It doesn't help that the same writers who work on the main games don't work on the Spinoffs as far as I know so the Spinoffs barely have an understanding of the characters to begin with.

The main reason for wanting persona 5 arena is getting adult designs for persona 4 characters. Like think police woman Chie, she could use police nightsticks like Tofnas. It would be epic.

Reasons why I want a Persona 5 fighting game:
1. New Voice Lines for everyone
2. All-out attacks as finishing moves would be neat
3. G U N S
In persona 4 arena AOAs are just a regular launch attack. Their finishing moves are usually something pertaining to their character like Narukami's myriad truths or ken and koromaru doing a hama/mudo combo since they have those skills in p3
@@Ray_Moses I'm thinking either something along the lines of Final Smash Meter for All-Out Attacks could be really fun or maybe something like a mk finisher, less gameplay based and more just cool visual flair.
@@Robin0928 it'd be weird to change an already existing mechanic, everyone already has insta kill finisher moves. Being able to use an AOA and not have it be your special move so everyone is unique is cool.

Honestly, the main reason why I want P5Arena is to see how the Investigation Team grew like they did in P4Arena with S.E.E.S

Also considering Joker in Smash and the success of P5R's new multiplatform port there will definitely be at least one more spin-off.
Each new Persona 5 game since Persona 5 vanilla introduced a red haired girl that represented a theological virture. Yoshizawa was Faith, Sophia was Hope, and the last Arcana is Charity. We will probably get another spin-off with a character representing charity. Which could very well be Arena.
Sumi not being in Strikers is a crime, the main reason for Persona 5 Arena is so she can get the sequel she deserves

Marie didn’t make it into vanilla P4A, but she did get into Ultimax, so I wouldn’t be too expectant for Sumi.

I know mentioning Kamashiro was more of a meme, but for an actual base game palace boss, Shido would low key be a sick character. Using his beasts and his buffed up form would be so cool.
The ONLY reason I'd ever want a Persona 5 Arena, is not for a story, but because I'd like to see the entire cast of P4A/U, alongside with 5/R's cast. there doesn't even have to be a story, they should straight up just make a fighting game with all the characters (and potentially add a lot of DLC containing other characters from older Persona games such as 1 and 2, or potentially P5 palace bosses or Royal and scramble's new characters) There is a lot of potential to be brought up. I can live without a new fighting game though, but I'm a fighting game enjoyer and I like to see something like this, especially if it's a good tag team game. (Even if characters were solo I'd be fine as long as the depth isn't as crazy as P4AU)
Agreed except I do actually want a story(the characters being grown up without interaction aside from gameplay would be a bummer). Also do not simplify it. Junpei is more interesting than all of strive combined.
@@connorrose_0447 I agree with this, although I say to simplify it a bit (while still making it feel like a Persona Arena game) because P4AU is genuinely one of the most, if not the most technical fighting game probably ever. Not saying that's a bad thing, but accessibility is a genuine issue when it comes to a game's longevity, if it's simple to pick up, it's fun and replayable, but if its simplicity doesn't go beyond a few tutorials and UA-cam videos (BBTag seems to have this issue, alongside with plenty others) then the game is just going to be far too easy and won't take much skill to play/enjoy it enough. Character diversity of course will be there, and they'll each do their own things, I just think simplifying just a little bit would benefit everyone (aside from the super hardcore P4AU players)
I don't usually like removing or toning down skill gaps, but P4AU is genuinely the hardest fighting game I've picked up and tried to master. I've mastered or have gotten fairly decent at multiple fighters, (Smash, FighterZ, BBTAG, and some 2D ones like SF) but I feel like toning it down, even if it is just a tiny bit, would greatly benefit new users that want to pick it up amd start playing online or with friends.

The two main reasons I want a p5 arena(spoilers for P5R and p4g obviously):
Bringing back darkechi and adachi and see interactions between them, and obviously akechi with the rest, him getting the dule he and joker wanted all this time.
Second reason: seeing the p4 cast all grown up, maybe nanako as well, she could get a persona as well. Could be interesting.

Joker was actually planned for Ultimax, but he was cut during development because Persona 5 too early in development, and they didn't want to limit themselves based on what they had already released

As cool as P5 Arena sounds, it is extremely unlikely considering how poorly the re-release sold. Having the worst initial sales out of all the persona games and spin-offs.
I felt like I was watching High Boi and Martincito do a collab on a Persona 5 project, and I love this. And yes I want a Persona 5 Arena already, hell even bring in characters from Royale and Strikers and you've got good spots

Ever since I played P5R I"ve been thinking about how good a P5 fighting game could be, all the thematics and characters are so cool I'd probably struggle to choose a character to play it's frankly shocking they haven't done it.

If a Persona 5 Arena were to ever happen, the one thing I would want them to do is bring back the P3 characters and also age up the P4 characters the same way the P3 ones were in P4A. As for villain characters, Shadow Shido and Shadow Akira from Strikers (who is just a straight up Power Ranger) would be fantastic editions. Also make the twins and Lavenza playable.
I'd rather have Atlus to make just a normal Persona Arena, instead of being based on a single persona game, and instead on ALL OF THEM. Having all the characters, maps, music, and features from all the games, including Persona 1 and 2. And I'd especially love if they showed love for Villain Characters aswell, imagine playing as Shido, getting your ass kicked by Kandori, the villain from Persona 1 that's INFINITELY better than him.

That anniversary was absolutely pathetic IMO. I think part of the issue is, Arc System works was the developer of P4 Arena and Ultimax. And they're just SOOOOO much busier than they were back then
Honestly a Drive Button tailored to guns would be really cool to represent the gun function especially since each character use guns that and weapons that fit their style. On the music though given that Smash alone could remix 3 tracks and make them even bigger bangers is amazing

am sure if it happens then it will be a continuation to persona 4 arena ultimax just like blazblue continuum shift is to chrono phantasma all characters from persona 4 arena will return and add 8 plus 1 clone characters but it won't have all the phantom thieves only the first 5 i know what your thinking that's less then the characters then i suggested but these slots are for characters for persona 3 and 4 so the rest of the phantom thieves plus characters from extended versions of persona 5 will be in another sequel think Blazblue Central Fiction

a third game can be given that there are 2 domains registered in the name of Atlus P5 an M can be Phantom x the other B, but it could also change to be T for the continuation R and S or Royal Strikers Battle the term survival game

Atlus/Arc system could also just rip move sets and showtimes from Persona 5 Strikers. Funk Soul hackers 2 switch port ,Funk all Persona 3/4/5 dancing games that no one asked for, and Funk Teddie socks! I want my ducking persona 5 2D fighting game. The Palace Rulers are probably gonna be the only hard part about making this game as you have to pull original movesets out of your ass for them. As they have no other sources to pull inspiration from.

I know you said F the shadow mechanic but in a hypothetical story for P5A it'd be pretty cool to see the P5 cast confront their shadow selves even if they're fake shadow selves like in P4A and P4AU.
If I had to guess why P5A didn't happen it might be because they were worried it'd feel like a rehash, like P4AU with Persona 5 characters, because on one hand it would have to be similar to P4A/P4AU but on the other hand it'd need to be different enough to not feel like a repeat of P4A/P4AU
They could even add some of the smt characters nocturne has some great options demi fiend, Hikawa, chiaki, matador and nahobino would all be awesome characters, and shit adding in some of the better known demons as characters and the lesser known demons as background flourish for cinematic supers would be awesome too
In all honesty I love that they are bringing the old persona games to modern consoles because I haven't played a real persona game unless you count strikers and shadow of the labyrinth.
I say no to bringing the bosses from P5. They had a change of heart, they wouldn't fit in the story
I'll never understand how Smash Brothers has more playable Persona 5 characters than the TWO P4 fighting games we have (P4A and BBCT, the latter of which has approximately 0 excuses)
At least with P4A they were going to add Joker at one point. There are voice lines of the announcer saying his name and his persona's name. Probably got dropped early on because of the delays Persona 5 got. I mean they don't even call him Joker just "Persona 5 Hero" and this was apparantly before his persona was decided to be Arsene because they announce his persona as being Mephistophiles.
@@xxhobocatxx2869 That's a very interesting lil tidbit. I do still wish they did SOMETHING P5 related with BBCT, given that was being actively supported when Joker got released in Smash and you can't dream of a better scenario for some juicy cross promotion.
