If you have a river with over 3 mph of current, you can let the line out and try that method. But yes, a boat is the best way to fix your line. Thanks for watching.
I was so excited to see this video like yesss finally get to see what to do! But I don’t have a boat!!! Everything else made perfect sense, specially changing the line twist memory.. going to adapt the method and tie it to my mail box and ride my bike down the block, have my son cut the end once I’m down the block
*Bought a 500 for an ultralight rod. It's very smooth **enjoyable.fishing** recommend casts great. One odd thing- the bale wire is a bit heavy diameter in my opinion for a reel of this size. But a great purchase.*
A big tip right of the bat is just to make sure when spooling, you have it coming off the spool the correct direction. Over time, mono gets a little crazy and this tip is great! good video.
i chucked my spool in my drill , and loaded it directly . didn't even remove spool of line from package . zero line twist . just remember to keep crisscrossing as you load , and check that it loads evenly .
The best way to avoid line twist in spinning reels is to not turn the handle when a fish is pulling line off of the spool! When you hear the drag do NOT turn the handle. If you do this you probably will not have line twist issues!…..just saying 😁❤️🎣❗️
Took my brand new Battle II 5000 for a spin yesterday for the very first time and I hooked a 20lb yellowtail using a Ugly Stik X2 (medium hard) rod ua-cam.com/users/postUgkxM68VkfsQhHaabDce1IwOCXuvumcpbZ_k . This combo was recommended on some website and it did not disappoint me. The reel is smooth, the drag click is pretty cool cause i think it adds to the excitement of fighting the fish, personally the drag is my favorite part. I use braid and 300 yards will fill the entire spool. This combo is my main setup from now on although I have to disclose I am new to fishing.
I think mine happened because I was holding my line to cast to high and I also set up somewhere I kept getting caught and when I stopped casting with my finger holding the line to high it only did it after I kept getting stuck
@@beawesomeoutdoors thank you! I actually got this same tip right after posting my original comment. It worked and I haven’t had a problem with the line getting tangled or getting loose since.
Since I fish from shore, straightening a line from a boat doesn't help me. It keeps tangling and I need to prevent that. 4 videos on here and nothing yet.
@@RondoOfChaos you can try running your spool of line under some very warm water for a few minutes. That can also help. I belive they make a spray you can put on your line, but I have never tried it.
@@_birdhousemusic you could drag it in the grass. But I would be concerned with hurting the line on something abrasive. The point of seating it in the water is like ironing your line and taking the memory out of the line.
If you have a river with a lot a current, you can try letting your line out and brining it back it. Keep the line tight when you bring it back in. You could also try running your spool under some hot water for a few minutes. Good luck fishing and Hopefuly that helps.
That's one of the advantages of braid. You don't have this problem. Well, I haven't had this problem. Yet I use mono the most. I feel each line has a time and place.
non boat method that works better is unspool amount of line your going to use and stretch it out , no need to do hole spool , zero memory for that day of fishing process needs to be repeated daily if you want zero memory in line
Only just discovered your channel so I'm working my through your other videos picking up some great tips - many thanks. Good to see you doing a bit of lure fishing - it would be great to see a video from you dedicated to using lures off the shore in the Kent/SE area.
great advice for the 99% that don't have boats.
Just need a boat, roger.

Great video. I guess I'm off to buy a boat now.
John Doe 🤣🤣🤣🤣
I'm so done. Lol that's what I was like when he said let the line out go fowsrd with the boat lol
Same. lol.

Here in the future to let you know this is still a great comment 😂😂😂
A big tip right of the bat is just to make sure when spooling, you have it coming off the spool the correct direction. Over time, mono gets a little crazy and this tip is great! good video.
Fishing MN thank you. I forgot to mention that.
There must be a less expensive method of doing this - buying a boat to untwist your line seems a bit excessive. Good tip though.
Tie a rock to your line and walk down the highway lol
Try soaking your line in very warm water. That may help release some memory. You can also try this trick in a fast flowing river
i was so hopefull until that part in the video.shame, bought 2 rods nd they both got tangled af before i could even cast
Lol I was thinking the same!
No bull. Best line management video on UA-cam. I’ve seen most. Thanks.
Dude I wish I'd seen this before I put my newly spooled spinner rod away for the day yesterday after it kept unspooling. Great tip hopes this works
This video was super helpful and you explain it so well
amazing video, very calming.

Wtf I'm the first one to thumb this comment up in 7 months?
Wow, this is the best comment in the dam section
Can this be done on dry land? I have no boat and motor ... fish off my dock.
Am your 100th comments❤️
This is clearly for people who are on the water and have to change their line lol. Nice video
Idk if this works for anyone else but putting the spool in hot water seems to work for me after putting on new line
That is great advice. Thank you!
Thanks for the video here! What if you dont have a boat, any suggestions on how to fit new spool memory?
Try soaking your new spool of line in very warm water before you spool it on. That can help release some memory.
Thanks man. Fixed my problem
How do you do that if you don’t have a boat

Thank You.....This Thing Was Killing Me
I Spend To Much Money In New Lines and Reels
Was going to the store to buy new line
But now I need a boat!
I can’t even take my line out it’s coming out under the reel somehow but it’s not going through the top I’m so confused

Majority of people dont have a boat though
How long does it take to break in fishing line
I like to let all my line out and drag it for 3-5 min at about 5 mph. I have found that the warmer the water is, the better this trick works.
Thank you for watching and I hope you enjoy a few of our other videos.
You are a hero, thank you
Awesome man thumbs up
I came here to so how to get it out. I did not learn that.
I don’t have a boat.. Will just letting my reel sit with the new line on it reset the line’s “memory” over time?
Try putting the spool in very warm water. That can help release some memory in the line.
@@beawesomeoutdoors thank you! I actually got this same tip right after posting my original comment. It worked and I haven’t had a problem with the line getting tangled or getting loose since.
Can't put my rod in the truck bed without a bit of tangling that leads to me getting mad and a knife getting involved.
Cool thanks for the tip!

Sorry I wasn't able to help.
and if you dont have a boat?
You can let you line out in a river. Just make sure you don't have to much debris in the river. You don't want to damage your line.
@@beawesomeoutdoors and you don't live near a river? :|

What if you don't have a boat
Great idea...if you have a boat.
Thats cool but i cant run that fast and avoid the rocks and bends.
Thank you so much
I never have an issue. I just let my spool of line bounce all over the living room while I'm filling my reel.
Now I gotta buy a boat lol
That helped, thank you!!!
Your welcome
I need to do this

It didn’t work the line is to tight around my line I think UA-cam broke my rod
thanks ❤️
PS what if you don't have a Boat???.
0:40 ties his hands together 🤣 great video though
Ok boomer
huh?
But, I don’t have a boat though??
I'm sorry I wasn't able to help
Put your line on let it sit 4 a while your good do some cast it will break in….
Can I borrow your boat?
And for braided?

Step 1: buy a boat
Step 2: Fix your line.
Thats so little i got bird nest on ky whole line
Emin Iseni bruh same :(
Fix?
@@freepalestine7123 nope lol
Why wouldn't you tell me I need a boat lls

Real fishermen don't use fishing rods, just hang the line over index finger! 😁
Put the reel in hot water for a while
