The way you finish these shoulder seams is genius!
Nice! KUDOS for the lining!!! Despite what others think, a lined dress looks far more elegant on the wearer. It also gives this dress a bit of structure as well, which looks nicer.
I may do a version of this with some short sleeves 😄.
Yes! Thank you! Lining is essential IMO ☺️ I hope you give it a go! Adding sleeves should be an easy hack👌
@@ThrillsandStitches I've added sleeves to sleeveless for years. I have a standard short, 3/4 and full sleeve pattern that I often use. I grew up in the 70s and 80s and used to always raid my parent's closet for things from the 50s & 60s. The dresses and skirts had side zippers and were lined. Same for men's trousers.
Beautiful dress and the construction was delightful to watch! It looks very luxurious with the fabric colour and drape too! Not sure if this particular pattern is for me (I’m self conscious about my figure) but I loved watching! I am excited to see the others too 😊
Thank you so much Tanya, I appreciate that ☺️🙏 It would be easy to add sleeves! But yes, it’s definitely figure-hugging 🌚
This colour, cut and your enthusiasm are just so fabulous! I would love to see a version of this with lace - there is a dress from Cami NYC that has lace under the bust.
Thank you! I actually made a lace trimmed version (around the neckline) of this pattern here: ua-cam.com/video/otwsSSFpg0w/v-deo.html
So elegant! I've been looking for something exactly like this. Thank you for creating a pattern! I went straight to Etsy to purchase a copy 😍
Thank you SO much! I really appreciate that 🥰🙏 Glad you like the design! I am sure it will turn out beautifully 🪡
Your tutorials are great, very clear and informative! Will definitly try this pattern out! 🎉
Love to hear it! I hope you'll give it a go 🧡
Stunning!
Thank you! 😊
Beautiful dress! Really looking forward to all the other patterns you have lined up for us til Christmas!
Thank you so much! 😊 Yes, there's lot's more to come 😊
I have a holiday party coming up so I’m gonna make this dress in a burgundy jacquard fabric I picked up on a major clearance this year. Ohhh I can’t wait! Thanks for the gorgeous pattern.
That sounds absolutely lovely! Glad you like the pattern 💜 If you get it before Nov 26th you’ll get 25% for Black Friday. Hope you enjoy ✨
Oh even better! Thanks!
It's so bright and elegant 😍😍😍 I loved how it looks just with the coat 😍. Another pattern that will be a success ❤
Thank you! 😊 I hope so 🤞
Thank you!! Exactly what I was looking for! :)
Glad I could help! :)
Missed you last week! What a great dress, insert dreamy bubble thoughts for a rich majenta or teal silk for me
Awwww thank you ☺️ Love that! I’ve been debating between the blue and a wine red colour, it would look so good in a rich red for sure 👌
just bought the pattern so exited to make! If I'm making it out of a cotton fabric, would it be best to cut on the bias?
Yes that's a good idea! It will give the dress more drape which can be beneficial :) Hope you enjoy the pattern!
Am I insane for wanting to make this dress but the only thing I have sewn were napkins and pijama shorts? I have a wedding in four weeks and I really want to make this, I have a lot of free time as I am on vacation right now. My plan is to make a prototipe first with another fabric before risking it all on the satin.
You can 100% do this! Especially as you've already made shorts, this dress is easier I'm telling you :) It's a good idea to make a prototype first, this way you'll get any insecurities out of your system. You got this!
@@ThrillsandStitchesWhat if I’m a beginner and want to try it with sateen? Feels like a disaster waiting to happen 😂
Lovely dress and the material suits it. It seems quite straightforward to make. I would prefer it with some sort of sleeves, even short ones would do. I suppose I could use sleeves from another pattern, do you think?
Thank you, and absolutely! It should be very easy to add sleeves, you might just want to add a strap to the shoulders to tie up behind your neck so the sleeves don’t fall down with the weight :)
oh good thank you. I'll have a go.

I love this omg!! How’d you make this pattern, it’s perfect?!
Thank you 🥰 I hope you’ll give it a go! The link to the pattern is in the description ✨ 25% off this week only!
Great video, as always! Thank you! :) What foot did you use for the hem? :)
Thank you :) Just my standard foot!
I love it!!! I want to try 🤞🏻
What fabric do you use for lining?
Thank you ❤
Thank you! I used a micro mesh material, it’s a stretchy polyester that’s anti static and barely noticeable when you wear the dress, which is why I like it 🤗
The dress looks beautiful. Is it suitable for a large bust?
Hi! My patterns are drafted for A-B cups, so it’s likely adjustments will have to be made for bigger busts.
I purchased your pattern and I'm in the midst of making a Sally dress myself. I need some help.
I watched the video multiple times but I don't understand how you got the notches for the skirt to line up the front and back bodices. I've been sewing and unpicking for several hours now because I can't get the v-neck to align.
Do you have advice on how to resolve this?
Hi there! Sorry to hear this proofs difficult for you. The most important thing is to align the sides and center front of the bodice and skirt in the underbust seam. When you pin the seam you will find that the ease in the bust pieces starts to appear. You want to gather the ease under your bust apex for a nice look. Make sure that the seam allowance in the center front for both bust pieces stays loose when you attach them to the to the skirt. This is so you can attach the lining later and have a crisp tip in the V-neckline. I hope this helps.
Has this been tested on larger chests? Wondering if it would fit as a DD+ or if I'd need to do FBA
You will have to make adjustments, my pattern are AA-B cups. Hope you’ll give it a go!
What is the fabric material you have used?
Crepe-backed satin!
It’s awesome, but I didn’t really get the ribbon part. 🤔 would love to try the pattern, but my disease makes me fatter than your sizes are. 😞
Sorry to hear that!
@@ThrillsandStitches no worries! I have lipedema and on Thursday, I have gotten the info if everything goes well, I’ll have my first surgery in a few months and if I safe enough money, I can do the next 3 surgeries within the next 2 years and then I fit your patterns too! 🥳 It’s difficult, but I try my best! 💪😁
Love it lady but the dark fabric is sooo hard to see what your talking about 😢
Ohhhh sorry about that!
with the brightness turned halfway up on ios i had no troubles tho?
