- Net Neutrality Action: act.freepress.n...
Net Neutrality is an extremely important issue that I think will be the most important decision of the next few decades. Net Neutrality explained simply is that your ISP cannot restrict or redirect content. It must provide you free and open access to any website you want. However, that is not the most profitable way to run an ISP so the want the rules changed. In a few days the FCC will vote to decide whether or not to allow companies to restrict data or not. I think the implications here are massive for freedom of speech, information, press, assembly, research, and almost every important aspect of our modern lives. So today, I want to explain Net Neutrality as simply as possible, and hopefully spur some of you to take action. Hopefully 2017 will be the year we make Net Neutrality permanent.

Most of us are too young to know anything about the Al Gore deal with ISPs and schools didn’t teach us. Please for the love of god make that video. Please.
Bretton Ledbetter I agree on this one! Videos like this one make it so much easier to spread the word Too!
Yes!
I agree, even though I knew about it. There are details that should be shared
Bretton Ledbetter Thank you for commenting this, you literally deserve a plaque or something for this comment bro, drifter make this video.
Bretton Ledbetter The G in God is capital....
I feel useless over in the EU, not much I can do to help other than make others aware of this bullshittery...
Stephen Ward It sucks for everyone because it will hit everyone in the long run if the EU or US did it. Witch the us did. Witch is worse because it even bigger.
Same here.
A simple solution to your problem is sharing videos like this. Like them, share them, show them to your friends, no matter where they live. Possibly, this will not stay a topic tied simply to America, it is absolutely possible that soon it will be considered all over the world. Then, you can help even more but for now, you have to prevent this very thing from happening by spreading the information.
not long left in the EU haha
R&N RailProductions This has nothing to do with the video.
It's not talked about enough
i seen it everywhere how its not enough ?
mario soto it is among the people, but the corrupt government of the US don't care...
јебем ко гледа do you remember AOL, Pepperidge farm remember.
If EA was an internet service provider...

Funniest comment I've seen in a while
Get an hour of internet in the EPIC LOOT BOX.
Then you would feel pride and aconplishment when you pay to use certain sites.
LMAO!!! 😂😂😂
the ignorance in some people is just saddening. net neutrality is incredibly important it keeps our freedom on the net. internet is much more important now than ever before and greedy assholes in fcc are taking over.
JSayelBaldomero the fact is if Net Neutrality became inexistent for America, it would set them back even farther than it already is being right now
The ignorance is with the ones supporting net neutrality. It's only been around for two years. Don't let yourself be manipulated into promoting socialism. Liberty means to be able to do with your life as you please without fear of retaliation. How does being told how to spend your money because of corporate monopolies upheld by the state sound like liberty? Know how capitalism works? You speak with your wallet. If you don't like a product or service, you seek out a competitor, forcing the former company to adapt to keep up. Simple. Lowering the bar helps the corporations, and hurts us, the consumer, by limiting our options to lesser quality standards.
did you not listen to what driftor specifically explained about not even being able to pay with your wallet because there are to many areas where there is only ONE option, so no competitor and even then it would be between two shitty options, so your whole idea of seeking out competitors is just not possible. Your tricking yourself into thinking pure capitalism is the best option and giving freedom to companies who can oppress is just morally wrong and if a company is in the face of money greed will win if it is not regulated by any standard
sydroblade that’s debatable. Companies have to take into account their customers wants and needs because, in fact, if there are no consumers there is no business. Now theoretically if there is a need for a product and someone with excess capital feels the need to fix it a new company is born. Now, if that problem is big enough and that new company has a good idea, those consumers will flock to it. Therefore the old, crappy business is either forced to change for the better or lower their prices. That looks like a win for the consumer and the small business. Just figured I’d give my two cents as to how, in theory, it might work.
sydroblade So, socialism is the answer, then, huh? Tell me, how has that worked out for humanity? The left keeps trying to promote it at every turn, cleverly disguising it under a different veil every time in hopes of duping enough suckers who want to be babysat by Uncle Sam. I don't know about you, but I don't like feeling controlled or manipulated. Want to know how to destroy the regional monopolies? Get rid of the regulatory utility designation. Meaning, tell the Feds to leave the internet the hell alone. Let the companies fight over our business. This idea that the market will turn into a wild west of greed is a fear-mongering delusion. People are already getting ripped off even under net neutrality. So, let them do whatever they want, and let us all police them ourselves with our wallets. If they start losing money, they change their practices. Why the obsession with a higher power? Governments aren't inherently benevolent. They're imperfect, and prone to the same corruption as any other collective.
How are people defending this? How can you not understand that the companies are going to take advantage of you.
Let them. I will cancel my internet and they won't receive my money. If enough people stop paying for it the company will be forced to change the pricing or they will go down in flames.
Tony Corral you are going to give up the internet? I'll believe it when I see it.
〈〈〈 FINAL BOSS 〉〉〉 I will 100% give up i got nothing to really force me to use internet if this happens its why I stoped paying for cable
Littleshredder58 because 70% of voters in the US live in the middle of nowhere and have no idea what the “internet” is
Tony Corral except that won't happen because not enough people will stop paying for internet. It's just like microtransactions in our games. it sounds so shitty that you'd think everyone would speak with their wallets and boycott the games, but as we've seen that doesn't happen.
Wouldn't it be a great idea to make businesses pay a fee and if they refuse, we can set the speed limit on their street to single digits. That sounds great.
PaleGhost69 cha-ching
Do you have evidence of systemic repeated times this has happened before 2015? I doubt it.
Thank you for giving me an easy analogy to explain Net Neutrality to people 🙏🏻
MikeSG87 Thank you. You have no idea how many people don't get that this is an analogy
GreyWolfLeaderTW No one does because it didn't happen.
So let's say, hypothetically, that scientists have discovered that it is more healthy to butt chug alcohol than to drink it by mouth. You go to a liquor store and buy a handle of whisky for $25. Now you want to drink it, but as you raise the bottle to your lips, the store owner says, "Hold up there, son. If you want to drink that whisky by mouth, you're gonna have to pay a $5 fee."
"That's ridiculous," you say. "I already purchased your product, what I do with it now is completely up to me."
"Actually, it's not. Thanks to the government removing an unnecessary regulation on businesses, I can now regulate exactly how you use my product. If you don't feel comfortable butt chugging, then you'll have to pay a fee."
This is what the FCC is doing to our Internet.
Flawed argument.
First off, the motion of your hand to your lips doesn't require an expense at someone else's cost.
Accessing someone else's data network is like buying another book from a bookstore.
GreyWolfLeaderTW tfw you already paid for it
Hahahahaha. The ironic thing is that the surgeon general is the only one telling you how to consume your booze on every. single. bottle.
+GreyWolfLeaderTW *You already paid for the product.*
Actually, Michael, you're not far off, the difference being now you have the option to pay to drink by mouth. With net neutrality, everyone was forced to butt-chug.
PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT
This isn’t about politics people. Please people don’t divide this into Conservative/Liberal when it’s literally everyone’s problem. I don’t know if Trump has a say in this since their is a thing called Checks and Balances. So I guess we will see what happens.
The FCC is an Executive branch bureau. He has sole authority over what the FCC does to execute the law.
There*
Trump appointed the fcc chairman so yes this bullshit is his fault. The dude is ex verizon executive so like Trump and all the other dipshits hes appointed at top offices theyre trying to profit on us the people.
Trey 3 wow, something i can actually complain about trump XD
I LIKE Butts if you pay attention, many of his policies are terrible.
We're running out of time guys. I think we all know the answer.
*loads scoped Mosin Nagant coldly*
*sovietly
Dude, if losing Net Neutrality is enough to make you go innawoods, you should probably go see a therapist.
Calvin_Coolage seriously. Actually typing about holding an old firearm in a threatening manner shows op needs some help.
Calvin_Coolage idk man net neutrality is basically as important as things like freedom of speech in my eyes personally.
Dennis Pietrandrea I understand that, but this really isn't something worth going innawoods over.
*The only thing I think we can all agree on.*
[something clever] Except, I don’t agree.
Net Neutrality is highly needed for the current time, there are currently already companies blocking information about net neutrality. I've heard verizon is doing it on some websites they own.
Zero fire Pro Net Neutrality topics on Tumblr are getting censored.
I couldn't remember exactly where it was, but yea people are getting unsubbed from the net neutrality tag if my memory is correct?
Zero fire Yeah, and I believe posts are actually getting deleted. Don't quote me on that though
That sounds very fake honestly. Anyone can post something then delete the post and claim that they were censored. There's no way to verify any of it and makes no logical sense from the standpoint of an ISP while serving as a great tool to get more support. Since when has cencership of something in the US had a positive result for a corporation. Beyond that, even if it was removed from that social network it is perfectly legal. Facebook and Twitter do the same thing every day. They are private companies. Go post on another social network. There is no rational way to try to claim that they are violating your constitutional right to free speech.
Dave McClintock yup, basically
Let me get this straight. These multi billion dollar companies are mad because they could be making more money? This sounds like Apple but on a much more horrible scale
Devon Gee yep, greed literally has no end. You would think if you had millions and millions of dollars you'd be happy to live your life, but no, these people have to have more more more and more. It's sad.
welcome to any buisness. If it isnt ALL THE MONEY, then they arent interested. Some of the money isnt good enough
it's sad as well as scary as hell, because they're trying to get even more money off our back : their greed affects us directly and negatively
Devon Gee all businesses consider a year failed if they dont profit more money than they did the year before. Thats what corprate greed is.
yo, Polish boy here - hope you guys keep your neutrality up. although it's not hitting me yet, it may hit us in the long run.
kordyan I hope EU keeps it if this situation goes through.....
Gigi Pianuz97 if this goes through then it's just gonna spread tbh so we all better pray to God we keep net neutrality
+bissanick +kordyan +Gigi Pianuz97 +That's TUFF yooooo, you might want to take a look at this: epicenter.works/content/how-we-saved-the-internet-in-europe
TL;DR The EU has a very strong law in favour of net neutrality. As hard as it was to make it a law, as hard as it will be to repeal it.
Daniel Koole let’s hope it stays as it is
It will definitely effect you if you use any services that come from America.
Thanks for the report Drift0r. I am confident that we the people will stop these kinds of chains from ever being locked into place.
Patrick Estwick i surely hope so.
Money....the root of all evil.
I'm a republican, and I am totally against this corporate bullshit. This is not a partisan issue, it's all of us. Something we can/should all be on the same team about. Make your voice heard
Brad Sauther it's really sad that you need to say that you're a Republican and that you support this, just to make a point.
This isn't anything against you, I want to make that clear, it's just that American politics these days are so hostile that there's an us vs them mentality for political parties (either support EVERYTHING Republicans do and criticize EVERYTHING Democrats do, or vice versa).
This really is a non partisan issue, and it's a no brainer, it really shouldn't have gotten this far but a lot of our "representatives" have already been bought out.
You're right, but that's what it's come too these days. It's sad but needed. Like I said it's an issue we should ALL be behind
Brad Sauther Yep. It baffles me how anyone besides the heads of large ISPs could possibly oppose net neutrality.
I appreciate your knowledge and your intelligence that you utilize in your videos. You can articulate things clearly and accurately and I can tell that you put much time and effort into your videos.
Can the Supreme Court take this and say
“Hey, this isn’t constitutional and we can’t allow you to take away American’s Civil Liberties and Rights.” and block whatever comes down the pipe? It would take legislation from the FCC first but could it be possible?
We MUST secure Net Neutrality. It’s that simple.
NightcoreFantasy While the Supreme Court does have the power of Judicial Review over regulatory agencies like the FCC you cant sue to have a regulation in place. You can only sue if the regulation is unconstitutional. I am going to use a proverbial sports analogy. Its like in the NFL and a player commits an infraction but isn’t seen by an official. You cant throw red challenge flag to have an penalty called on that player. You can only challenge the infractions that are called on. Also the FCC cant pass legislation it is a member of the Executive Branch of government. Only The Congress has the ability to pass new legislation.
I called, everyone go call it only takes a few minutes!
Ah yes classic human greed.
Man I love life.
thank you for doing a video on this and making people more aware, it's important that people know about this problem.
Drifter is an amazing UA-camr period
Zupreme 1k full stop*
Exotic DeathTag what?
Zupreme 1k full stop* not “period”
Zupreme 1k one of the most honest and well researched for his topics. I agree with ya 100.
Haven't played any of the games he covers since MW3. Still subbed.
Great video, mad props for making it Drift0r,as an italian sociology student i can tell you that especially given how issues are currently framed by the economical and political elites these companies will whatever they can to ramp up their profits without any regards for anything else.
And say goodbye to Netflix, the companies will completely block it.
Driftor I have to say, in all my years, I've subbed to so many channels and then unsubbed because of how they change their content and what they talk about, I subbed to you because of cod years ago, and I have to say, I'm soooo happy I did. You make such good content bro, I sincerely thank you man. Even when it's not what I subbed for it's more than that. Honestly one of the most reasonable and intelligent channels I've subbed to. Thank you driftor.
I called my congressman!!
Good for you! Thanks for helping the cause!
Driftor, thanks for making this video. I have been watching your videos for years for most of your in depth videos. I am giving a presentation over Net Neutrality. This has helped me understand the topic way better. Thank you for reporting on this.
Why do the call the US the land of the free, is this just Americans not understanding irony?
Jonathan Gater Americans understand the meaning and are against ending net neutrality, that Arab Boi is the one who wants this and he won't acknowledge the counterarguments of the people
Freedom means if I am an ISP, I get to offer business to anyone I want at the terms me and my customer desire, not what some third party arbitrarily decides is "fair".
GreyWolfLeaderTW only thing being the customer doesn’t have anything to say in what you and the customer desire... ironic, isn’t it?
That's why we're all against getting rid of it.
Jonathan Gater it's so true too.
Driftor, this is why I subscribe to you my man. I have been having a difficult time getting a good, well thought out, and honest explanation of what the hell is going on with this situation. Thank you for educating me along with many others. Great work sir.
I’m worried that no matter we do, this Ajih Pai guy will just ignore feedback and doesn’t care... PLEASE SUPPORT NET NEUTRALITY, but I’m worried that no matter what we do, it will be ineffective...
Hey Drift i just wanted to let you know I love these longer informational discussions. Up there with some of my favorite content to watch on this whole website. Keep up the great work.
It sucks because we can't even vote on Fcc members
the country does when they vote for the President and everybody else the President picks in prominent position.
I appreciate the amount of effort you must have put in for this video. Really well summed up Drift0r, thanks
That girl at 0:46 looks at the buttons on the controller, what a disgrace
Drift I been watching you for over 4 years man. You’re one of my favorite youtubers always able to have a great information vid weather it’s about cod or real world problems much respect
If america gets rid of net neutrality I am worried about the rest of the world. I know portugal and I believe south korea are two countries that don't have it and honestly its a scary thing to look at for the future of the internet and the world...
Toxic Chillz we have net neutrality in portugal. Whats shown in the video are mobile apps plans. If you pay a fee, you can use certain apps for "free" (without data usage). In other words, its a way that ISP's found to cheat the EU strict laws about net neutrality.
either way its still a scary thing to see
Toxic Chillz i agree, i hope that doesnt change...
im really glad drift0r made a video on this topic
I'm writing a paper on Net Neutrality for one of my classes. Definitely going to talk about some of the stuff you did. Thanks!
Thank you Driftor, not a lot of people are talking about this issue. It needs more awareness and a smart guy like you joining the fight can help us fight these corporate shills
Actually, he was first brought into his office under Obama on May 14, 2012
Furthermore, Obama appointed him to the office
Xer0 who cares?
TheGreatCs3 I’m just not much of a fan of blaming trump for everything
Xer0 well it’s not all his fault just partially I mean Obama put him on yea but trump made him chairman
Xer0 like let’s be honest NN shouldn’t even be up for a repeal we all know corporations can’t be trusted
This may be the mos important video you have ever created and posted. And you have posted many great videos that have helped me grow as a person and also better understand those around me. THANK YOU>
With these news, the Switch and all of its single player experiences(offline) sound much more attractive now than they ever did.
WatCH _DoGes man....is that the first thing that came to your mind?
WatCH _DoGes stfu
I love it when you make videos like this. Please keep doing this
I appreciate that he has the moral fortitude to not call him President Trump, considering that he's President in title only, and everything else about him is easily condemned.
i love how liberals cant even say his name lol
usernameiphone3gkid I can say his name. I just did. Doesn't make it any less sickening or unbelievable.
Thank you for making this and I hope more UA-camrs make videos about this
Basically: Welcome to the internet... with micro-transactions
"... deciding if we should allow net neutrality or not..."
I don't recall the study, but one concluded more or less that if 90% of the American people are in favor of a USA policy, rule or law alone there's only a 10% or less chance of it becoming a real statute. If the top 10% or maybe even the 1%, the political donor class want something to be a law it has over a 50% chance of happening. Moreover, public opinion doesn't matter, just money when it comes to Republicans and Democrats.
You will never see a net neutrality initiative to vote for on a ballot because that would be to convenient for our dysfunctional local or federal governments to allow. A lot of these props in California either have lawyers or corporations benefiting from their passing at the end of the day, hardly ever the public good alone.
Im new in this topic
But if I’m getting it right
We might have to pay for watching tv and playing games after you buy it? Edit: Guys thanks alot for the helping with the topic and THANKS FOR THE LIKES AND MAKING THIS A TOP COMMENT!!
XxxExtremeGamerxxX IsCool yep
XxxExtremeGamerxxX IsCool kinda you would have to pay to go on Facebook and different websites
You would pay to watch any TV on a network channel or internet video streaming service and not a personal DVD player.
You also already pay for a game after you buy it if it is an online one. When you pay for your internet access every month, you are paying so you can play online video games.
Bsically here is your break down:
Basic Internet: 30$
Social Media: 15$
Gaming data: 10$
UA-cam/other video services: 25$
Total cost for your monthly internet use: 80$
And thats with shitty 3 Mbs up and 1 down, as that is what AT&T provide in my area for that base price.
Then EA and your ISP partner up and if you play a non-EA game, your speed gets throttled down to make the game unplayable.
Thank you Driftor for the information that you have provided me with, I love these educational videos and I hope to see you make more of them in the future
i have said it before and i'll say it again. 'murica.
Ruubje yes...cause we're the ONLY country in the entire world with ANY issues whatsoever. Stfu.
He never said other countries dont have problems. Every country has many problems but currently America has alot more really bad problems than most FIRST world countires. Honestly if i could live anywhere in the world it would be the netherlands or canada. Two of the few countries that are better than america in ALMOST every way.
Super informative. Using this for debate on the topic. Thanks Driftor!
Well i'm glad I live in Europe
ILoveJesus123 it'll bleed out and make other countries feel obligated to do the same.
Better Starr checking your bank account salary.
ILoveJesus123 lol keep pretending it won't impact you
Actually this won't effect us, beside the sites like UA-cam that we visit. In the EU we got laws that protect us from these things.
With all of the negatives coming from this you need to mention one of the biggest: EDUCATION. The internet is a place to learn from, like you said you can look up anything you need to know whenever you want. This limits our ability to write articles, essays, research problems, and essentially go to a modern day school. What college today doesn't use an online aid like canvas? There are none. I enjoy being able to learn new things while studying for my degree. Researching new topics broadening my ability to become an educated person. The end of net neutrality means the suppression of higher level education. I don't have to go any further than that. You should all know how important high education is.
The Portugal internet plans is for mobile internet. They have regular internet there. The apps shown gets free data usage.
bingvarstand47 This
Its a way to 'cheat' EU laws about net neutrality. They cant do those types of plans on cable internet, and so they do it on apps where they give you "free" access to certain apps, has long has you pay a monthly fee.. the scary thing is that MEO (the ISP shown in the video) is not the only one doing it...
why is that scary? You were alrealdy paying a monthly fee without the free apps.. It's much better now
No, i was paying a monthly fee for mobile data that i can use wherever i want. In those apps or not. In the future (if net neutrality goes away), i have to pay to access those apps even if i use them alot or less. now you can still access them even without the plans so its still fine, but if that changes...Thats what is scary
Yes, but as of now you pay your monthly fee and have x amount of mobile data that you can use wherever you want plus the free mobile data apps they give you. That's a fair deal. What you are talking is in deed scary, but can only happen if we don't have net neutrality. This situation was portraited by driftor as if it was already happening.
Finally someone makes sense of what net neutrality is about! Great information...stay awesome drift0r! Please keep these type of videos with informative topics coming.
I live in Portugal and we do have net neutrality
ShadySurf 1 unfortunately, all of this can easily spread to Europe and the rest of the world
We have net neutrality because of EU rules.. and so the ISP's cheat those rules by doing these data plans where, if you pay a fee, you have 'free' access to that app (no data usage)
Damn man i was very unaware of this and this just shed a whole new light on this. Thanks for doing so in a very academic manner as well man i respect your demeanor very much
Ajit Pai Just ignored the majority of the American vote
Appeal to the Majority Fallacy.
Everyone wants free stuff, that doesn't mean they have the right to take or use other people's property without voluntary agreement and compensation.
GreyWolfLeaderTW
hahahahahahahahaha Stay out of philosophy ha ha
Wow. I work for one of the big ISPs and couldn’t agree more with you. I have been hearing about this for years now and no one cared but now that the vote is days away it’s everywhere. Lets hope its not to late.
I wonder who the 1 dislike is 🤔🤔🤔
masteronesolo A specter, Comcast, or Cox employee. 😂🤣
masteronesolo sajid
masteronesolo satick prynce
Real people. There are 3 top comments saying Net Neutrality is bad. They're idiots. Idiots are disliking this video. Idiots, who don't like to learn, and are naive, fools, disliked this video.
Ajit Pai
Great video,thanks a bunch Drift0r.
Rise of the internet dictatorship
It Turns out Driftor, that we share more views then one. I was with you, and commented on your video about why our Second Amendment Exists, and I also Strongly Support Net Neutrality. I hope this video was able to reach some people, and help them take 5 Minutes out of their day to call Their Senator And Congressman. You are completely right that this is one of the most important issues of our time, and has the ability to shape the next 5 years and beyond. Thank You for continuing to make such awesome and important videos!
It's all good cuz Dec 15th is day the last Jedi is releasing all we gotta do is use the force and we could stop him
This was a really shitty " joke"
Thanks, Cool guy 😕
Thank you for this video Drift0r
Yes
Well driftor if in 10 years from I can no longer watch your videos just know you were my favorite youtuber
We didn't have Net Neutrality laws until 2015. Yet the internet was freer back then than the censorship and ad driven hellhole we have today.
(Although I think part of the censorship and ad nonsense has to do with propaganda being legalised in 2012)
Yeah people seem to forget what life was like before 2015
2A42, net neutrality wasn't the law of the land, but had variously enforced principles for over a decade. When AT&T, throttled competitor websites, the FCC fined and stopped this practice. In 2007, Comcast throttled P2P servers until the FCC made them stop.
Regulations are generally imposed when businesses start doing things that are harmful to the consumer. For example, we didn't have regulations for meat packing until rat burgers became a problem.
FCC agent in disguise. Go off yourself.
I've been using ad blockers for about a decade now. Where have you been?
Net neutrality has been in the works for a while. ISP tried to play nice for a while till this blew over but there was plenty of instances that can be cited in which ISP abused their power.
GREAT VIDEO Drift0r. Thanks!
Alright, moving to Australia.
Oni it'll follow you there.
i know, its sad
Won't help.
thank u driftor i seriously didnt understand this cause i dont live in the us but this can affect me cause most of my accounts for everything are based in the us
This is just the US right?
Jack Waters if this goes through, it can bleed out and make other countries feel obligated to do so
For now.
no
Yes, but as you know what usually is allowed to happen in the US eventually happens everywhere else. Its a ripple effect.
memnarch129 one refute 'GUN LAWS' but yes it CAN bleed. But it's not definite because not every country has an idiot called trump managing it.
Drift I always appreciate your standpoint on things. Anywhere from cod to net neutrality. I respect you as a person and you seem very intelligent. Thank you for making such an informative video despite the obvious emotions you have. Your feelings did not get in the way of a strong argument. I never really comment but I just wanted to say thanks for being you. Hopefully you see this and it drives you to keep up the respectable work you do
56th
I didn’t know that this was such a big issue, great video.
Yall just started talking bout this now really u should spoke bout it sooner
It has been discussed for years. That's why the FCC made net neutrality the law of the land in 2015, not just a guiding principle.
It's back in the news because the current administration is seeking to destroy it.
If activision ever became an internet provider, websites would only be available in supply drops...
Nah activison would make them available through supply drops or some form of armory credits. still bad but not as bad. now EA would make it supply drop EXCLUSIVE.
Well this is what happens when people vote republican.
John Smith no. This has been in the works for years or do you not know ANYTHING?
@ChickenTendyWendies And guess who's in support of bigger businesses and corporations over people's freedom... The man who chose a guy (Ajit Pai) in support of "business freedom" which limits every citizen's freedom.
ChickenTendyWendies I do somewhat agree with you. But, some of them are to blame, definitely not all though.
Trump voted the guy in so yes it is his fault too
Ahmad al-abdulmuhsen The people who are "in support of bigger businesses and corporations over people's freedom" is the left.
This is a real problem that Americans are almost Unanimously against. the fact that it hasn't already been taken care of in a way that truly sets the peoples' will in stone, boggles my mind.
I don’t want to government involved in the internet at all
You've literally made 5 comments saying the same thing my dude.
Satik Prynce Why not? Net neutrality is trying to help you dude.
dubposse thank u
How many times are you gonna comment here you wackjob
But you trust a monopoly, once unregulated, to not abuse its power? Monopolies have always needed regulation. Study some economics.
Thank you drift0r
ROFL.... overblown reaction.
MrMalditor no its not.
Yeah, it really is. But it's par for the course these days. Everyone panics and assumes the end of times.
Thank you for making this video this vote is terrifying me and people need to know about it!
It was an honor memeing with you all.
Thank you for this explanation.
Years later this evil was completely realized, I mean just posting this comment cost me 89 dollars to post!

That Zariya gameplay was godlike the whole team was on fire
I think the best part about Comcast saying they won't throttle or slow down speeds when they've already been caught doing that with Netflix
This is a beautiful video. So well put informative. Loved it
I swear driftors videos are like oral academic journals I love them
Very impressive, you actually knew what an aggregator is, it is interesting, to some, how we have transitioned from basic sonet transfer nodes and ATMs to MOEs, EOCs and of course aggregators. Technology has increased at a blazing pace. Remember less than 20 years ago it was all dial-up. Keep up the great commentary, spread the word.
What you said about the oligopolies... I️ used to live in a neighborhood in which my next door neighbor got Comcast for x amount a month, and I️ got ATT for y amount a month. And there was no choice, like you said. Even though we were next door neighbors, for whatever reason I️ was “out of Comcast’s range.” So I️ ended up having to pay more because of living one house down.
Translation : I don't comprehend basic economics and protectionism
To the other people like me with a small government ideology, I know it seems as though less government mingling = better. 98% of the time I agree with you. But this is a place it IS needed. ISPs buy out competition in precincts or areas to force people to use their service. This works completely against capitalism.
Definitely a very huge topic, it’s very important. Now of course I’m actually undecided, I don’t have a strong enough opinion one way or the other to pick a side. I understand both arguments, and I can’t fully be pro repeal because I don’t want information to be restricted or blocked. But I also am pro business and it’s understandable for a business to not want to basically support another service provider using their lines and servers to relay information. I really think that the issue is bigger than some people realize, but it’s also not AS huge as some people play it out to be
The solution that I see is to have the federal/state governments invest in running their servers and lines and mainframes all across the country like the railroad was (except lots of that was private business as well) or pay a private business to do the building and then access to the internet is controlled on a local town/county level. Then the town can be an ISP sorta like a town’s cable access, and then an ISP can pay a fee to open up their servers and connect them into that town and they can compete with the local service.
RIP the internet. I'm moving to Canada.
Great video. I'm not American but if this goes through I'm sure other countries would follow suit in no time. Very scary. I don't want to be talking to my grandkids one day about "the way the internet used to be" the good old glory days. That is a truly terrifying thought.
