Therefore, a possibility is that modern sonic gets killed and classic sonic returns back to the past so once he gets older to this point in time, he gets killed. Aaand it goes on a loop. Classic sonic is basically immortal and cannot be killed, it is impossible to kill him because modern sonic exists.
I would've loved the Time Eater boss, if I didn't hear Sonic's friends saying it looks like a homing shot in the background every 5 seconds. I also like how they changed it up a bit. Seeing as how Chaos, Dark Gaia, Shadow ended up betraying him, and possibly Mephiles/Iblis/Solaris betraying him, it felt good to see Eggman both future and past self, be able to control a powerful creature such as Time Eater even though it's said Time Eater is supposed to be the third part of Solaris.

I love this theme song, it's so underrated. Sonic Generations hasn't a really original theme song, but this one is awesome, and I love the time eater boss too
Just remember, the final attack they do in this fight is throwing a literal SUN at Sonic (both Sonics). This has been one of few times Eggman has actually thought/acted on KILLING Sonic. They fight, but they don't intend on killing each other. But this is one of the few times he actually legit tries to KILL HIM. Edit: Further thought on this made me realize I may have the big dumb.

Now let’s get in a whole big rant here. The Time Eater is the most powerful thing in all of Sonic, IT ERASES TIME AND SPACE, this caused the Sonic and Tails from the past to collide with the future Sonic and Tails, and not to mention that both Sonics were needed to destroy this boss, which again, ERASES TIME AND SPACE, if this thing didn’t even decide to fight Sonic in the first place it would’ve taken over universe probably.
Well erasing time and space is exactly what it was doing. Sonic and co spend the game chasing the origin of the time erasures, which lead them to confront the Eggmans. It’s not like Eggman sent him an invitation to foil his plan.
Solaris is almost infimotly more powerfull then the time eater Not that solaris was going to destroy EVERYTHING not just time and space. Apart from that his omnipresence gives him an edge aswell. The time eater is a baby compared to solaris
i got onto this stage for like an hour straight because i couldnt figure out how to go through the lava i just kept on spamming the two buttons instead of holding it, when i finally figured it out i felt so stupid lol this was a LONG time ago and I still remember it for some reason
Literally the only thing I remember from this fight was everyone telling me to switch with the y button so I can attack him when you are literally never able to attack in 2D
Ah yes, the time eater, why did the God with the coolest design out of them all have to be the worst one? Chaos: you see him becoming more powerful and your goal is to stop him from becoming unstoppable, so when it's revealed that all of your efforts were futile and he DOES become the unstoppable being you've been trying to prevent existing, there's this sense of hopelessness as you watch him destroy a massive populated city in minutes (it also helps that it's literally been confirmed that half station Square straight up died during that incident bit that's besides the point), chaos is threatening, but at least after you neat him being super sonic, you realise that at least he isn't evil anymore, so he's not a one dimensional villain (unlike the time eater) The bio-lizard.... I haven't played adventure 2 yet... So I can't really give him an analysis without not bringing him justice, so I'm just not gonna do it at all. Mephiles: do I need to say and that hasn't already been said? Mephiles is basically the perfect villain, he has an origin, he's deceiving, he's menacing, he's creepy, he's a threat that lingers for the entirety of Sonic 06, he's always in the background but it never feels like he's just standing there wasting his time, not to mention he also grows as a character, as you see that the scepter of darkness can no longer contain him because he's grown too powerful. And again, like chaos, in the end he does succeed, and you see how he pretty much deleted an entire timeline from existence. That's again, really really threatening, even more so than chaos because you've seen what iblis has done in the future, you've seen who mephiles is since he has more characters than chaos, he's a fantastic villain. He may not have a real motive, and that's really my only problem with mephiles, I wish they had given us a reason as to why he's so evil (not to mention I'd like to know why the citizens of soleanna celebrate him when the King CLEARLY knew Solaris was evil, I would've preferred if they went the dark matter route and just made him the embodiment of Evil, but sonic 06's story was rushed, so maybe I'm answering my own question) Dark Gaia: He's again, a lingering threat throughout the entirety of unleashed, funny enough, he's actually pretty similar to Zero from the Kirby series, since you see how during the night, he kinda manipulates and corrupts the citizens of certain areas of the world to lend them to think that there's no hope anymore and the planet is gonna get destroyed, and of course, sonic being the werehog is also part of dark Gaia's influence, which makes him weaker and less agile, and not to mention the dark Gaia monsters you see during the night stages, or the fact that he literally split the entire planet apart simply by awakening, and during the climax, when he takes the powers of the werehog back, it really feels like if he's not stopped now, he will either destroy everything of everyone will fall under his negative influence (kinda like again, Zero and dark matter from Kirby) Compare all of that to the time eater, he shows up at the beginning and traps everyone in white space and destroys the timeline, the bare minimum for a time eating monster, but that's the beginning of the story, what happens next? Nothing, absolutely nothing, you see him being intimidated by ONE chaos emerald, then he never shows up again until the end where it's revealed that the eggmen where controlling it the whole time, imagine if at the end of unleashed dark Gaia reveals that he was actually controlled by eggman, would the situation feel nearly as tense? No, no it wouldn't, and it's a shame, like I said, I love the design of the time eater, but they just wasted him in comparison to the other gods in the series.
this always brings me bad memories, i never could beat the game because i couldn't press the two buttons to end the fight, i used to play with a keyboard and when i was little, i didn't know about key bindings and stuff, so i reached the end of the game without drifting or side stepping, it was so painful to not be able to complete it also once i tried to change the name of the game but i did it in the .exe file, not the direct access so from then on i never could play Sonic Generations again because i didn't knew i fucked up the launcher sad :(

i got onto this stage for like an hour straight because i couldnt figure out how to go through the lava i just kept on spamming the two buttons instead of holding it, when i finally figured it out i felt so stupid lol this was a LONG time ago and I still remember it for some reason

Ah yes, the time eater, why did the God with the coolest design out of them all have to be the worst one?
Chaos: you see him becoming more powerful and your goal is to stop him from becoming unstoppable, so when it's revealed that all of your efforts were futile and he DOES become the unstoppable being you've been trying to prevent existing, there's this sense of hopelessness as you watch him destroy a massive populated city in minutes (it also helps that it's literally been confirmed that half station Square straight up died during that incident bit that's besides the point), chaos is threatening, but at least after you neat him being super sonic, you realise that at least he isn't evil anymore, so he's not a one dimensional villain (unlike the time eater)
The bio-lizard.... I haven't played adventure 2 yet... So I can't really give him an analysis without not bringing him justice, so I'm just not gonna do it at all.
Mephiles: do I need to say and that hasn't already been said? Mephiles is basically the perfect villain, he has an origin, he's deceiving, he's menacing, he's creepy, he's a threat that lingers for the entirety of Sonic 06, he's always in the background but it never feels like he's just standing there wasting his time, not to mention he also grows as a character, as you see that the scepter of darkness can no longer contain him because he's grown too powerful. And again, like chaos, in the end he does succeed, and you see how he pretty much deleted an entire timeline from existence. That's again, really really threatening, even more so than chaos because you've seen what iblis has done in the future, you've seen who mephiles is since he has more characters than chaos, he's a fantastic villain. He may not have a real motive, and that's really my only problem with mephiles, I wish they had given us a reason as to why he's so evil (not to mention I'd like to know why the citizens of soleanna celebrate him when the King CLEARLY knew Solaris was evil, I would've preferred if they went the dark matter route and just made him the embodiment of Evil, but sonic 06's story was rushed, so maybe I'm answering my own question)
Dark Gaia: He's again, a lingering threat throughout the entirety of unleashed, funny enough, he's actually pretty similar to Zero from the Kirby series, since you see how during the night, he kinda manipulates and corrupts the citizens of certain areas of the world to lend them to think that there's no hope anymore and the planet is gonna get destroyed, and of course, sonic being the werehog is also part of dark Gaia's influence, which makes him weaker and less agile, and not to mention the dark Gaia monsters you see during the night stages, or the fact that he literally split the entire planet apart simply by awakening, and during the climax, when he takes the powers of the werehog back, it really feels like if he's not stopped now, he will either destroy everything of everyone will fall under his negative influence (kinda like again, Zero and dark matter from Kirby)
Compare all of that to the time eater, he shows up at the beginning and traps everyone in white space and destroys the timeline, the bare minimum for a time eating monster, but that's the beginning of the story, what happens next? Nothing, absolutely nothing, you see him being intimidated by ONE chaos emerald, then he never shows up again until the end where it's revealed that the eggmen where controlling it the whole time, imagine if at the end of unleashed dark Gaia reveals that he was actually controlled by eggman, would the situation feel nearly as tense? No, no it wouldn't, and it's a shame, like I said, I love the design of the time eater, but they just wasted him in comparison to the other gods in the series.
This theme is so awesome. It gives a sense of ominous and intimidation along with how creepy the Time Eater looks.
When Sonic is Boosting hes like a moving meteor attacking the Time Eater
this always brings me bad memories, i never could beat the game because i couldn't press the two buttons to end the fight, i used to play with a keyboard and when i was little, i didn't know about key bindings and stuff, so i reached the end of the game without drifting or side stepping, it was so painful to not be able to complete it
also once i tried to change the name of the game but i did it in the .exe file, not the direct access so from then on i never could play Sonic Generations again because i didn't knew i fucked up the launcher
