank is short for Henry, and he used to frequently refer to himself as Hank (in the 3rd person) onstage with Black Flag and the Rollins Band.
@@lucasthompson1650 Ah, I see what you mean. I had never heard Hank be used as a nickname for Henry. My eldest brother had a friend named Hank, but it was short for Harry, not Henry. Thank you for letting me know! I'm not a huge fan of Rollins as I'm not super into Punk Rock, but I do enjoy watching interviews with him because I like his point of view on certain things.
@Allison Chains That makes sense, seeing as “Harry” (as a given name, not a nickname) is the Middle English equivalent of “Henry”! 😎
At first I wondered why they’d have Henry play a Neo Nazi too but it clicked that it makes perfect sense. Henry is an intense personality who’s opinionated and would fit that type of “the world is out to get me” type of character like a glove
This guy used to work at an ice cream store.
I had such a great time acting on soa wish I didn't die I wanted to stay next question ,did u have fun? Duh
He did such an amazing job playing a scary racist. If he wasn’t well known before that roll I could see it starting a lot of rumors about him personally based on the character.
*role
@@minners71 what's up?!
WOAH it's a Small World
Only just watching SoA now and am surprised on how good Henry was in the role. Not for one moment did i think he was out of place or some rock star out of his element.
Thought he was really excellent in that role
Henry is wearing $10 worth of clothes as he has since June 1981.
Just started this show and never knew Henry was in it. He did a great job but I wish they would have made us hate him more if you get my drift.
dude, hes literally a neonazi killer that does other terrible things im not sure youve seen yet so ill edit my comment to not mention, how on earth could we hate a character more you got me so confused lol
Rolamds is only less a dork than his fans 😆
@Redwoodrebelgirl ok dork
You can't believe anything Henry says; CAUSE HE'S A LIAR! 😂
you didn't get a like coz they dont know his music haha
@@rippedtorn2310 I know! I love The Henry Rollins Band! 🤘🤘
its because that song sucked
@@rianpuckett8540 No it didn't..at all.
I really hated him. I couldn't convince myself it's just a role, a character.
Man he is a nice dude.
Oh Henry is a super sweetie irl, and an awesome musician.
He’s just super intense in whatever he does. So it was easy for him to look like an angry racist. But on the flip side- his intensity also showed how much he loved the kids on that show as well. He was a good fit for that character based on intensity.
That's why I make tough guy faces and lift weights
Derek Mears. HE IS TALL.....
Whats with the Dr Disrespect Intro?
A good father doesn't name his sons Cliff and Duke. Just my opinion, I could be wrong, I often am

@@ryanbrown2348 I just checked, I am not. Those are dog names.
He did a great job. I really wasn't liking him..but in a good way. He was just that good. I know when they announced Marilyn Manson was going to be a racist on the show. I was thinking..that was done already to perfection by Henry Rollins.
Anyone know who he's talking about, with the dent in the head?
I HATED his character but he did play the role well!!!!!
Not to mention leaving your kids home with firearms expecting them to use it
Don't ever talk to the cops is a lesson every US citizen should learn early and never forget.

Love how you immediately went to that.
CJ Destruction It’s effective.
Guru Laghima.
He acted that role so well I had to look it up to see if he actually was a skinhead, he is so convincing and the people who did the wardrobe and makeup made it so much more believable. I hated it!!! Lol
