It's fascinating to me how watching you paint in so much more enjoyable than simply viewing the finished piece. The way you apply your techniques and react to the chaotic nature of the flow of pigment and water on the paper is so beautiful in itself. What you're doing is really wonderful.
I have painted for many years. For me, it doesn't matter how you create something beautiful; this painting is an example. I love everything about it. And, thank you for sharing your technique. This painting is so beautiful, with so much atmosphere. Thanks again! ❤🙏
Beautiful job, good narration. Thanks. Viva makes a really good, absorbent, pure white paper towel that is completely smooth with no embossment to cause an imprint, and it’s great for lifting water or color directly off the paper.
I absolutely love the tutorial. The technique you taught the patience with how you explained the colour palette and the small tips on tubes n pans everything is so precious to know for a complete newbie who loves this watercolour art. So grateful . Yes practice is utmost important but so is guidance. Thank you, this is v helpful and inspiring. Stay blessed dear Karen.
😍😍😍 This made me tear up. I haven't been able to paint for about 2 months. Just to much to do att work and having some troubles in my life. But this mad me want to start again. Thank you 🙏 this is georgius
Thank you so much Lois! So pleased you like this painting! It was so therapeutic to paint! BTW love your channel! Wonderful, inspirational tutorials :)
@@LoisDavidsonArt That's so sweet of you to say! UA-cam has really helped me this passed year. I stopped teaching my students last March! I thought it would only be for a few weeks. I have really missed teaching face to face... but the interaction with people that love painting on youtube has been a lifesaver and has kept me sane!! 😊

Thank you so much Karen, I really really enjoyed watching you create this beautiful and uniquely inspiring piece. I absolutely love ❤❤❤❤ it and it’s so gorgeous I hope that you will get it framed and put upon your wall, to be enjoyed by everyone who is in your home. Please stay safe and well too xxxx Mags ❤❤❤❤❤❤
Hi Karen, I painted this stunning beautiful painting today. I only started to learn the painting at the end of Feb. Luckily I found your channel, I watch it every day, so much techniques I learnt from you. I couldn’t believe in a such short period, I can now do a such beautiful painting. Thank you so so much! ! You are a wonderful tutor, guide me to a simple and easy way. I wish I can show you my work. :)
Thank you so much Shelley! So pleased that you have learnt so much from the tutorials. I am also so delighted that you have created beautiful art work! Yeah!! You can share your work on the Facebook page:facebook.com/KarenRiceWatercolourChannel/ . Look forward to seeing it there :)
This is my cup of tea ,I love painting like this, Karen you've inspired me to use Brusho ,I didn't know what it was ,have already ordered it ,thank you so much for your lessons .
Your paintings are really beautiful, your technique produces amazing results and is very satisfying, and your commentary is so pleasant to listen to. Looking forward to many more and trying your technique! Thanks you very much!
You’ve made me love watercolor again. I forgot how free it can be. I’m gonna get back into it but some of the videos I’ve watched make it so intimidating. Thank you for this.
I like your paintings in this video. So beautiful, full of atmosphere and emotion and beautiful shapes. This art - such a beauty. It looks intentional, yet loose and expressive, it still seems like you know what you are doing, composition is very nice too. I find composition is the most important in abstracts as you don't have any definite shapes to distract your eye, so it becomes even more important.
Thank you so much for your lovely comment! I am so pleased that you enjoyed this tutorial. For more exclusive and in-depth tutorials why not think about joining my Patreon membership. www.patreon.com/karenriceart
Hello Karen so amazing I paint it but the result was not as yours ...it was pleasant to paint and I like it ...I used quinacridone gold and with turquoise it turned fastly greenish ...I would try it with burnt sienna ...thanks from France .
Ashtonishingly beautiful! I've learned this from your videos: True inspiration doesn't need any motives. You are always so full of the inspiration from within!
Thank you so much Barbara I am so pleased that you like this painting! I’m really delighted that you had a go at the acrylics… But I know what you mean about watercolour :-)
I have never seen anything so amazing and creative! Wow. Thank you for sharing that tutorial with us. I am enormously inspired by you today! Thank you for that gift!
This is so beautiful and inspiring! I am painting and drawing photo realisticly and very tightly. Everytime I try something loose and abstract I don't like the outcome. It looks so easy when you demonstrate it.
Thanks so much for your comment. I really sympathise with you about painting something loose and abstract, sometimes we can overwork it. Less is more really does seem to work in this style of painting. Have fun painting in this style :-)
I found your page today and started following. I was looking for techniques to try during my 100 day watercolor project this month and I'm learning so much.
It looks absolutly fantastic. I loved watching your process and forming out this beauty! Well, I guess first of all, I have to get over my fear messing it all up totally. Using an old painting or a bad one its a good idea, takes away the pressure of the must producing something good. Thank you dear Karen, for you lively and VERY helpful tutorials😍💕
Thank you so much! I am so glad that you are enjoying the tutorials. It’s worth painting on the back of an oil painting to build up the confidence. Hope you have fun painting this one.
My goodness! I really, really, really loved this one, Wow! I'm gonna give it another go as it was my first atmospheric. I went a little too dark not leaving enough light. Oh, how she loves a plastic card. What brand do you use, if I may ask? Windsor and Newton? 😅 So genuine. How can I not give it a try! Definitely my next one. But, oh boy, I know I'll fail, lol.
