Just got a 996 and was looking for basic maintenance videos. These are great. One comment about this one, don't leave the emergency release cable in the tail light recess. Definitely feed it into the wheel well or behind bumper, otherwise you can't reach it if you need it. I think you mention that right at the end of the video, but it's quick and might not get noticed.
why not mention each of the bulb sizes? there are 4 bulbs in the headlight, H/L Beam and.... driving lights and turn signal? I would like to replace those. Same with the tail lights, which bulb sizes are for breaking, turn signal, night time and reverse?
I like how the emergency hatch release is behind the driver side tail light, so all you have to do is open the hatch to unscrew the boot holding in the tail light. Wait. Haha I suppose you could smash the whole tail light. Haha
I know it's just a coincidence, but I discovered my taillight is out last night, at almost exactly the time you uploaded this video. I google it today, and here's a perfect video. Easy peasy.
@@TechnoloG84 I did replace the bulb, yes, but this did not fix the problem. I believe it's the headlight switch. While the job looks simple enough, I haven't done it yet, as I'm concerned I'll end up breaking the plastic trim pieces - plus other issues have popped up along the way that have taken precedent.
Really good videos. I have a 99 996 myself in my fleet. Such a great car. I would recommend a few things. Upgrading to litronics and adding the retrofit kit. Adding a numeric racing short shift kit. Making sure all underbody panels are on. I was surprised how much of a stability difference that made at high speed. I also have the ohlins coilovers. Amazing suspension. And finally, paint correction!
My headlights have black and red wires attached and you didn’t cover it. I’m trynna figure out how to unplug the wires and can’t seem to figure it out. All the videos Ive seen don’t seem to have the same headlamps as mine. It’s driving me nuts idk what to do lol
Yes you can, but you will need the full lights with bulbs, ballasts, and other items, and may need a module recoded or changed if you want full function - but they can install and function easily. Xenon headlamps are another name for the HID/Litetronic - they use Xenon gas-charged bulbs as the lighting element.
why u dont have any videos for bmw f20? i have 116i and looking all ower how to change injectors and i cant find any videos ore any info and its most used car and moter i can see on the streets
We need more 70 , 80 and 90 volvos videoa maintenance and replacement of difficult parts and troubleshooting I'm tired of checking over and over again me and my surroundings buying your shit we don't get much attention as a older volvos costumers we need updated videos for these volvos right away

My headlight tracks were dirty. Cleaned and lubricated them and install was much easier. Thanks for posting

I just found out my headlamp bulbs are the complicated looking HID bulbs. Is it possible to take out the bulbs and replace with regular bulbs

It’s best practice to always replace bulbs as a pair, because odds are, if one has blown the other is on borrowed time!

So why did a mechanic tell me that this is one of the hardest things to do!?
My issue is that I want brighter taillights. Is that possible to replace?
How do you remove the clip on the fog lights?
I want to know: Do i have to replace the entire bult and the key-pience you pulled put? Or: can I change the bulb on that key piece and reuse it?
Usually just bulbs need to be replaced. In some cases the sockets can go bad, in which case those can be swapped out as well!
