Man you throw down the miles on your hunts! That yard you stopped at in CA, Big M auto wreckers, was pretty awesome. A LOT of those cars could live again, but it means getting them out of there and on the road! Above that, the parts he's holding are certainly HARD to come by.
Got a winch now! NICE. Only way to go...
Cool history about the Shasta Dam and area. It's like getting an education along with a rescue! I do like the quiet sleepy smaller towns too.
I had to to look it up! The 26 room Juniper Lodge Motel built in the mid-70s, sold was abandoned sometime in the mid-late 80s but ended up caught in the Tenant wildfire in June 2021.
Great video and great find. Certainly a RARE car.

Thanks for the info on the Juniper Lodge! We moved to Klamath Falls in 1981 and I remember it still being in operation for the first few years as we would travel back to SoCal a fair amount to see family.

Used to love 97. A lot of times trucking up five would be a mess.
Either coming or going get off at weed take 97 either straight up to Biggs junction or cut a crossover in the Eugene via the Willamette pass.
Most of the time when people were sitting down there on five chaining or parked and going nowhere over the siskiyous it wouldn't be as bad.
Towards the end of your junkyard visit that Ventura was really nice you don't see too many of those in the early sixties. Usually it's either a tempest or a Le mans

This is particularly interesting to me as I was following this Edsel when it first hit Marketplace. I was very tempted as it was only 55 miles from me, but just could not pull the trigger. Decided I just am no longer passionate enough to take on an extensive project. Congratulations! A very rare car at a good price!

Sacramento? I live over in Angels Camp. I'm an hour's drive South East, from there. That's funny you mentioned a '64 Fairlane post out of San Jose. I used to own a '64 Sports Coupe that was built at the Martinez plant. I'm rebuilding a '64.5 Mustang, right now. It was built in San Jose. Rex.......Hutchensen? Thank you for the tour at Big M. I've driven past it thousands of times but, never stopped. Very nice Edsel! That '60 Ford will be very cool, too.

Please keep us posted on your progress with this car. Great find, and really love to see great cars like this rescued and restored. The 60 Edsel is a good looking car. There's a white one I see in Miami every so often, which has dual factory rear radio antennas, one on each rear fender These slant towards the rear of the car, and really are a beautiful option.
You might consider installing that option on your Edsel. The way Biden plans to screw up the entire auto industry in 2026, your Edsel could be valuable and reliable transportation.
CA is going to be a problem state for cars when all the new Biden / Newsom mandates kick in.

I’m a first time viewer from Texas, very interesting, enjoyed it. Mercury Turnpike Cruisers intrigue me, hope u can find one to add to ur collection. If I come across one I’ll inform u, but I’ve been told they’re tougher to find than hen’s teeth. Too bad the one in the salvage yard is going to Australia, it should stay in US where we drive on the right side of the road & appreciate big gas guzzlers. If the Aussie reneges on the deal I hope u can get it. Best, Stephen
