MK needs to bring back the Deception Konquest mode! I hate the new model with all the stupid cutscenes. Deception should also be backwards compatible. I miss that game.
Donkey Kong Country Returns did not destroy anything. Retro Studios isn’t a new face for Nintendo, as Retro Studios worked on the Metroid Prime series, so Nintendo decided to let them work on the Donkey Kong Country Returns series. Nintendo felt safe handing the reigns for a Donkey Kong Country platforming game series with Retro Studios. Just like how they scrapped the original Metroid Prime 4 and let Retro Studios take over Metroid Prime 4 Beyond because they were the best at making Metroid Prime. So Retro Studios were making the DKC Returns series very similar to the DKC series made by RareWare, and it payed off.
I feel like they had a good plan with Infinite but should’ve pushed back the release at least a year while they finished the campaign and got a head start on continuing to build out the “infinite” part by adding on more (possibly new, possibly related to the main campaign) story on a regular cycle (if you played Destiny 2, I’m thinking something like how they release a big expansion every year while also doing seasonal releases with minor additions 4x a year.) But… Infinite was released as it was, and as such I can’t blame anyone for thinking it was, at best, incomplete. As an aside, I think the big mistake here was Halo 5. Halo 4, to my mind, lays out a good foundation for a new sequence of games/story, but 5 didn’t really bother with any of it, while also cheapening Cortana’s sacrifice at the end of 4 and separating the player from Master Chief for most of the (incredibly forgettable) story. Once 5 ended on a cliffhanger of sorts, we all expected 6 to finish that story, and instead it happens off camera and we get Infinite instead, probably because of the (deserved) backlash against 5 even from Halo’s most hardcore fans (I have played every Halo since the original to death- literally done LASO on all the games given that option, except 5, where after beating it the first time there was basically no sequence I wanted to replay.) If they decide to do a reboot with the next installment of the franchise… well… Not really what I’d want but I’ll give the game a chance. I think the best thing they could do is declare all of 5 and Infinite as being non-canon and pick back up the story where 4 left off, but I know that’s not going to happen so I just hope that they have a good reason to reboot the franchise and aren’t just trying to cash in on our love of the early games in the series, as they already did that (superbly) with MCC.
Doom Eternal is my favorite game in the franchise, precisely because of the movement. Makes the game a wonderful blend of FPS and Metroidvania, and the movement also fits beautifully into the combat (especially on the harder difficulties, a lot of the combat requires you to have the movement down pat to have a chance.)
It’s not going to.. or if it does it will be a one off game that they put little effort into and it will suck. They have made piles of money since switching to full action combat. 15 was the test drive, and while it started slow, by the end with Royal and the dlc story’s it sold so well that it made them confident in doing 7 remake and even that is sort of a hybrid action game, and that blew the market away. That again gave them the confidence to go full in on the action and is why we got 16 and now rebirth. All 4 games sold amazingly and they would be afraid that if they went back to turn based, they would lose all of those “new generation” fans, which let’s be real, they probably would
Disagree. Metroid Prime 1 and 2 are both extremely well made 3D games (along w Super, Zero Mission, and Dread, 2 of the 5 best games in the franchise and I have no issue with those who think Prime 1 is the best game in the franchise even if it would likely be more like 3rd on my list) and I see no reason why Castlevania couldn’t have a good 3D iteration, if the developer of it gets how to do a 3D game that should be as much about exploration as it is combat.
Anyone else miss the little blurbs at the ends of the videos? The ending is so abrupt now I keep thinking the video froze or something but mostly I miss the uplifting blurbs at the end. Those were always nice
Jules is the only one who did/does that. They found out most people stopped watching at the end of the list, meaning the "view" didn't count to the algorithm. Less views, less money.
Why does everyone rave about re4. I found it boring with a really bad story, the worst of the resi franchise (not including all the bad ones we all know)
I’ll go one further- why does anyone like any RE game? They all have ridiculous to the point of being better understood as parody than serious stories, and the “puzzles” are really just fetch-quests, and the combat has always been terrible. I’ve never played a RE game that came close to Silent Hill in terms of psychological horror or that had the in game tension of something like Dead Space, Prey, or Alien Isolation. And certainly no RE game has a story that could touch a series like The Last of Us or the Telltale The Walking Dead games. All that said, I will also say that my favorite RE game is 4, but that it is meant as faint praise, as it wouldn’t crack the top 5 (maybe not top 10) in the horror genre of games.
The new Tomb Raider games are SOOOOO under rated
At this point, I think Adam is in the basement of WC...
That's good... they gotta keep him there...

Sonic Mania isn't the only one. Sonic Frontiers helped too. Now all we need is a game like Unleashed, sans werehog levels.
Sometimes in order to create you must first destroy
"A little pile of secrets. . . " I see what you did there.
Castlevania Lament of Innocence is the best 3D Castlevania
Donkey Kong 64 is awesome.
Id love a crash bash remake it was so fun
If they actually made Crash Bash a good game, because have you tried going through the tedium of unlocking all the mini games
Tomb Raider is the best archeology game
symphony of the night came before circle of the moon
Every Dragon ball game is the same. They still sale like crazy

He blamed Donkey Kong 64 for the destruction of collect-a-thon platformers... not DKC Returns.
Rewatch this video and then delete this comment.
@ Never.
@krvgames9258 "I mentioned the wrong game in my self-righteous comment AND I DON'T CARE!" is certainly a, um....bold choice I suppose.
I wish the best of halo 343 rebranded halo studios restarting the halo franchise I'm 2026 or 2028

Mercenaries, Mercenaries 2 for example?
Uncharted 1, 2, 3 and 4?
Prototype 1 and 2?
Ratchet & Clank -Yada Yada-
mercenaries 2 was crazy! my dad, brother and i would swap off between the PS2 and 360 version a bit later because they were both very different games!
Metroid Prime ?
Donkey Kong 64 wasn't terrible. Sure, it was the mother of all collect-a-thon games, but still
Doom Eternal = Doomformer. That is, Doom the Platformer
Won what??
Nintendo is the leader of experimental gaming.
Sony & Microsoft WISHES they could even touch that. :/
I Want To Watch Monkey Wrench
Soul Reaver and SHADOWMan rules!!!
Man, do people really not like Crash Twinsanity? That's like one of my favorite Crash games. Guess I'm weird 😅
Yeah I mean you can argue if it is a good game but it is definitely a fun time and the funniest crash Bandicoot game
Still waiting for Final Fantasy to return to turn based combat.

My first ever FF game was 16, precisely BECAUSE it wasn't turn based. Love bed the game but it was a tad long tho.
Are they gonna make a Detroit 2?
Or what happened if they make a PlayStation 6?
Metroid, like Castlevania, just works better in 2D.
Disagree.

Happy to see the view’s dropping on this channel these guys are way too negative it’s always doom and gloom
No God of War? That's certainly a choice
God of War was fine, even after Ascension. The series changed with 2016, but it probably still would have done okay if they kept the same formula.
@RichKnight36 Fair. Whether or not they had to change everything, doesn't take away from the fact that they did.
Devil May Cry 5 is a boring meaningless button masher with cringest characters and dialogue...
WhatCultureGaming is on the bottom...
Cry more
Someone didn't play the game. Also it should be dialogue not dialogues like how can I take you seriously
Why does everyone rave about re4. I found it boring with a really bad story, the worst of the resi franchise (not including all the bad ones we all know)
Same it's an average action game and NOT a great rez game . Over rated .
@RubyJones-zj4fu finally someone who agrees with me, thank you
Because they did away with the bad camera, the tank controls and actually had decent, not great but decent voice actors.
