Such friendly folks in Tennessee! So talkative, open, happy to see you.
And happy when you leave😅😅😅
This is what's known as "Southern Hospitality". You'll find it all over the Southern U.S.
@@ted458 Born and raised right here in Tennessee! But it's nice to see so many agree.
Just a good old boy that likes cars and doesn't care about them being perfect just a plain nice dude
Nothing in the glove box but my bowl and bag! Lol!
Lol
The other stuff is behind seat.
Hello from Australia ,what a friendly couple ,if there were more people like this in the world it would be a nicer place ,nice folks in Tennesee
Not everyone in Tennessee is that nice.
If there were more people like this in america I would'nt have left.

@@nikitawilson8535 There are always a few "bad apples" but most people in the South are friendly.

I hope you will do car presentations together more often. You are two born presentators. You are so knowledgable on these cars. When I watch you folks I feel I learn something. All the best from the Netherlands.
My sister's husband's father was a master mechanic for a Ford dealership for a while. Then they started a repair shop at their house, he had a 4 car shop and he was a cougar enthusiast and he had a bunch of cougar XR-7 cars and parts and he had one with a 429 in it and whatever else optional extras were available. But he just passed away a few years ago and he was the only one left in the family who was there at the house and when they took over the house and property they scrapped everything that was there including the cougar parts and extra body parts and it was a big deal and before he passed away he was trying to sell everything that he could? But there wasn't anyone that was interested in the part's and car's that were left. It was a shame that it went to waste!
For your enjoyment. The grille of the Caballero was found allso on some European cars. Opel Commodore and Opel Record. Thank you for working together to present the Caballero the way you did. Very very injoyable.
The Bonanza was a yearly limited special sold in the spring thru the 70s, It included certain features grouped together at a discounted price. There were multi-level packages, A, B, C and D, each one piling on more options. It was a response to the similarly promoted Ford Explorer pickup (before it was an SUV). That was also a spring special with various discounted option packages. Interestingly, the nameplate was recycled by GM-Brazil in the early 90s. After the GMT400-OBS Blazer & Suburban came out in '92, the Square body tooling was sent there and the vehicles were called Bonanza. The square body was built for many more years there. Fun fact., the car Ted Kennedy was driving was a '67 Olds Delmont when he dunked it at Chappaquiddick in the summer of '69. The Delmont replaced the both Dynamic 88 and small-engined Jetstar 88 in 1967.
It lasted 2 years before being replaced with a base-model Delta 88 in 1969.
Guy reminds me of Turtle man yeeeyeeeeyeeeeyeeeeyeeee!! 🐢
Imagine that Spitfire with a boosted 3800 v6. 😍
He had me when he double pounded the hood and it opened. He's my type of car guy. LOL
Hasn't everyone had at least one car like that!? 😁
Wow! I thought that I would never see another one of those again? I have owned 2 1968 Oldsmobile Delmont 88 and I tell you what an awesome riding car that is! It makes you feel like you were on your couch cruising down the road and they had good power. I bought them for the engines mainly, but I wanted to drive it around for a while before I pulled the engine out. I put the engine in a 1966 Oldsmobile Cutlass f-85 deluxe coup. I raised my kids while I had the Cutlass f-85 deluxe coup car. And when my son was old enough, I gave it to him and now he has it restored and he will probably pass it on to his son? But I kinda wish I could find another 1968 Delmont 88 one and I would just restore it and drive it. The 2 car's I owned were wrecked and that was how I found out about them.
If you ever come to Idaho, I will show you a car that you’ve never seen or probably heard of. I won a bet against Chip Foose. He had never seen one either and he signed my dash
Im from Leadore Idaho, i wanna know!? What is it? Can i see a pic?
@@Kai-qu4tx sure. On my channel is a video of it. ‘32 Hupmobile. 1 of 8 made. 1 of 2 left
OMG a Caballero! A childhood neighbor had one back in the day. Now I know there were/are 2 in existence. Great content Parker. You the man
The next trim level was the Diablo.
My buddy has one sitting around
I bought a very nice heavily 81 Caballero at auction in 1990 in ran and drove perfect and the truck was absolutely flawless on the downside but I didn't care it was the 5.7 diesel I paid 1600.for it I drove it for years then put as gas engine in it when the diesel quit
There’s a Caballero for sale at Maple Motors right now.
They were called a GMC Sprint before 78@@rolandledesma-de7qd
The disc brake option for the Olds of these years were four-piston Kelsey Hayes, and therefore the 15" wheels that were part of the disc brake package had a unique profile to clear the calipers! My uncle had a former Fire Chief '67 Olds Delmont 88 that had those rare disc brakes!
My folks had a pair of '68 Olds Delta Custom, both were Holiday Coupes - what they called the two-door fastbacks. The Olds 88 heirarchy was Delmont 88, Delta 88, and the top of the line was the Delta Custom, much like the Chevy Biscayne, BelAire and Impala.. All were available as two-door fastbacks, or 4-dr sedans and 2-dr convertibles
Anyway, Mom's had the 455 high-compression 4-barrel, and dad's was the 455 low-compression 2-barrel. Mom's was more plain, but it had the automatic AC where you set the temperature, power windows and the AM/FM 'Wonderbar' seeking radio. Dad's had every option there was -- vacuum operated power locks, vacuum operated trunk release, cruise control (speed was set with a dial on the dash!), power windows, Manually controlled AC, full vinyl top, rear defogger blower in the rear package tray, power antenna.... His vinyl top was they called the 'halo roof' since the vinyl top did not go to the edges of the windows - it had a 1-1/2" wide bodycolor band, separated by chrome trim.
.
Dude should call vice grips garage he's in Tennessee. Bet he can get that Oldsmobile started and drive it home
He's not the only one on earth that could do that
There were people doing that without UA-cam many years ago
My brother has the 68 delmont 88 convertable that is rare
He was 🎤 up before the hello. I can't unsee it. Great content as always.
That Delmont looks like a Pontiac from the front. Rare car now.
Damm I love this channel
But the Delmont cars I owned had the 455 2 barrel carburetor on it. The car in the video must have been a 1967 year model? So I guess they were very similar to the 1968 year model? Except for the tail lights those were different
that Delmont 88 is a SUPERIOR car to the Impala !! the 425 engine us a 300 000 mile engine...the 350 impala was maybe 90,000....
The Delmont 88 was famously driven off a bridge by a sitting U.S. senator.
That Delmont is the entry level Oldsmobile. It is on the C Body platform shared with the base Buick LeSabre and Pontiac Bonneville. Certsinly an uncommon car. Drum brakes are likely adequate. To switch to disc brakes, parts from a Delta or Ninety Eight will fit with no problem.
An extremely smart man.
The Delmont was a fantastic Oldsmobile! Most had 425 Olds, and they had a 4 speed auto with S mode transmissions! " S stands for " super overdrive" and these cars take off like a jetfighter when you hit that s mode you better have that seat belt on!
I bought a 66 Dynamic with 425 2 bbl, S mode, the guy I bought it from bought it off the showroom floor in 1966! It had 60k on it and had been serviced on schedule all it's life. I payed $350. And drove away with a big grin on my face especially after I destroyed a new corvette on the way home😂😂😂😂💪💪💪👏👏👏👍💯
Yup, I'm sure that Olds really needed the undercoating to protect it from the furious snow of Tennessee.
Cougar is nice...👍
The Cougar does not have correct bucket seat upholstery for a XR-7, but most likely is better condition then the correct ones. The fender with the "Hecto en Mexico" stamping was a replacement fender from late 70's early 80's. It is a Ford service part. Not all Cougars got Disc brakes, is was optional. Over all a nice ride. I like the Spitfire and the Delmont 88 425. I had a friend in High School whos dad had one, but a 4 door company car. .
for AN XR-7
@@ralphsmith2683 What?
That red paint your talking about is what the use on the bottom of big ships because of the salt water it keeps the steel from rusting up they sometimes sprayed the bottom of the cars to prevent rust mostly in the northern states ,,,,but that's the paint they used on ships pretty good at keeping things from rusting and rotting out
Red OXIDE paint. Slows rust.
Those big olds were common on the west coast. 425 the daddy to the 455 which came out in 68. The 425 was a three year run. Probably Olds best big V8 ever. Have had two 65 Jetstar 1’s. And yes speedometer drives off left front wheel a gm thing even a corvair was like that. And as for the old ford truck last year for the flathead V8 was 53.
If a guy looked under the back seat of that Delmont 88 he's probably find the remains of the build sheet.
Old boy got the vo 850 with the factory spoiler with an integrated brake light in the background 0:55-2:40 💯
A friend of ours who lives just down the street from us inherited her grandfathers 1967 Delmont 88 and I got it running for her. Cool car!
cool cars , nice finds, like the triumph spitfire, learned to drive I stick in a 1973
A friend of mines dad had a 77 Bonanza when we were kids. It was loaded. 454, electric windows and locks, tilt, cruise. It was nice.
Chevy Bonanza emblems are now sold through quite a few different sources. For anybody that's interested.
Very interesting stuff. I live in central Tennessee and your right, our cars rust if not taken care of.
thanks Parker, keep the videos coming
Those Folks are AWESOME!! I love it!! Not a lie amongst them!!
I like those oldsmobiles. Bought one with that 425. That will smoke alot of impala's. I hope it gets saved
This is Golden. I so love what you do man. Keep it alive brother!!!! 👊💪
Happy 4th 🇺🇲this was cool very nice people.
🗿💨 Caballero was sold through Pontiac dealerships. I've got a factory stick Caballero,, had a oak tree fall on it and nee to fix windshield post on pass side. Thanks for sharing 👍✌️
Cool . Just hanging out and talking cars on July 4th!
Chip Foose for the Delmont 88 rebuild!
Ah yes the Delmont 88 the poor man's Delta
The way the Biscayne was the poor man's Impala
Of course don't forget Ted Kennedy was driving a 1967 delmont 88 when he drove off the chappaquadick bridge.
My brother has the convertable
@@73buickman now that's a real rare one. Especially if it's a delmont and not a Delta.
my father had a 1968 light blue olds delmont 88 4 dr hardtop with the same 455 2bbl,320 hp with a ton of torque.car had no a/c bummer back then it had only 88000 miles on it. believeit or not it accually got 15 mpg and needed good octane fuel. that would make a good reasonable cruiser street mobile.
Cool people and cars !
I'd take that XR-7 and bring that back to its former glory! 🇺🇸👍
Wow, just wow.

I live in LA (Lower Alabama) we don't have rust. My teenage hot rod was a 68 Cutlass S. I loved Oldsmobiles
Bonanza was a trim package. I believe it was a special paint/special trim package
Very similar to my 67 Rivera!!?🥃🇺🇸
1953 Ford was the last flathead in Ford. 1954 Ford had overhead valve engine, I believe they were a Y code engine and a 292 c.i..
I own a 77 cougar xr7 had it restored 3yrs ago with a 351 cleveland
A lot of the old,s cars had that kind of speed needle .them transmission,s are rare so don't get taken.
I bought a new GMC Caballero Laredo in 1981 with tiny V-8
I had a delmont back in the 70s. It was a great $400 dollar car.
Would love that Delmont! Damn you don't see em and a 425 car ta boot! 😢
I had a 1966 delmont all white blue Ensure smooth running car$250 don't remember what I did with it
My 75 nova had that red undercoat
Someone either put a Duraspark cap on the cougar or someone put the entire distributor in it
I'v seen a couple of Delmont 88s. And they looked about like this
Ralph might have a rare cougar if it was assembled in Mexico. He should look into it.
Yeee !
GMC sprint also made station wagons
i like this guy .
Parker, thor are all station wagon chassis.hence the rear footwell
1953 was the last year of the Ford flathead. 1955 was when Chevrolet came out with the 265 V8
Just came across 4 67 impalas 3 are bucket seat and console cars.
I had a Delmont 88 425 in 1975 good car but had to do a valve job on it
That statement about the cars in Pennsylvania being better than the ones in Tennessee as far as rust is debatable lol.
Case by case! Lol 😂
Probably depends on salt exposure. Also some old farm trucks in PA might get parked more in the winter when in TN a truck don’t get parked unless it’s beyond dead. There are a lot of good cars up in those hills…
hood buckled oil the hinges
I have only seen one El Camino as GMC, it was named Sprint. Was that only outside US. Yours Mads, from Denmark
Caballero is pronounced cabayerro double Ls in Spanish is a y sound
Those square body Chevy trucks always have problems with the hoods buckling. You need to put extra braces on them
HI ,You have such terrific videos on here.
I enjoy all of them. The cougars were supposed to be the LUXURY cars up from a MUSTANG...
PLEASE NOTE, I get a LOT of SHORT vids using a name such as yours , any input?

@@backyardbarnfinds the ones with the jacked up pickup truck and the blond hair girl?
My dad bought a brand new demont 88 back in the 70’s had a big block olds in it a 425,I believe. That car was the biggest POS we ever owned I think.
Wellll- like he said-the Delmont was the bottom of tha barrel!
there a lot of first gen Camaro's in Tennessee junk yards and barns for some reason
Shhhhhh 😂
The fenders and hoods ,trunks ,door panels ,were mostly stamped in Mexico and sent to the ,U S TO BE ASEMBLED AT THE PLANTS ,,,,,in the beginning they would stamp Mexico into most of the parts but people were saying the cars were built in Mexico and started to qwestion as to weather the cars were American made and wouldn't buy them so they stopped stamping the metal ,,,,,mostly all cars ,,,NOT ALL OF THEM ,are now even assembled in Mexico but it's a big secret dodge is noted for it ,,,go sit at the train yard in Lorado TX and watch what comes out of Mexico there is a yard that holds all the cars and trucks acres of them that have come across with no drive shafts ,no Trans, no brakes no motors ,no air cond, all sitting in that yard waiting to b reassembled freightliner is noted for this they are assembled in Mexico,,,DO you remember when Wal mart would say everything they sold was American made? I know for a fact 💯 that the containers that came across the boarder came to the warehouse they would unload them and repackage everything to be stamped with the American boxing and packaging 📦 then reload it onto my trailer with all new packaging to go to all the Wal mart stores around the country ,,,,,no one even knows they have been lied to they payed so little for the product from Mexico, that it was worth it to repackage it and make 10 to 15 percent off of what they saying was American made because back in the 70s it was a big deal to buy American made products people wanted to keep America moving by paying for people who worked here ,,,,,now ,no one cares country's been sold out for yrs
It was the same thing as the heavy Chevy, just a marketing scheme .
They had one called a heavy-half that had 6 lug wheels, lower final gear, and a heavier spring pack than other half tons. Not sure about the heavy chevy, but I think it was the Chevrolet version.
@@grapeseed427 It was a Chevelle, 71 or 72, it was a basic Chevelle with a stripe kit. yes i remember the heavy -half , basically a 1500 instead of a c/10.
