I never met him in person but I talked to him for hours on the phone many times when he was on tour. I rewound the neck pickup on this guitar- you are hearing it. It took 2 or three times before he said YEAH! and thn I made a number of sets of them so he could take modern clones- that was a 1953 gold top I think so big $ to take on tour. He was so cool and down to earth, we would talk about traveling as a musician and the polotics of playing clubs and deep details. I think he was talking about this gig and how they wanted to charge the band 20 bucks for a drink. I never got any sense he that he was bipolar- he was just a really good guitar player and vocalist. I am so proud I got to be part of it- sean was amazing
Hey Jason, is there any way I could reach out to you and talk about those pickups and that experience. I’m a 21 year old blues/southern rock guitarist and love Sean’s music. I’d love to hear about that and talk p90s. Thank you so much.
If not, no worries!
All my guitars have Lollars. The only pickups that I found make my guitar sound like a voice. Thank you for helping me find the sound in my head.
Love your pickups - just got these 50s to put in my Casino and can't wait to hear/play it!
There are millions of things to learn from this guitarist, he plays in a totally unpredictable and beautiful way
possibly one of best blues guitarists to ever walk earth

I am sad to say I only discovered Sean Costello a few months ago. I wish I could have seen him play. He was a prodigy, no doubt. RIP
Such a great vibe and such a shame.. I would of loved to see Sean play live. What a talent and already was one of the masters of the guitar and vocals at such a young age.
+intheblues Thanks for putting me onto him Shane. Could listen to this all day. Awesome.
I discovered this precious jem few weeks ago, by hearing from you on youtube. This amazing musician blown me away, and is one of my favourites now. Thank you, Shane!

Listen here... trust in me, in all you do..yeah. peace please
Some how Sean Costello always appears in my life when I need a good uplifting. He never fails!!! His songs and his versions of other peoples songs are always so full of heart and soul. Thank you Sean and RIP
Discovered Sean a while ago and I listen the songs over and over again, it is the right mix between blues soul and R&B. It is strange though, everytime I listen to his music I can feel his pain... Straight from the heart , one love for this artist.
He was unbelievable. So lucky to have met him. He was just on fire with talent. RIP
Yes never gets old is right such a talent he was still my fave of all time miss as much as Stevie Ray and Jimmy Hendrix long live the music RIP brother thanks for this post man
Here it is, late 2022 and I am just listening to him for the first time. Wow, I am floored by him. He reminds me of the late Peter Green circa 1967-69 where his sense of timing, tone, dynamics, and phrasing are all just so right. I heard him on a local radio station this morning. I was saddened to find when I looked him up so I could see him in person and he has been gone for 14 years. So sad. I plan on exploring his music.
Thank you thank you thank you for sharing. This is my first ever listen to Sean Costello. Never even heard his name mentioned before. 🙏
I will listen to Sean Costello's music for the rest of my life........I never met him but I miss him and his talent!!!!!!!!! God Bless!!!!!!!!
Wow, just discovered. He is so true. There something raw and unpolished. I am hooked!
Good God.
When I see people like Sean doing what they do with such emotion it makes me question what the hell I'm doing with my life :(
Has it changed? What are you doing nowadays? Cheers buddy
Goosebumps and tears... of sadness and pure joy. Thanks for the posting.
Just discovered this amazing performer. Soul music. What a shame to find he went so early.
Soo good! He and I lived in the same neighborhood when we were teenagers. I never met him. I wasn’t that cool. But my other neighborhood friends knew him. I heard he was always a nice guy and hell of a player.
@@samharrell312Ah thanks for your insight! Sean never tried to be cool! This set is all you need to get by!
I wish they would release this as a live album!
Want to Thank Anthony for turning me on to Sean. Amazing performer. I some how missed and I wish I could of seen him during one of his live performances. Thanks Anthony for all you do and give.
I am blessed to have seen him at the Northside tavern probably a half dozen times or so. He was so humble, very quiet and respectful. On stage he just owned. Grateful to have seen him and these clips exist. God Bless.
Gone too soon...One of the true greats!
This guy is up there with the greats...because, he is great!
He was real brilliant and we keep it alive his music,
You are my previous friend. I miss you too my heart and beyond. I wanna sit on my couch again n sing somewhere over the rainbow, and amazing grace. Tell my Donnie Mac n most of all my beloved son Steffen... I'm on my way ya'll. I love you so, you precious kickass dude friend. Yours always
Hab mich wirklich gefreut, das jetzt hier zu finden und zu hören. Fast eine Stunde Sean Costello. Gehts noch besser? I will say thank you for this video, dear anthony. Juni.
Always fun to watch a true talent that enjoys what he is doing. So many guitarists out there that just play but with no emotion. It is so evident that he was having fun just playing. The audience was obviously small in some small venue who were watching something special and didn’t know it at the time.
I keep coming back to this concert. Thank you for the upload ❤️
WOW!!! Undeniable genius. Sings from the depths of his soul. And beautiful guitar tone. Gnarly blues!! Sure do miss him.
What a fantastic musician. RIP.
can hear that p90 hum right from the start ;)
thanks for uploading this show, I'm just discovering Sean's work
best white boy blues ever for my money
Got to play with Sean years ago in Atlanta and got to spend some time with that Gold Top. To this day, I love those wrap around, p90, early 50's Gold Tops because of this guitar. Such a shame we lost him at such a young age! Stay away from drugs kids!
Loved Sean - I met him in Memphis and was blown away by his talent
25:08 onwards = heaven! : )
He sounds just like what I wish Jonny Lang was today. Nice. Too bad he's gone. Never heard of him before Joe Bonamassa mentioned him in a podcast I heard today.
class
happy birthday, sean❤️
Such a natural performer and what a great guitarist - not many people can play blazing guitar and sing like sean
Absolutely brilliant. Such a bright young talent.
Thanks Anthony! This never gets old. Best Sean Costello footage out there!
I got the pleasure to see him play at the springing the blues in Jacksonville Beach Fl
Yes yes yes thank u so much for this anthony there is only one thing i cud love more than the other video of the full set and its another full set of sean, thanks again man!!
ABSOLUTELY FANTASTIC!!!
I can't thank you enough for continuing to provide folks with these amazing shows Sean did in NY. Always a pleasure. Take care, T
Thankyou for uploading this...
Can still not understand he's gone - Every concert with Sean was something special!!!
Amazing!!!!
One of the best of the best! Damn I sure miss just being able to hit a local place and seeing his raw unmatched talent, seemingly channeled from the great beyond of those before. One of the only things I liked about living in greater ATL. People don't be cruel... This man was an amazing person. No one can say or judge anyone's feelings heartbreak or struggles. Watching him should tell you he was so much more and should never be reduced to how he died. How he lived gifting us with his soul says everything. Sensitive folks have a hard time living in an unauthentic, unkind world.. He was so kind, approachable and humble... Man I miss him!! Godspeed Sean 💫🌟✨💖👼😇
And great quality recording! Thank you for that!
Echo the thanks for uploading this...
Simple Twist of Fate! 20min approx Oh My Sweet Lord
Thanks for uploading this, wish you'd upload all you have of him ;)
So Good! Thanks
Qué grande! Thanx for the music Sean.
Pure Awesomeness! Wish he stayed off the drugs :(
great
thanks for a great post
Thanks for uploading this
Fantastic - Thanks for the share - Made my day :-)
wow
Muy bueno. Sin artificios. Buena voz y buen guitarrista. Feliz descubrimiento de un amigo
killer talent...sigh, another discovered 'after the fact'. thanks for the reference Shane (intheblues)!
Bobby Womack-check it out
Blues at 25:25
SDPickups, that amp looks too wide to be a Blues Jr., it's more likely a Hot Rod Deluxe, a 40 watt amp, vs. the 15 watt one in the Blues Jr..
Ratings disabled? What, are they afraid we'll like it too much?
Anyone know what amp he was playing at this gig? I'm using this video as a reference for a P90 set I'm working on, I think I saw a Blues Junior in the back but hard to say. I know he had a Magnatone also.....contact me if anyone knows for sure...
It's interesting because there are so many (notable) people that try this and they just don't hit the spot like he does, and on paper they do and act exactly the same. Pretty strange, could all be in my head though and my personal preference.
HOW;D THIS KID PASS AWAY?
What is the song he plays by Bobby Womack?
