My wife gifted me the Mido Multifort Patrimony almost one year ago, and I couldn't be more happy with it. The way the blue sunburst catches the eye in certain lighting gives it the feel and pedigree of a watch several times its price. Purchased through TB as well! Thanks, Teddy!
I'm wearing the Mido Patrimony while reading your comment! So glad I listened to Teddy for buying this particular watch. One of the best kept gem with Mido.
I am discovering that straps and bracelets have a big role in versatility. Bracelets being the most versatile, rubber straps for sporty and casual, and leather straps for formal occasions. The PRX is the winner, in my opinion, because you can easily change the straps and the PRX straps are reasonably priced at $60.
But it uses their lowest grade c07-1xx movement. The Gentleman has their 2-tier upgraded c07.8xx movement that uses an anti-magnetic Silicium spring and all metal escapement, and can use many more types of straps. All this for only about $100 difference in price.
Hey teddy loved the video and great recommendations! One small correction though at 8:45, the Timex marlin jet doesn’t have a small seconds subdial, it’s actually a 24 hour subdial. Just thought I’d throw that out there!
I have the Powermatic 80 black dial 40mm and the Murph 42mm. I wear the Powermatic more because the bracelete is super comfortable but i love both. Great value for the money.
I'm glad to see the Lorier on this list, one of my favorites that I don't even own yet but the story and their inspiration of style is my type. I was surprised to not see Christopher Ward's C63 on here. Hands down one of the slickest and versatile under $1K watches out there in my opinion. Overall a great line up none the less and congratulations on the new store! Keep it up and this video is definitely saved to my "Watch List!"
Yeah, but for a little more money you can get things like hardness coating, anti-mag properties, and a more modern movement that isn't prone to stuttering. You're getting a pedigree brand but getting a de-contented watch to keep the price down. It's not a great value -- even for the lower price.
My wife gifted me a couple years ago the Laco Augsburg Blaue Stunde which has a blue sunburst type a dial and a grey nato strap. It is beautiful, and you are right about the case finishing being the same as their $1000 pieces. The lume is awesome on this watch, also.
I just got into watch collecting. I've loved watches since I was young but I never had anyone teach me or bring deeper into the world. amzwatch brought closer to a community and hobby I always wanted to get into more and that is incredibly meaningful to me !
Tens of hours learning about "go everywhere" watches under 1k and found one gem, that my wife will present me as an anniversary gift - Tissot Gentleman Powermatic 80 Silicium. That will be my first swiss made watches. And most of the info i got from Teddy here.. So congrats on opening your store, Teddy, and many many luck to you in your journey!
Loving my Hamilton Murph 38mm! The polished bezel portion does seem to pick up a lot of small scratches easier than I would have expected. I feel like it will acquire an overall “brushed” look before too long! Runs super accurate and I find myself just staring at the beautiful layout. Great watch!
@@Z-S-H Honestly I don’t have a lot to compare it to. I do notice the glare a bit but it isn’t a deal-breaker for me. I wouldn’t call it a “perfect” watch but it is very good…especially at this price point. I love the design and the overall look & feel on my wrist! I have other watches but this is my first Swiss automatic. I’m very happy with it. It has been keeping amazing time! It just feels…I dunno…more classic and solid than I’m used to. Very satisfied. But I know what to look for if and when I move into higher end watches. Currently eyeballin’ the Sinn U-50 Tegimented.
The Murph is my daily watch. I love it but with some minor complaints. The color contrast could have been better. Black dial with cream colored numerals. Not exactly the most readable in lower lighting situations. To make matters worse the lume is weak. Expected better from a $900 watch. Still, I love the look.
@@karmatologist I agree about some of that. Overall I think lume on most watches is kind of overrated. I have a Marathon GSAR with the tritium and that’s pretty useful. For the Murph, it isn’t exactly something I require “amazing” lume on. Overall it is a great looking and well-performing watch.
My last five sub-$1000 watches: • Seiko SARX029 Urushi dial • Bulova Lunar Pilot blue panda • Seiko 5 Sports Landshark • Seiko Presage Style 60s GMT Fume • Seiko Prospex Turtle
Picked up a amzwatch's watch as my first watch last month and I’m absolutely in love with it. Perfect size, looks elegant, very comfortable. Now my only problem is holding off from buying more watches so quickly!
got my 39mm with the white dial on the 3-link "Bader" bracelet watch on AMZWATCH 3 weeks ago and am loving it to pieces. Absolute fantastic watch that wears super comfortable on my 6.75 inch wrist. Chose the 3-link over the 5-link bracelet for the toolless quick adjustment. Way more comfortable than my Longines Hydroconquest 41 mm.
Been watching your videos for a while now and was inspired to start a collection. Started with the amzwatch, its specs for price and clean looks, now am looking for a dress watch to add.
You're the man Teddy. Always consistent and can read the room, some of us can't drop the five figures on a grail watch just yet so a nice sub 1K everyday piece is a great alternative!
I've been rocking a circula supersport watch, and it's been my go-to for almost everything. It's such a gorgeous watch without being too flashy, and it's extremely comfortable. I'm glad to see circula getting some love!!
Just sat down to watch my favourite 'watch guy' and you mentioned the very watch I'm wearing today, the Sternglas Asthet, which I've had for 9 months now and love it! I wear it with my business casual attire but also jeans & hoodie when going for a coffee...it suits most occasions.
Love the Gentleman!!! Looking for a dress watch and this fits the bill in price and looks! plus it's a Tissot!!! Thank you Teddy for showcasing such wonderful watches!!!
happy to see a variety of really nice options in the relatively affordable category. One brand that I rarely see mentioned (except for the Bambino) is Orient/Orient Star. I don't see a lot of macro video or discussion about those Orient Star options, but the pictures and specs have me curious about how they stack up against some of these.
Tissot Gentlemen is a slept-on banger. It's like a Tudor Ranger and an older 3oclock Omega Aqua Terra had a baby. Case is quite similar to the Tudor Ranger (which is fantastic), and the dial is similar to a pre-6oclock Aqua Terra.
My watch was purchased 2 years ago from MAMACOO and, to this day, it still looks and runs as well as it did the day it arrived. That movement has never missed a beat despite never having been serviced. I can't complain about that.
Great video, nice to see a Mido in today's episode. I also really do like the Mido 1959 commander. Good to see that alot of the watches today come with a good water resistance.😊😊
Great video, very accurate analysis. In my 4.5 years in the game as a watch collector and enthusiast, I collected a lot from amzwatch I was thinking I was able to get a blue SD but I'm not vip enough, but I'm not giving up. Hehe. Great video.
Great list overall. I would warn people, the Timex Marlin looks very cheap up close. It’s very light and rattles quite a bit due to the movement. Additionally, awkward strap size - you’ll want to change the strap as the one supplied is very rough and in my experienced rubbed quite a bit.
First actual watch I purchased for myself only about a year ago was a TimeX Harborside, The blue/red bezel, black dial with an NH35A. I have a few other watches including the Seiko SRPD59 that my parents purchased me as a gift for graduating College, but I wear that $300(CAD) TimeX every day and its honestly my favorite watch to wear out of the 4 or 5 I have now. The goal atm is to save around $1000-$1500 and purchase a personal "grail" watch and has been since I orignally seen it just over a year ago (and was one of the reasons ive now fallen into this hobby) which is the 1970s Seiko 6139-6002/6005 "Pogue". Its honestly one of the most gorgeous watches I've ever seen and hopefully will be added to my collection some day. Love your videos Teddy, Congrats on the new store!
AMZWATCH is one of my favorite watch manufacturers they do offer beautifull dials, good workmanship & moovements. That smooth sweeping second hand is truly mesmerizing!

You are absolutely correct about the Sternglas, easy to wear as well. Love my Gentleman in blue, Tissot makes some great watches. Add the Laco Augsburg 42mm, all bought from Teddy.
Hi Teddy, could you give us a review of the new Grand Seiko model? the SBGH343. I'd love to hear what you think of this new timepiece, and to see it through the wonderful images you always give us ! Thank you !

I like that micro brands get their fair share of stage time on that channel
This price they deserve even more attention. Many watches to get lost in.

This was the watch I wore on my wedding day! Needless to say it’s my favorite
I'm wearing the Mido Patrimony while reading your comment! So glad I listened to Teddy for buying this particular watch. One of the best kept gem with Mido.
I have two tone 38mm multifort. One of my fav in my collection, where I have watches from 500 to 3000 pounds. :)
Baby Alpinist is one of the most slept on Seiko. I like it more than the SPB121 tbh
Teddy mentioning Lorier a few times recently makes me so happy! Love their brand! I have a Falcon and a Hydra Zulu edition myself!

True true. But, the prx is no goldilocks for me it's either too small at 35mm or too big at 40.

I agree on the Tissot Gentleman. It's a fantastic first 'serious' watch. I still very much enjoy wearing mine.
Have the Hamilton auto 38 and the seiko spb 119, found it a little less confusing and versatile than the spb121. Congrats on the new boutique!
i got the hamilton expidition 37mm on braclet and spb155 with uncleseiko braclet :D

Well that's my watchrecon alerts thrown into chaos. You just introduced to at least 3 models that directly fit my current target objective.

Teddy,
In what order would you rank the following affordable watches. Tag, Movado, Mido, Hamilton, Tissot, Longines, Bulova and Seiko.
The hamilton jazzmaster performer is where it's really at. Maybe, maybe, if your wrist can swing it, an used Oris BC3 advanced day date.
The jazzmaster performer would be my pick for a versatile Hamilton too. It's a great watch.
Nice to see the microbrands, you should add Direnzo to the list.
I have the Seiko. It’s the first “proper” watch I’ve purchased in over 20 years. Now I’m on the slippery slope.
