I recently replaced my existing Haloview Ultimate RD7R wireless RV rearview camera system with the new Byte Tango model BT7 Plus. The RD7R system has worked perfectly for almost two years, but the Byte Tango has several exciting new features and improved resolution!

New Byte Tango Features:
- 1080P Resolution and Recording vs. 720P
- New Generation Wireless Tech for Less Lag and Inference
- Interference-free reception for vehicles up to 65 feet guaranteed
- Full-Color Dim-Light Night Vision
- Controllable Night Vision Fill Lights
- It can be Linked to Sens 3 BlindSpot Radar
This first video shows you what is included in the BT Plus model and walks you through installing the system for my Keystone Cougar fifth-wheel trailer and Ram 3500 pickup truck. We finish it off with a quick demo.
So far, I'm highly impressed with the improvements in picture quality and display brightness. Haloview has always been good, but this one is even a step above. It's excellent in low light levels, and the powerful LED night lights will be terrific for late-night campsite arrivals.
Stay tuned for my second video. After I use this system for a few weeks of camping and travel, I'll come back with real-world footage and a full review of this new system.

Welcome Home Ray & Ann !
OMG, haloview did great job, the image looks so good.
I’m about to install. Thank you.
Excellent video. Thanks for posting. The camera work was fantastic. I would have no problem installing this on my pull behind trailer.
I installed mine yesterday, rear view only to replace my Furrion S camera. Image quality looks great. Will be testing this week driving from Kansas to Texas
Have a great trip!
Thanks Ray! - I have an older system from Rear View Safety (RVS) which services more the commercial truckers.
Still pretty happy with it - I chose a wired system to avoid any of the RF issues that were present then - plus I operate HAM radio and wasn't sure what effect that might have on an RF based system.
Just the one camera in the rear (which I wouldn't feel safe driving without!) Plus I can be sure I don't backup over my wife who guides me into sites! 😉
Excellent, looking forward to further review. I would like to mention the cute Beagle in the dash may be distracting.
Hey Ray! I like it!
One thing I'd be doing is to add a bump stop that the two side hatch door can hit just before contacting the cam/marker light unit. Good chance of bumping them with the door while taking the tank in/out and risk breaking the cam off.
Also, though too late for you having installed already, I'd be tempted to use the screws holding the junction box lid and bracket made from a piece of aluminum flat bar or painted wood to mount the back cam too. Maybe with a support leg that would rest on the roof, held down with some 3M VHB tape or adhesive. Just thinking it would avoid drilling more dreaded holes in the rv exterior. Or, if no junction box, use 3M VHB tape and a bigger base plate to mount it, rather than holes. Just a thought.
Excellent review. Very clear and helpful. The BT7 should be the best wireless observation camera on the market so far. I will seriously consider investing in one.
BT7 looks great, time to replace my 3 year old MC7108.
Very cool I’m glad they have upgraded everything are you going to do a video travelling thanks ray
Good information
Nice
Can you give some more description of the velcro straps and how you connected them to the display? I have the older 720res system.
Here is from my previous RD7R model video that had a kit that included the mirror mount ua-cam.com/video/Fch7zUPq1u8/v-deo.html They just wrap around the mirror and Velcro to tighten.
www.haloview.com/haloview-mirror-mount-for-rear-view-camera-monitor.html
Ray, Great video. So, this system doesn't need the wire to run to the front of the rig from the rear view camera to get signal? Is this correct?
Thanks. :) Yes, that is correct. It's suppose to have an all new wireless signal system compared to the older models so no need for a booster. But none of the older model cameras will work with this new system. Cheers, Ray
Thank you Ray for all your reviews, updates and upgrades. We also liked your travel videos. we recently bought a used 29 ft Cougar and will be pulling it with my 1999 F350 single cab with aluminum flatbed. I am interested in the 4 camera BT7 system. I want to mount 2 cameras in the back with 1 viewing the road and 1 viewing my bike rack. I am curious whether I will need to add an extender booster antenna or will the reception be good. Also will this new system even allow me to add a booster antenna to the cameras or to the monitor and set antenna on my cab. I love the 1080 picture quality in your review. I look forward to your review while traveling and how this system signal and reception works while driving. Thank you.
You're very welcome. As far as I know, there is no booster option for the Byte Tango system. It's supposed to use a newer advanced wireless system that is guaranteed to work for a 65-foot rig. The actual line of sight is 984 feet. I've done a 40 mile trip so far and results were good, tomorrow we take a trip of about 200 miles on busy highways, through towns and into the back country, Should make for a good test at speed and in varying light conditions. I'll pull some footage from the recording in the SC card and put in the review video. Cheers, Ray
Will this all tie into my F350 with Sync 4 Screen? I'd like to avoid cluttering up my dash. I have the mirrors that blink when something hits my blind spots as well. It would be nice to have it all on the factory screen. I'll look forward to your "testing" videos.
No, this is completely separate wireless system for people that don't have the built in stuff.
This looks like just the system I have been looking for. Unfortunately, it is listed as "Out Of Stock" and "Please note: This is a pre-sale product". When will it be available to the general public? Also, I note in your video there is one channel with nothing showing. Can I hook up a fourth camera? I really want to have a camera showing the bed of my truck to aid in hitching up and when I am not towing the trailer. I really like the floodlights on the cameras. Does this system have a record function to playback video later? If so, what is the record length? Thanks for the review.
Not sure when they will get it back in stock. Must have been a popular system or maybe shipment is delayed. Yes, it can run up to 4 cameras, there is actually a different package that comes with 4 - www.haloview.com/byte-tango-7-ultimate.html?acc=413 The display has a micro SD card slot that can take up to a 250GB card and it will record the camera views in HD resolution and 5 minute length clips. They can be played back on the display or the card removed and played on a computer. I've tested the recordings on a recent trip with the trailer and they look pretty good. Will show samples in my next video. Cheers, Ray
I use the older version 720p on a crane that is 145 feet long and pretty much never had it disconnected I use the magnetic battery pack on the camera and in 6 hours it only uses one bar out of four
Ray, Another great video. We were gifted this system for Christmas. We installed the two side cameras today and tried to pair them to the screen. The screen kept showing no signal. We had used the hack of a 20 amp fuse to jump at the seven pin plug to power the trailer lights, the camera lights came on. Powered up the monitor from a 12 volt plug from inside the trailer with a 12' extension so we were within a few feet of each side camera, but was unable to pair them. Is there something we are missing. There doesn't seem to be much info on problem with pairing this equipment. Look forward to your incite, Thanks
Usually, if it came as one kit the cameras are pre-paired. Here was my second video in this system ua-cam.com/video/lJpAeAc_AbE/v-deo.html Pairing method is located near the end of the manual haloview-user-manual.s3.us-east-2.amazonaws.com/BT7_User_Manual.pdf
Swap the left to the right and right to the left propane doors and frame they will fully open with cameras there
The only problem with that is if the catches were forgotten to lock in place the door could have issues during travel. For example, my passenger side one if open would slam into the awing strut and if not noticed right away at highway speeds likely rip the door off as the hinges are not that strong. Cheers, Ray
Could you unscrew your propane door hinges and flip them to open the opposite way?
Hinges are riveted to the frame. Could unscrew the frame and clean up all the old sealant flip and reseal.
Ray, how did you hardwire the monitor to power?
I spliced it into my truck's 12V power socket feed. Here is a look at a different video about a dashcam install but shows the just of it. ua-cam.com/video/FQYlvDeS52s/v-deo.html
Ray, I received a new m5111 haloview. Are you busy? Trying to pair it. Thanks
What model camera are you trying to pair it with, did the camera come with the display? Some cameras don't work with some displays. Like for example I think the Byte Tango don't work with older models.
Usually the way to do it is go into the display menu and select pairing and start the pairing. Then within a certain amount of time you have to push a little button located on the camera, usually within 20 or 30 seconds. Sometimes you have to do it a few times or reboot the display to make it work.
www.haloview.com/support/installation-tips.html
I have the Haloview HD7. The side cameras have been nothing but trouble since I purchased and installed them. I had a cover over my rv, and when the storage folks removed it they broke the antenna on one of the side cameras. Since then, after replacing the antenna and resynching the cameras, the side cameras only work when the rv is not moving. The rear camera now has so much lag that it is dangerous (vehicles are passing me and they are still behind me in the monitor). So it is time to do away with the old. So I’m really interested in your review and it is so timely.
I didn’t see a repeater in this new unit, is that true?
Do the buttons stay lit? Mine go off and I have yet to find a way to keep them lit when it is dark. Very frustrating.
I am about to throw the RD7 away as unsafe and unusable, so I am very interested in your next video. Actually I’ve never been totally satisfied with the system as it lags and jumps as I drive.
Curious if you investigated the Vision Works camera system that TechnoRV sales?
I've used the Ultimate RD7R 4 camera system since Sept 2020 and its worked well. I didn't even need the repeater I wonder if you have some type of interference from the RV or truck electronics or maybe a bum display unit. This new generation uses a new wireless system so they say a repeater is not need up to 65 feet. Haven't heard of the Vision Works before.
@@LoveYourRV you might be interested in this video that talks about the Vision Works backup camera system
ua-cam.com/video/M7fOEzV5hNM/v-deo.html&feature=share
The specs between the two systems are very similar. A four camera Haloview system is about $320 less than Vision Works. But I am having a hard time convincing myself to trust in another Haloview system after all of the issues I’ve had with that brand. Their tech support was ok. Really interested in your next video.
Thanks for sharing
If I get the unit with 4 cameras the extra back camera could I use that on the dash of my truck for recording in front of my truck? If so how would I wire that...cigarette lighter? I have 2 of them in my truck plus 2 outlets. Thanks!!
@LoveYourRV great thanks! I'm the type that would need a video for this and can't find a UA-cam video for this exact thing. Haha so if you are looking to do videos maybe a good one to do? 4 camera's and 360 recording around truck and camper
@@LoveYourRV also do you have a discount code?
Thanks, you could try loveyourrv not sure if it is still valid, though.
seems like a great system! my only issue is how they play with words in the description this is unfortunate and very common today the part about Full HD lens? the Lens can't determine the Resolution only the sensor does. This is like the HD Antenna commercials when the antenna itself doesn't have anything special about it except the Advertisement statement "Super HD Reception!!" . I know it's nitpicking but it's misleading. I'm an old electronics thinker Radio Shack was a popular place with me when they didn't sell cell phones lol. anyway always take claims with a grain of salt the people that are paid to write them usually have no idea what they are doing.
I think some stuff gets lost in translation. They are a company from Hong Kong so I notice some descriptions sound a little off when it gets translated to English.
@@LoveYourRV true I'm just nitpicking because almost everything we buy today comes from that part of the world, you would expect they would have mastered their translation by now 🙃😀 I think they might copy and paste a lot?
We currently have a Furrion camera because the RV was prewired for the Furrion, the picture quality is awful, the company only wants to sell me a new one. In our opinion it’s junk. Could this replace the Furrion system, would new wires need to be run. Great video, thank you.
Haloview sells an adapter kit for the Furrion mount. See here www.haloview.com/furrion-prewire-bracket-and-power-adapter-for-haloview-mc5111-camera.html Here is an install video ua-cam.com/video/3DG78_73Zng/v-deo.html I know it worked for the older cameras but not 100% sure about this newest model. You could ask Haloview directly here www.haloview.com/contact-us Cheers, Ray
My side markers are vertically oriented… You can’t rotate these right?
That's right, as far as I know. The image can be flipped side to side and up and down in the display software but not rotated.
Hello…are you still using STARLINK? If not why not?
Yup posted about it last week. :) ua-cam.com/channels/N84xiPAVdIdNLQjQ97d8fw.htmlcommunity?lb=UgkxYgb3JOhzMTvsdfoX8pxJl2dTOnjm-w33
"Was able to easily reactivate my Starlink now that I'm back in Canada. The old dish was auto-updated to the latest firmware and is working well. Even with lots of trees around where we are camped right now, it's usable. No problem streaming video, uploading, and downloading. Video conferencing or gaming would be terrible but I don't do much of that. You can see the obstructions it sees and disconnect stats in a few pictures from the Starlink App."
How do you get a hold of Haloview I can't find a phone number anywhere I hat to buy something where you can't even reach the company
There is no phone number that I'm aware of they are Hong Kong-based. Find contact email addresses here www.haloview.com/contact-us
Just a heads up. It's the Chinese New Year holiday, Spring Festival, a big holiday time, and workers usually get a week off so may not get an answer till after the 17th
THANK YOU@@LoveYourRV
HOW DO YOU PAIR THEM?? NO ONE SHOWS YOU HOW TO PAIR!
Usually they come pre paired so no need. But if you do need to its easy and described in the manual. Select pairing mode in the display settings and then within about 30 or so seconds press a small button on the camera. I mentioned it on my part 2 video where I went through all the settings ua-cam.com/video/lJpAeAc_AbE/v-deo.html Cheers, Ray
I received my new camera in May for my RV trailer...I an still having trouble...I have two side cameras ..one camera in the front ..one camera in the back
The back camera light will not turn on..I received a new camera...still no luck the back camera light will not turn on...I have moved the positions of the cameras on the monitor screen..no back light...now one of the side cameras is flashing..when I was taking a picture of the cameras with my phone the phone made the flashing side camera stop flashing for a moment...but my husbands phone up to the camera it did not stop the flashing....shut the monitor off
🤔😣😶Any suggestions
Working with Haloview still
Appears to be the monitor
The flashing side light is white
Looks like an emergency flashing
All four cameras have a blue light on
I have moved the cameras to the # 4 position on the monitor no cameras using the settings will allow the white backup/safety night light to turn on the light on ..the monitor says it is on but it is not on
Monitor problem 🤔
Maybe try watching my follow-up video. I go through the BT7 display settings and demo the floodlight function ua-cam.com/video/lJpAeAc_AbE/v-deo.html Cheers, Ray
Hi
I checked all my connections
Battery etc
All good
With the suggestion of making the room dark checked the cameras out in the evening the #4 light turned on ....I put a cardboard in the only window in the garage today #4 light came on...the left side camera near the wall with no window is flickering constantly any suggestions for this
😜🤔😲
The videos are great
Discount code?
loveyourrv may work for some stuff if not on sale already, but I think its only about 15 or 20 bucks. Cheers, Ray
Very pricey $503 is it 4k?
No, its HD. Its a little more pricey I think because it also mates with the blind spot radar system Being that its wireless having 4K video is a ton of data to transmit wirelessly and process/record. So likely wouldn't work that well. Also with the same fish eyed lens there isn't a whole lot of difference between 4K and 2k or HD. I've tested a lot of dash cams and you can't tell much difference other than larger files sizes to deal with. Here is the second video ua-cam.com/video/lJpAeAc_AbE/v-deo.html (BT7 Plus) Road Test Results and Review
Ray, this explains why fuel prices are threw the roof in the USA.
ua-cam.com/video/BjsUkFUU2BA/v-deo.html
this is from a truck drivers channel. It is explained in one sentence. I think you will find this very informative.
ahhh, yes everyone on UA-cam has a theory. :)
@@LoveYourRV Ray, if you watch the video it's not a theory, it's the CEO of Pilot & Flying-J truck stops. He is explaining why and how fuel prices are falsely being jacked up.
Found this article that explains it. More believable than a big conspiracy by "elites". www.trains.com/trn/news-reviews/news-wire/poor-rail-service-threatens-u-s-economy-shippers-tell-federal-regulators/

Don't be fooled; there is no night vision. Notice the white-light led's that surround the lens--there are no IR led's, which are illuminators for a real night vision camera & lens. This is a daylight-only camera system.
The LED flood light is much better for backing in I find versus the previous IR LED models. They had a pretty limited range.
I am not pleased with Haloview. I installed a model M5111 and it worked fine for 1 1/2 seasons and then one day it stopped. No help from Haloview. Out of warranty. Tried two new antennas. Wasted $20 there. Not a happy camper.
Which part is bad, the camera or display? I'm pretty sure I have a MC5111 display I don't need anymore in my storage room back in BC, could send it out to you come spring. That's the 5 inch model, right? Cheers, Ray
@@LoveYourRV thanks Ray. No the display is fine, I think it's the camera. I suspect it got water inside it but do not have the expertise to fix it. I opened the camera and it was dry.
Up until it stopped it was great and I miss it but not sure if I want to drop another $$$ on a system.
In Guelph ON.
I have some used cameras as well. If you're still looking by May when I'm back in BC give me a shout and will see what I have that may work with the 5111 display. Or you could send me your camera and I could see if I could repair it.
Blurry video..otherwise good.
Maybe your UA-cam connection isn't very good, or you have the resolution set down in the player. I just check it at 1080P HD, and it looked fine. Cheers, Ray
The camera system is total trash, don't waste your money.
I think people including me would take your comment more seriously if you could provide some details as to why?
Details?
How about they advertise 1080, except it doesn't record in 1080 if you have all 4 cameras recording, the actual recording is more like 480.
It WILL Not loop record, the memory card has to be reformatted to be able to record over it, which means you have ABSOLUTELY NO IDEA when it stops recording wile you're driving.
This thing is ONLY good for a backup camera (not recording) and thats it.
You email their customer service about it and they want your order number the date and time you ordered it and your name before they can even answer simple questions.
I told them it was not recording and they actually wanted me to send them video of it NOT recording.......how exactly do you do that?
I think people would take your channel "more seriously" if you would give an actual decent review without being so condescending.
@@skyeram I checked the video file recording details from my BT7 system, and they are 1080 30 FPS for all 3 cameras rear and 2 sides. Also, it will loop the record. I do it all the time. You have to go into the menu and choose the "Cover " option Check on page 18 of the manual haloview-user-manual.s3.us-east-2.amazonaws.com/BT7_User_Manual.pdf
