What a time real foods nice clothing good music great bodybuilding no mobiles or dumbass "influencers" wish i was born that time

@@beburs yes exactly you have to dig pretty deep to find a place where you can buy real food
They wanted to start a union for the bodybuilders. Arnold pretended he was all in, but he always sided with the Weiders who wanted total control. Of course no union was ever established.
Classic Schwarzenegger that most don’t know.
I love this time machine
It's everlasting happiness ❤
Bill Grant was very friendly, funny, and humble when I met him at the 1980 Canada Cup in Toronto.
Historical discussion about forming a union for bodybuilders. So interesting to hear Arnold’s response.
Beer, coffee, steak, eggs, bran muffins.
eff yeah
Sounds good for anytime lol
we can see that for ourselves, r e t a r d
@@Don-rl1sm speaking of beer, sounds like Don had his first one last night.
@@forevermuscle3697He can’t alcohol very well. Those little guys are always testy.
This is the greatest behind the scenes that was not even in the DVD outtakes -- thanks for this
Those guys didn't get rich from bodybuilding except for Arnold but most of the guys around the table are still alive. They didn't drop dead before the age of forty like so many bodybuilders in the last 20 years.
if you were to compare the top 5 Olympia competitors from today with those in this video eating breakfast in street clothes, the difference in appearance is night and day. The guys in this video, including Arnold looked albeit fit and heavily muscled, but their appearance isn’t all that startling. The top 5 today (and since the early to mid-90s) are so freakishly enormous it’s almost inhuman and disturbing, or startling to see.
They looked the biz. What a man, unless he's a slob wants to look like and what a woman wants to be with, even if she's a slob. They joke about what Robbie is the king of? My immediate thought is "The King of Cool". As far as bodybuilders can be, Cool look, cool attitude.
Well it wasn't bodybuilding that got Arnold his wealth
@@everready800it wasn't, it definitely helped him kick off his acting career though
@@signs80 Arnold was a millionaire before he even started acting, from real estate investments
These guys never wanted to leave this era. Always joking everywhere they went even in the gym. Laughter keeps you young!
Love this. Great insight into why people prefer the old school lifestyle. Great group of guys who clearly all get on well, socializing and eating real food and even enjoying a beer. Totally different world to modern bodybuilding which is solitary and overly restrictive.
Isn't that amazing? Nobody can't watch at the phone. They are all present mentally in that room. All listening each other.. Exactly how it should be. We are so degenerate now as society.. It is sad..
Now we're talkin'. Love to hear about the eating habits of the golden era.
I love this extra PI footage, but I feel a bit sad for these guys. Here they are in the prime of their lives hanging out together, working out together and just living life. Now here we are 49 years later and 4 from this group plus Franco are no longer with us. Time stands still for no one so live life to the fullest people.
This was almost 50 years ago. That's crazy.
Looks like they are having fun.
Great to see Kent Kuehn who invited me into Gold’s Gym. He was at the front desk, waved me to come in. That was the start of it all…Ken Waller in the center on this, next to Arnold was the manager of Gold’s. Luckily that’s why we still have a Gold’s Gym. He put the arm on people who weren’t paying …literally 😬
I love these old pieces of footage that were left on the editing floor. Apparently there is hours of it?? I'd love to see them all.
💯
There is, Arnold has it he bought all the footage, Hope he will release it all one day....
@@rjc7981 He did?? lol It's just like him.
@rjc7981 He won't release all of it, if at all. Rumor has it that Arnold was caught on camera saying some racist and off-color comments in the footage. Supposedly, that is the reason he purchased the B rolls from George Butler for $2M. If the footage had been seen by the public, it would have hurt his acting career and political career.
Love seeing Paul Grant, Bill Grant and Dave Dupree lesser known names but certainly people I know of. They were working out when I was working out at Gold’s . Dave Dupree actually came up when I was taking some pictures and said no pictures. I said oh I’m not taking it don’t worry. It was funny. He thought that I was actually taking pictures of him. It was the day that Larry Scott was there for a Weider Mr. Olympia promo with Caruso taking the pictures and of course Joe directing everything 😂😂😂💪🏼💪🏼💪🏼
Such good times 💪

the modern day bodybuilder is a sad, unhealthy meme
It wasn't healthy in the Golden Era, either. Just healthier.

Robby Robinson is still in surpreme specimen shape. In his 70’s. Black don’t crack baby lol
"Black don't crack" cause they look broken out of box.
@@WhyAreTheyOverHereyou would know since you are one
This is great content! Good healthy food and friends with the Gold’s Gym Gang!
Hopefully there is more to come?
Amazing footage!
Arnold was always the glue at Golds gym. The hangouts at Zucky's Deli (where this was most likely filmed), the beach and grass hangouts ended after he stopped training for competition.
Ye big characters draw people in.
I suspect this was 'The Germans' rather than Zucky's. Becks Bier on the table...
I recently saw a clip of Robby on RXmuscle guest posing at age 77, UNBELIEVABLE.
In this clip he proclaims he is the King, here today given the shape you are in you have certainly earned those bragging rights sir.
Robbie’s still looking good.
Thanks for sharing. How do you keep getting all this rare footage?
That was awesome. Great time capsule. Thanks for posting!
Lots of trophies sitting at that table. I wish Sergio was sitting at that table and had a part in pumping iron.
The show is about Arnold not about Sergio as you see Sergio at that time was not even in the Olympia because of Joe Weider, etc.💪🏼💪🏼💪🏼
Great upload
Great footage!!
5:56 arnold getting the sweats😅
This is pure gold- thnx😊
Man this is Gold. Where they find these outtakes?
Waller and Arnold were backed by Weider, Paul Grant didn't have a chance.
Agreed, the Weiderboys who lived in the U.S. tended to win with the Brits, Australians, Canadians etc relegated to 2nd, 3rd, 4th etc with a few exceptions
Look how healthy all these guys look! It's sad to see where the industry is at today.
sam sulek...
thanks for this
Seems like practically every video clip with Arnold in it back in those days, and especially around those people, he's always acting like an annoying jerk. No wonder most people that knew him back then couldn't stand him. He's always being a total jackass.
Robby Robinson is still crushing it. This time capsule is amazing.
Steak and eggs, the best bodybuilding meal!
An open discussion no hate just jokes and smiles
Now a days people r just too fragile 😅
Ed Corney was my mentor, the person I emulated mostly sitting next to Ken Waller. He was from Oakland, but he was down training with Arnold at this time. He was older as I was at this same time. I figured if he could do it so could I .😁
I am doing carb cycle to stay in shape through out the years, I was introduced to it back in 2017 and did it at least 4(2017,2018,2021,22)and again I am back at it,it's been 3 months and trying to get as lean and shredded as possible.
I do once a week high carb day including 2 cheat meals.
6 days a week really on lean protein and a little bit of butter.
Is it gonna harm my body ? Once I go close to 73 kgs,I'll increase the High carb day into twice a week.
I heard someone saying here on UA-cam that people could die of it or could get into serious health issues? How true it is ?
R.I.P.
@@Raj-iy1bgnot true at all. Keep your protein sources lean and eat them with salads and vegetables. Drink plenty of water. Take a multivitamin and fish oil. Eat clean carbs and slowly reintroduce them. As long as you eat whole natural foods should be ok. Ditch the butter for olive oil. Best of luck with it.
😮😮😮, this was 🔥🔥🔥
Great footage. They are all so young here. Arnold looks fantastic! All in great shape Arnold along with size has that mental edge!
The real Top G
That was a very fun watch.
Awesome!!!
You don’t see anyone measuring their food
just Excellent ,thankyou .😃
This is great!
Arnold got that business head on nowonder he was such a success.
I been pushing 4-5 meals per day real food, it aint always easy
Tell me about it. I have 3 hard boiled eggs every day for breakfast. After a couple of months, it isn't too appetizing.
Why? These guys didn’t eat 4-5 meals a day. Zane, Platz, Nubret, Robbie and many others detail in their books/interviews that force feeding is what has killed bodybuilding. If you’re hungry eat. If not don’t force it.
@@javierzamora2329 Agreed, I just try to get around 120-150 grams of protein a day. I weigh around 163lbs.
@@javierzamora2329 I have 3 meals at most, but two protein shakes a day.

Where can we watch more videos like this
I think Arnold has hundreds of footage hours he has never released. He bought the rights to all Pumping Iron video coverage many years ago.
Feed us more feed us more
Sure, they had already beer, muffins and some other not really healthy stuff, but did you notice how all of them had steak and eggs in their plates? That's what they primarily ate, along with some vegetables.
Yup. Plus they didn't eat carbs (oatmeal etc)
@@bkohler89muffins and beer are carbs
@@bkohler89 bran muffins and beer are definitely carb sources
@Mantastic-ho3vm lol - do you not see the beers literally in front of all of them?
@Mantastic-ho3vm Ken wasn't drinking beer but Arnold and others definitely did. It's ok; they did so in moderation and they all looked great!
Real Bodybuilding.
Some good welsh banter happening here lol
Now this is a true gem straight from the vault ! 😮
I had no idea there was many more other bodybuilders sitting at and outside of the main table.
I'm curious why Franco was not here.
Some I don't even recognize, like the one in the pink shirt between Arnold & next to Denny.
Some nice friendly banter going on.
No one took any of that serious.
Today if something similar would happen, be non-stop shit talking / line stepping.
Interesting to hear talks of a BB union. .
No Ferrigno either
The one in the pink shirt is Dave Dupree, Mr. International.
@@WhyAreTheyOverHere cheers ✌️
Man they really didn't like Robbie or Bill Grant. They felt the two men where beneath them.
Would you do an episode on Thierry Pastel?
“Where have all the side-delt gone?
Long time passing.” ❤
Where was this clip from? If it was from pumping iron I'll have to look this up on the DVD
wow
One thing I’ve always noticed about that era is that all the guys had a great head of hair. This kind of shows that whatever people like to claim that they took a boat load of drugs even back then. Compare this with all the bodybuilders now in their late 20’s and early 30’s and they all have shaved heads or thinning hair and look way older than all of the guys in the video.
Some of them took a lot of steroids for their era (and yet didn't go bald), on this point it's not a matter of speculation, we know this through testimonies from people who were around. Arnold for example, was not a small time user. Before all else it comes down to genetic predisposition. Also hairloss is much more common today amongst the younger general population than it was back then. Even though steroids have an impact, we must factor in that they lived much less stressful lives. Stress is a major causative behind hair thinning, and then of course made worse by drugs.
@@IronWarrior86 those are some very good points to be considered, stress is definitely a large factor in hair loss as well.
Yes some of the 70s era guys definitely took large, crazy doses but I still feel that most erred on the side of caution and were more conservative in their doses. Also they went off cycle during the year as well. Now there’s a lot of cruising and blasting and I’m just talking about the 20 year old kids in the local gyms, it’s crazy how casual drug use in bodybuilding today has become.
Bodybuilders tended to be younger then. Arnold was 28 in 1975.
The great Black hope (Roby)😂
It was a good video 👍
Why did we stop eating good food, drinking good beer.. growing nice hair and mustaches 😁
It may be that we have 1 kg more muscle.. but is it worth all that bad tasting food 🤔
Nah 1 kg isn't worth the golden Era ... all mass no quality
Born that year and am so grateful that I've already been in my late twenties when cell phones slowly reached out to dominate people and already over 30 when social media started to skynet us all.... at the same time, I pity the younger generations for the immense loss, they do not even know about, but most likely feel on a certain unconscious level.
Back when bodybuilders still looked human
My Dad brought home a six foot straight bar and a cardboard box full of York 10 pound plates around this time in the 70's.
Be funny if a guy challenged them all "Whats up NERDS!?" 😅
There is no supper without Big Tony….

If you listen to the conversation carefully, you would see that Arnold really didn't care about anyone and was disrespectful to others such as Paul Grant of Wales, Bill Grant, and Robby Robinson.
Arnold didn't care about a union. He only cared about himself.
I'm sure that Arnold had all his flights, hotels, and expenses paid by Weider or other promoters as well as being paid significantly to guest pose wheras the "Grants" Paul ( Wales) and Bill and others such as Dave Dupree, Robby Robinson, Ed Corney, Kent Kuehn would not have been treated as well. Ed Corney made a comment that by modern standards would be considered racist or inappropriate at best commenting that Bill Grant's hairbrush was something his dog would use. Obviously " black" hair has different texture than white hair. Given that Ed Corney was of mixed race ( part Hawaiian) I was surprised he spoke this way. In addition, Ken Waller appeared to be an Arnold and Weider kisser by his comments.
Tom Miniechiello ( spelling) was also mentioned as a promoter who made money off bodybuilders but didnt necessarily pay promised expenses
In addition Arnold shows passive aggressive behavior by on the one hand praising Robby Robinson and saying he is better than Bill Grant ( which he was) but at the same time describing him as the Great Black Hope and making other subtle putdowns. In the late 60s Sergio was the champ and Arnold was the Great White Hope. I like others have opined that Sergio was better than Arnold but placed lower starting 1970 and then suspended.
Well said, agreed. Would just make a correction; Ken Waller was the one who made the comb comment.
@@IronWarrior86 I'll listen to it again. Thanks
I listen to the clip again. Waller's head is towards Arnold, but I dont see his lips moving and then he looks at Corney, who is laughing.
In addition, Waller speaks in a Southern drawl ( Kentucky) Corney does not but perhaps it is Waller
@IronWarrior86
@@odessafile75 If i'm not mistaken and to be sure you're refering to 3:32. It's Waller, not very easy to discern though.
@IronWarrior86 you may be right. In addition, as per Ric Drasin Waller was a bully, and apparently, Coe/ Mentzer described Waller as a bit of a jerk.
The Nubian Prince Robby Robinson is the Real star in the room.💪🏿🏆❤️
Respects gone up for arnie knowing he was a union man ✊
I don’t know where you got that; he was always out for himself, and didn’t back the other bodybuilders against Weider

What I would give to be a fly on the wall in 1975
1975 was fly!!
Welsh man talking at 4 mins. He sounds like hes from my home town 😊😊
0:11 you will see the mandatory diet of a 200 grams beef (50 grams protein at least 30 grams healthy fat) and probably 3 to 4 eggs (24 grams protein - 20 grams fat) the high fat high protein - low carb plus " CANDIES" and the "other stuff" really created incredible symmetrical aesthetical bodybuilders, not absurd off season high carb unnecessary bulking
"A guy who's way down like you." Holy crap. Brutal.
That beef looked good
This is when cafe's, diners, and family restaurant's, were everywhere and cheap. A much better time.
