    hi ,I m from one of tribe community of India,rice beer and wine is part of my culture,here we preper with fully organic method,using self grown rice,herbs from forest for yeast generation in a cooked soil pots......first time I acknowledged it can be prepared in home in kitchen with help of normal house hold kitchen equipmens ,,,and also it's the part of other culture too.....thanks for your video..😃

    I used to make this when I was posted in Bahrain.. my Nepalese and foreign friends would love.... Since I got back to states, I do not make this as life sucks here, work work and work but definitely I will give a shot again, Thanks for sharing... :D

    My mom always made this in my village for free. 87-99 it's was free , after 2003 - 2008 per cup ₹10 . From 2010 ₹50 . In 2017 ₹100 per cup . I still know how to prepare this , thank for the video .

    Here in the north of Borneo we sometimes use sweet glutinous rice. Rice wine is also drank straight from jars with a bamboo straw.

    In Bengal and probably in Bangladesh too this is known as 'hariya' or the local calls it 'chullu'. It's one of the cheapest drink here and hariya is also used in catching fish.

      @@basma7663 It's okay to add sugar after fermentation but, really it is not necessary if you're drinking on day one. It will be sweet. But it get sour when you store it for 3/4 days!

      Water just waters it down and makes it easier to drink. If you do not add water the wine is super strong that can easily knock your socks off. It is up to you which you prefer.

    Wow..that's the same methods making rice wine in my country, chhyang we call it 'Tapai' and that yeasts was a 'sasad' in my ethnic language..
    We keep fermented it for one month to get more alcoholic taiste..

    Rice wine is prepared in India too but process is a little different here wine is also made from jambul (Java plum), Drumstick flowers and also from jaggery. Thanks for the video

    Almost equal to idly batter , we grind the rice , ferment it nd we keep it in the fridge for 1 week. Almost some wat similar the fermentation process . . We used to hve idly , dosa daily

      @@usamaalhaj80 These rice wine will not have longer time because no preservatives are used to be able to store them for longer use. I think the max is a week after that it will start tasting bitter. I would keep in in refrigerator (no in defrost though). Let me know how it long were you able to get the sweet taste!

      @@usamaalhaj80 If you want to try aging try pasteurising the full bottles before storing them. Pasteurising kills the yeast and bacteria in the bottles so it should preserve longer. Hell, after all you can buy Sake from stores, Rice wine should be able to be stored.

      You can follow the same process as this video and leave the fermentation for a month. Make sure you store it in a warm and dry place.

    When you sealed it up on the first fermentation, do you put the lid on tightly or loosely. Only asking because in other methods of making wine, if you put the lid on tightly it explodes

    How about the measurement of yeast??? Does it matter with the rice??? And for example you only use 2 or 3 cups of rice.. after 6 days will you still add 2 litters of water??? Or will depend on the measurement of rice?? Gonna try it soon. Thanks! 😀

      Thanks for your comment. Use approx. 20gm yeast for 250gm rice. Add water enough to completely drown all you rice yeast mixture.

      Thank you for your comment. Without refrigeration, it will not last long than 3 days. Idea temp is around 41 F

    I belong to an indigenous tribe from Chhattisgarh.
    This is basically a seasonal beverage made in summer.
    It’s called “Hadiya” in Sadri dialect

      awenindoe No you can’t use instant yeast. It has to be brewing yeast.

      To enhance alcoholic content, I think, must add sugar too and to be kept for atleast 10 days ..

    I tried it, I kept to ferment for almost 2 weeks and the taste is great and gets you high too, now should I store the wine in refrigerator or at room temperature?

      I'm glad it worked out for you. I would suggest storing it in refrigerator. It turns sour quickly if kept in room temperature. Storing in the refrigerator keeps it last longer without loosing taste.

      sachin shrivastav this is not poisonous at all. We make it at home and drink it. Alcohol percent will be higher than 5%

      I'm assuming you're talking about the final color. That's how it would be if we use rice. To make it clear, you'd have to follow distillation process of wine making which is a whole different process.

      If u want a clear water (wine) boided it using pressure cooker put a hose in PCooker's lid/cover anf w8 for the moist and then put in the bottle.

      Hichigo Madara You have to boil the rice wine.. the vapour from the boiling rice wine should be piped into a separate container... do not let the vapour out except through the pipe. Once the vapour becomes liquid, seal the container and wait for the liquid to cool. You can drink it then. This is more potent than undistilled rice wine, alcohol can be anywhere between 30%-40%

      wine yeast is bred to obtain higher alcohol level than bread yeast means less CO2 gas. so if you are planning to make wine with bread yeast, you can but you'll sacrifice alcohol and flavor.

      yes you can use it as long as yeast is alive but dormant. I would suggest to use the yeast for brewing to get a better taste. We've never tried using the fresh yeast therefore can say for sure.

      TangSooDoArnis4Life yass. This is phytoplanctonic-sahi-ho-nuclearbomb yeast. It can typically be found in western tibet and lowlands of north korea where there is very less rainfall. Also , it tastes like heaven but burns like hell when you poop.

      You can try it when it is freshly made. The strength depends on how much one can handle it :D

    Do not throw the left over rice after straining, put it in a container pour some water to cover it at least a few inches over the rice add a few spoons of sugar cover it with a cloth and tie it so that insects do not get inside, keep it for two or three weeks, stir it once or twice initially so the sugar mixes up with the rice. Just leave it alone. After 3 weeks stir it and strain. If the vinegar is not ready, not sour enough leave it for a few days or one week. Your rice vinegar, free of cost is ready. Strain and bottle. Please do not use steel spoon to stir it, only clean wooden spoon or stick.

      If you drink a lot yes you will. We've not measured the alcohol percentage but its pretty certain that it will more than in beer

      ron rocks yass definitely. It's better than coke and lsd. There was a time once when i got so drunk of of this rice ko jaad that i literally started seeing donald duck and mickey mouse around me. Later on i realized that i was upside down inside an open drain pipe smelling that dope ass poop

    I brewed whiskey out of jaggery few days ago as its alcohol contents are high and its flammable as well so i used the first batch to make sanitiser and the second batch i gave to my friend.

    because we don't drink alcohol in Indonesia we make something like this but only for 48 hours then you can eat the rice it's called Tapai, you wouldn't get drunk
    tasty though

    Hi, i just wanted to ask, what do you do with the used up rice? Do you throw it or keep it for making chhyang next time? If you keep it then how do you recycle that rice to make chhyang, do you add it to fresh rice and new yeast? Or simply the same thing again? Could you please make a second video on how you use that leftover rice? Thanks for this lovely video. Will surely try it. :)

      Pick the best yeast. The quality of yeast determines the quality of Wine

      Ant man, the only way to increase the alcohol content is by distilling it, it may shoot up to 45 to 50 % for the first litre (depends amount of rice you ferment)✌

      lester beauti rice in combination with the yeast has a sweet taste. It fades away after some days thats when we added sugar.

    Is it very pungent when we open it up after 5 days? Also the tho: that we find back home are kinda sweet, do we need to add sugar to make it sweet? Thanks for the video!

      Thanks for the comment. It has a smell but not that pungent. When it smells, it means it's ready to add water. Adding more yeast will add sweetness to it. Sugar can be added in the mixture later.

      Ahh that's good to know. The smell is the only thing that was concerning for me as I live in an apartment and I do not want the whole building smell like Tho: :)...Thanks for the comment, I will give this a shot soon and will let you know about the results!

      We live in a small apartment too and use the walk-in closet to leave it for fermentation. The smell is not that bad and it goes away soon. Good luck.
