My friend had all her furniture made to her own specifications then flown to the UK It's absolutely beautiful and the quality is superb....it will be around long after people are gone ...that's quality for you.
This is the best video of Indian slum life I’ve ever watched. I love how the camera shots wind through the lanes, like the viewer is walking in the slum himself. It is nice to see all of the various industries, too. All of those different little industries help keep the population of Mumbai afloat. Great video!
I have a dream to redevelop dharavi and make it the most green and beautiful place on Earth. I think many NRIs have to come out of their shells and take up the real challenge of transforming Indian streets.
The worst thing is that they grow and they don't have any possibility to improve themselves and go out of that bad living condition. And this is valid for all the world slums.....
In what condition? The people are happy, are working, and have expansive social networks of generous friendly people. The living conditions just look shocking to us. Some things need to be improved sure but they are not like starving sad kids
I enjoyed watching your video, loved all of them and especially this one. After Watching it, I will start to see thing in different perspective and appreciate more and no more complaints for me about. 🙏
finally you realize ! that your life is better, all your desires are fulfilled without any effort! so enjoy your life and always be grateful for all the gifts of God to your family! I want to ask if you want to live and live in a dirty area that smells full of dust and without money in the sense of very little income and struggles to work in the hot sun by collecting wreckage? do you want to live like that?
I watch the entire video I was fascinated by their way of life… That guy’s apartment was absolutely beautiful... I wonder how many other apartments look like that In the inside?? And how do they keep their floor so clean LOL
Maharastra Government needs hundreds of Industrial Estates for accommodate such beautiful people's Industries on better place. it needs series of projects with lot of facilities
LMAO on how the guy explained the Skywalk bridge and why it's empty, he does makes sense! Interesting fact in the wood industry is Muslim people making shrines for Hindus!
What about a Fire Hazard? I mean, it would be horrific if a fire got started and grew so large that it could wipe out the entire slum! I imagine that there are no Fire Engines and zero Insurance.
*Most Indians like the slums because it's a Cheap Place to Live, always some kind of Job available & it's in there comfort zone. Am I correct thinking this ?? They appear to be Happy & that's Important in every day Life :)*
That walking bridge that no one uses is a good example of government development imposed on people which does not help them and is not wanted. Dharavi needs to be improved yes with some public infrastructure but with intense community input to support the community not top down planning imposed on people.
People love to turn Dharavi into a sob story. Yet, the people living there are opposing new development. It would just be a way for landlords to make money.
John 14:1 Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me. John 14:2 In my Father's house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. John 14:3 And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also. John 14:4 And whither I go ye know, and the way ye know. John 14:5 Thomas saith unto him, Lord, we know not whither thou goest; and how can we know the way?
The video host is very clear thank goodness cause the guide is almost impossible to understand which is a bit of a waste cause clearly he is knowledgable and wants to share the information but OMG trying to listen to the tour guide is so frustrating...all of a sudden can't understand big chunks of what he is saying. Curious the damaging effects of people working with the loud and otherwise dangerous conditions. What happens when they get older? They die often, young and/or cared for by others when they cannot work any more? Does it smell there? The guide only focused on positives and has been featured in another UA-cam video. He is sooooo hard to understand. Ok actually they talk later about the ruined river and the stench. Slow down when you talk dude! Such important information and wasted when he speaks so fast and I'm good at understanding accents. He keeps saying it is the residents that oppose safety gear and better development but if they were offered true and good version of either they would take it...they are human beings after all.
Dear God/s can't our species do better than this? We act like complicated rats.... so sad. Most people wouldn't do those jobs....they shouldn't have to. Don't be proud ....machines should do that. "Amazed" sure and sad as hell.
John 19:6-7, 11-14 When the chief priests therefore and officers saw him, they cried out, saying, Crucify him, crucify him. Pilate saith unto them, Take ye him, and crucify him: for I find no fault in him. The Jews answered him, We have a law, and by our law he ought to die, because he made himself the Son of God. Jesus answered, Thou couldest have no power at all against me, except it were given thee from above: therefore he that delivered me unto thee hath the greater sin. And from thenceforth Pilate sought to release him: but the Jews cried out, saying, If thou let this man go, thou art not Caesar's friend: whosoever maketh himself a king speaketh against Caesar. When Pilate therefore heard that saying, he brought Jesus forth, and sat down in the judgment seat in a place that is called the Pavement, but in the Hebrew, Gabbatha. And it was the preparation of the passover, and about the sixth hour: and he saith unto the Jews, Behold your King! play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=bible.kingjamesbiblelite
goodness gracious me sub please slow down, three tour guides doing a tour within a tour this is doing my head in, please dont narate on your tour while doing someone eleses tour.
not a pleasant tour, yes, they need to continue to thrive! you would think with that much manpower they would clean it up somehow to make greater use of the area, first they need to start with that canal, that's going to cause problems in the future. Mohameed, needs to to take after you, slow down, that guy talks like he's in 78 rpm! did you find any Desi Daru?
We should Stop migrant workers coming from up bihar UP and west bengal and bangladesh by giving employment in their home states. Even bangalore is spoilt because of their cheap Labour.

Excellent commentary from the man explaining all the businesses his knowledge and his English are impressive!
God bless all this little kids my heart breaks to see them in this condition ....
The worst thing is that they grow and they don't have any possibility to improve themselves and go out of that bad living condition. And this is valid for all the world slums.....
i bet you they experience more fruitful things in life than our kids in the west
In what condition? The people are happy, are working, and have expansive social networks of generous friendly people. The living conditions just look shocking to us. Some things need to be improved sure but they are not like starving sad kids
I love seeing how other people live. I don't travel a lot so this helps.
Same here!
The slum people are so legit. They are not about to sell out for a pipe dream.

@15.32 You nearly burnt your hair thinking you were holding a mic. But nice to know amazing industries in Dharavi.
The slum labyrinth reminds me of Hong Kong's Kowloon Walled City. Another infamously over crowded dwelling for the poor. A place to hide them.
The energy and attitude are outstanding, too! TFS!

What about a Fire Hazard? I mean, it would be horrific if a fire got started and grew so large that it could wipe out the entire slum! I imagine that there are no Fire Engines and zero Insurance.
I would imagine there would be massive loss of life
Happy Thanksgiving everyone!!! 🦃🦃🦃🦃🦃
PS, those bags are totally cool, I'd buy one.
They work so Incredibly hard for a pitance and the conditions are so poor.
I feel for them 😪
Those Dharavi leather products looked amazing. Is there an easy way for me to purchase their product? Without getting lost walking in the maze lol
