What I like about your approach Karen is that nothing is rushed - you don't have to get things done before the paper dries.
Thank you so much 😀
Karen, you’re by far one of the best in my book.
Thank you so much!
I fell in love with the violet in the background; it gives the whole painting that dreamy effect that I adore!
Thank you so much Tamsin, I am delighted that you think so!! 😀
Absolutely gorgeous Karen! Love watching you paint! I love that when you list the colors of paint you are using ....you always mention what you can use as a substitute.
So pleased you like this tutorial and found the colour alternatives useful! 😊
Yeah it doesn't look exactly like the photograph. Guess what, it looks prettier! Love the dramatic look on it! 🌊

I love the freedom in which Karen paints. Wonderful misture of values and contrast!!
This is what I love about watercolour - it’s delicate and ethereal, and you have captured it beautifully. Thank you! My style tends towards realism, you’ve inspired me to try ‘loose’.
Wonderful Angela... I hope you give this style a try!

Thank you 😊 - and yes I do.

Excellent andmind blowing the detail is unreal PJ Tassie
Lovely! 👌
Thank you! 😊
Being new to watercolours I never knew about the white wax crayon. It looks so much easier than masking fluid as you can use your natural technique when applying it instead of being so deliberately controlling with fluid. I cannot wait to try this.
It is very freeing to use wax, far less control than masking fluid, but for this style of painting ... perfect! I hope you have fun using it Glynda 😀
@@KarenRiceArt Is this a two-part tutorial? I can't see where, on this video, you applied the wax resist crayon. Thanks again for your inspiration.
Love it! And thank you for your encouragement.
You are so welcome 😊
This is BEAUTIFUL! I’m going to give this technique a go! So well done!👏👏👏❤️
Thank you! I hope you enjoy painting this one
I really like this one Karen. Also, this time, because the paper caught the light source I realised just HOW wet your paper was! The page was not just wet but flooded. This is important I think, as it’s not always clear just how wet the paper needs to be to get those lovely runny effects. Lesson learned. Thank you Karen.
Thanks so much Barbara! So pleased you like this tutorial and found it helpful... especially in regards to how wet the paper was... I will try to discuss this in more depth in future. Thanks so much for pointing it out 😀
Just a wonderful technic
Thank you 😊
