Hey, remember when I said this episode of It's the Remix would be out in October? Good times...
Nevermind is of course Nirvana's most recognised album. But it almost sounded very different, as before the released mix Butch Vig had an alternate, first mix in hand. Is it better than what we got in 1991?

Really goes to show how important production, mixing, and mastering is to the final feel of a piece of music. Sound engineers are the unsung heroes of the industry

Could not agree more. Without George Martin, there is no Beatles. Without Alan Parsons, Abbey Road and The Dark Side of the Moon would have sounded very, very different. Engineers and producers do so much work and rarely get the buzz they deserve.
