Same. When he hit me with the kill essay reveal, I physically recoiled like a villain in Dragon Ball getting hit with a Kamehameha, and shouted "NOOOOOOOOO!" just like one, too.

I am so glad you talk about Belial. In general, for being a videogame based on a silly little gacha game that just wants to steal my money, Granblue Fantasy is a masterclass when it comes to characters owning their sexuality. Hell, I'm a cis white guy who loves big badonkadongs alot (unsurprising with that profile pic, I know), but I want to see more guys like Belial. The absolute confidence he has while saying the worst yet hottest things is just mesmerizing. Also his theme is a banger, despite the fact that it has "call me anal retentive" as a lyric.

The fact he pulled up a megamikey drawing tutorial afterwards after we did that whole journey, nothing but the best quality content you will see on the rad chad youtube channel.
I think about this concept a lot myself. For a fighting game I'm developing, I made a character named Quwene who's story explores a somewhat different angle of this problem. She's a celebrity who's typically portrayed in over-sexual ways by the companies she works for. But rather than using her as a simple fanservice character, her story instead will focus on the mental health effects of being sexualized and how that affects your self image and how you think of your own body. As a person, being oversexualized can make you see your body less as an extension of you and more as an asset that you own and control, which can lead to a lot of weird dysphoria. It can also warp your view of sex as a concept. That's what I'd like to explore in her story. Also this video made me realize I wasn't subscribed yet. Sorry about that
7:14 Holy hell, based. You definitely nailed a lot of underlying reasons behind some icky tropes in media and real life, and your video style is comedic as always!
4:48 I just wanna say that I had a huge mouthful of instant ramen and almost spat the whole thing out when I heard that. You almost made me do a ramen spit take. Well done sir.
Not going to lie, this video is actually great. Explaining that being hot/sexual does not mean being treated sexually without your consent is a message I think a lot of people (including me) needed to hear. Thanks for the good stuff Rad Chad, the man perhaps my dad.
Honestly my thoughts on sexualisation in media is: 1. It has to not treat the women as a sexual object (as stated). 2. It has to be within consent, (in all aspects including age). 3. Preferably, it should not be overly unrealistic with proportions. 4. Preferably, it should be in a situation / setting where sexualisation is REASONABLE for the character. 5. This somewhat overlaps with number 2 and 4, but preferably it should obey whatever form of public decency is appropriate (yes I know this notion is relative and varies from society and person, but most of us agree that different situations encourage different presentation).
As someone who had a lot of these questions (and a fan of Belial), this video just made me feel so much happier, like the weight of guilt was lifted off my chest. Thank you.
I mean, Bayonetta 2 is probably what sold her to the Queer community. The first time I played it, I thought it was subtext for her being queer. Even some of the official art in the extras seem to kind of run with the idea.
This entire video is resonating so hard with me. Drawing boobs was such a worrisome task for me when I was younger, but seeing I'm not the only one who felt like it for the same reasons is nice.

There's also to note that something a lot of women me included find hot is not even the physical appearance of someone, but their * demeanor *. I don't find Belial that attractive, sure he's well built and dresses well and everything, cool, but what I like is that he's PROUD of it. He fuckin OWNS it. In the exact same way Bayonetta does. What's truly hot isn't even hotness, it's the ability to be proud of your own form of hotness.
