I don't think the Undertaker character would've survived the attitude era if it wasn't switched to the American Bafass or Big Evil

  • @BruceMichaelFilms

Taking time away from the Classic Taker gimmick was the best thing that ever happened to him. Because once he brought it back, the fans appreciated it more, and never wanted to see it go away again.

I’m always amazed at how well all the wrestlers can imitate Vince.

I'm glad that you and Vince agreed on the American Badass persona during the Attitude Era.

The American badass refreshed his character, and even at points, he really showed he was still the undead phenom that would end you. Like when he threw Rikishi off the cell, or when he turned into Big Evil. Hell, in context it turned out perfectly. Went from what he was, to American Badass, to leader of the lockeroom, to Big Evil, to respected head, back to the deadman. As if it was a slow transition back his old self. Perfectly done.

Taker, a tremendous storyteller inside, and outside the ring.

My first introduction to Undertaker was him returning at Judgement Day 2000 as the American Badass. Taker from 2000-2003 will always be my favorite version of him.

As a kid. I had a horrible childhood. Full of abuse, and just pure hell. But The undertaker took me to a different world. If only for a short time each week. Every time I heard the gong hit I would run as close to the tv as I could and just be enthralled by your entrance, by your talent and by your storytelling. I’m thankful to have grown up watching you. I got to see you live at a not televised event once and it was the highlight of my life. I hope to someday get to meet you, to shake the hand of one of my biggest hero’s and inspirations. I sincerely thank you for giving me an escape from all the bad things going on. You always have been and always will be my favorite wrestler until the day I rest in peace. Thank you taker!

The American Badass character is grossly under appreciated. The work he did back that was stellar, and worthy of re-watches.

    1 man 2 characters deserves

It‘s so fascinating to hear these background stories and get a look behind the curtain, especially since The Undertaker / American Badass was such an elusive character.

Taker using Limp Bizkit for his intro was perfection. It fit so well for the time!

This is so cool to hear about from the man himself. Not a story of the man. But Mark himself telling his story and thought process. He’s telling us about his intuition and his backstage interactions with Vince. Pretty cool man. Wow.

I always wanted to see him go back to the O.G. Undertaker look just one more time with the purple gloves and purple boot covers

  • @outlawdavey7189

American Badass and Ministry of Darkness are my favorite Undertaker personas.

I’m glad he changed up the character. It helped him survive in the long run.

Love the imitations of Vince. They made me laugh.
