Hey Everyone, thanks for watching. Which of the watches mentioned was your favorite? Also, quick typo correction, the Lorier has a plexiglass NOT a sapphire crystal. This is commonly used in their watches across the board for more vintage appeal.

What I love about PRX, it looks so much like Rolex Oysterquartz Datejust 17000 ( a goal watch of mine)...so i can get something similar for much cheaper. Also I believe the Datejust was designed by Genta!

The Zelos Nova Aventurine is a nice micro brand watch I had no idea about and really want to see if I can get my hands on one to add to my collection. I just picked up a Tudor Heritage 1926 M91550-0005 and would love to see you do a review on it . Thanks Teddy for all the knowledge on this channel, as I could not have started building a collection without it.

    • @tikiecue5677

This. That is why you buy the watches you really want and you can afford. If you like watches you will wear, can afford now, and will have no problems replacing anytime, affordable watches is you jam. If you are into collecting, history, prestige, and mostly just looking at your watches most of the time, and have a deeper pocket, then definitely buy from the big houses. It is your prerogative what you wear. If people notice you wear a pro-diver and judges you by it, then they are not even worth knowing. I want to introduce a new type of collector: The 2-watch collector. One beater, and one super watch you'd have to save for years. Just so when someone judges you by your beater watch, you can shut them up with the super high-end one. Lol!

@@Sandouras That doesn't answer the question. You said models costing 8-10,000 euros have ETA movement. Which models are these specifically? And don't move the goalposts again. In fact, very few of their models are even at the price point, aside from some special editions and precious metal variants. But actual regular production models? No. The Portugiesers are in-house. The Portofino 8-day handwound (in your price range) is in-house. Big pilot Annual Calendar Spitfire (in your price range) is in-house. Big Pilot 8-days, in-house. The only ETA-based SS models are well below your price range (Aquatimer, which is 300M WR by the way, Ingenieur, Mark XVIII, etc.). And let's not forget about the other aspects of the watch. It's not just the movement. Did you consider build quality? How about finishing?

Great video. I would add the Glycine Combat Sub. It represents quite the value at the current street price. I recently purchased the GL0092 version for $315. Last week, I visited a watch repair shop to get a battery for one of my quartz divers. I was wearing the Glycine and the proprietor of the shop congratulated me on my "nice Tudor Heritage Black Bay". The appearance of the two time pieces are quite similar. I've been impressed with everything about the Combat Sub, especially the case thinness and the finishes. It looks and feels more expensive than it is.

The Orient and Steinthart divers are really difficult to get around in terms of looking and feeling way more expensive than they are. To me, the much, much lower price functionally makes them far superior, more enjoyable watches than the more expensive ones they resemble, because you can wear them carefree, completely without fussing about them. Personally, I can't really like watches if they have any sort of remotely significant price tag and a WR below 10 bar, but that's just me, I know, for some the fussing and fragility is part of the charm.

Biggest miss on this list, in my opinion, is the Tissot Heritage 1948 Chronograph. It definitely is more than the sum of it's parts.
The Baltic - I have the Aquascaphe and a couple "kinda" watch people remarked at how expensive it looks compared to the price.
Omega Seamaster Diver 300 has always been a "no brainer" to me vs. something like Rolex. Great pick. I went for the Planet Ocean when I bought mine but only because the price difference wasn't huge at the time and it was more the one for me when I put it on.
Seeing Grand Seiko in person, they look like absolute jewels in the case at the shop. Quite special.

A great list Teddy, and terrific macro video as well. I can certainly agree with some on the list including the Omega 300M ideally with the white ceramic dial and black hands, The Grand Seiko Snowflake spring drive (I had a chance to see one of these with the gold markers and hands at an AD last year but was not sure if the at the time out of stock version with silver markers and hands would be better for me, in lock down now so maybe a missed opportunity). The JLC Reverso is just iconic to new or those who have spent maybe a little more time in this hobby, from personal experience those who know them seem to want to have a chat about them if they see it on the wrist, mine is a tad old and battle scarred but still gets comments, my watches are worn so will pick up damage so a value purchase of one that has already been though this makes sense. The new Tissot PRX looks great, as for the others I don't have any experience of them other than reviews so can't really comment but I'll take a look in the future.
