I’ve had mine since December. Have you noticed an odd chemical smell when you don’t drive the car for a day or two? It goes away after driving and running the HVAC but comes back once the car isn’t driven for a day or more.
@@DaRealStiffhand no have not towed with it, although I have been hearing about issues with the transmission, thankfully we have 10yr/100k on drivetrain.

We bought this exact car. It is really nice. It’s a little louder than I thought it would be. Roof glass is amazing. Carbon fiber. Very little leather on the dash, but the design makes it work out fine. The audio projects voices in front to kids in third row like the Escalade.
I love this car so much that I don't even drive my 911 Turbo anymore with a child or not. Honestly the best mid size suv that has not been fully recognized. Give this car a try and you will see. I have owned many luxury cars and by far this car even appreciates.

I find that really annoying how many manufacturers shove captains chairs down your throat when you go for the higher up trims. This should be a standalone option. NOT part of a trim level.
Yep I agree. I need an 8 passenger and. Tossed this and the Kia off the list for that reason. Captains chairs should be an option not standard on the top trims
It's about stocking volume, too many choices and you can't have them all. The bench is low volume and people that NEED 8 seats buy cheaper trims OR more expensive vehicles like Escalades. I ordered Hyundais for a dealer for years.
The BMW X7 gives u a choice of bench or captains chairs. The captains chairs dont let the 2nd row fold down all the way. The bench seats does & gives the most cargo space.
@@toddhaynes7145 If you need an 8 passenger then a midsize SUV might not be a good choice. Go get a minivan or a full size vehicle like a GMC Yukon SLE trim which has 8 passenger seating. It's better to seat 6 or 7 people in comfort versus squishing all of the second and third row occupants.
We just test drove one, and I am impressed. We bought a 2012 Genesis 3.8 premium/tech pkg trim in June 2011 (and still have it). We also bought a 2017 Sportage SX. I was as impressed with the Palisade as I was with the Genesis back in '11. We love the Sportage but now we have two full-time granddaughters (twin toddlers) and need a larger vehicle.....so we are looking. I was originally looking at a Toyota Sienna, but wow, this vehicle rocks...love the rear camera when you engage turn signals, love HUD display...I am not so keen on the push button transmission, but you can't have everything. You missed the 2nd glove box on the passenger side, above the lower glove box, above the middle trim. The vehicle I just drove had one. It was spacious and had a "cover" for a tire (if you have to transport a tire cause you don't HAVE A SPARE!)...

I’m definitely loving my Limited model. It’s an amazing value, especially when looking at some other new SUV models, i.e., Jeep Grand Cherokee L. It’s been fun to drive and provides a comfortable ride. The HK stereo system is fantastic and the HUD provides some great color options and safety features which can used with it. All in all, you won’t find another SUV, other than the Telluride, that provides you with so much for the price. It’s priced to sell and is feature rich.

We just picked up a 2021 limited AWD, after looking at the GM denali acadia and comparable Chevy Premier model, couldn't beat value of the palisade at 5k less
I had a deposit down On a Acadia Denali. Then I drove the Palisade Limited. Hands down better quality interior and technology. I didn’t think any car could change my mind from the Denali. Problem was I couldn’t make a great deal like I did with the Denali. No tears lost...I am getting a better vehicle.
I have had mine for a year and 3 months. It is without a doubt my favorite car that I have ever owned. I have had Mercedes, BMW, Audi, Chevy Tahoe, Toyota, and many others. In my opinion this one tops them all!
The interior on this Palisade is luxurious, I’ve always felt it made all other midsize SUV’s obsolete. I have read about a bad smell coming from the interior and Hyundai hasn’t figured out what’s causing it yet. According to the revue this aroma is not pleasant at all, so I hope they figure it out soon.
At about 5k miles I think mine is starting to do that. When I open the door I get a quick whiff but it disappears . It's not a terrible smell just smells odd and makes me question what I just smelled
The Palisade looks very good in white. The overall look is growing on me. I have read some recent reports around problems with the Nappa leather in the Palisade. Cars.com reports that a foul smell may be present in upmarket Limited models equipped with a light-colored interior and Nappa leather upholstery. The publication added the smell in its long-term Palisade seems to come from either the headrests or from inside the seats themselves. Other owners report the leather smells like "old socks."
Technically, they do-contented the Limited for 2021 - removing the faux-suede headliner, door "quilt" panels, and chromed front & rear skid plates and cargo sill - to make such features exclusive to Calligraphy. Fortunately, the quilt panel isn't deal-breaking and the melange headliners are actually really nice, and those exterior features are all pretty easily upgradable. I know because we did those upgrades, along with trading our wheels for the beautiful (and strangely discontinued) 2020 Limited wheels, so we could still get a Sierra Burgundy 2021 Palisade (a color not available on Calligraphy in the US).
As someone of a Limited 2020 owner be advised. There is some windnoise that may bother some on highway drives. Also a lot of people are complaining about an oder coming from the leather seats after a few thousand miles. I can't tell if its a mental thing but at 5k miles I'm started to kinda smell what has been reported. Hyundai has allegedly the worst customer service. While I do love my Palisade just be advised that Hyundai is aware of the smell but has no idea how to fix it
Best reviewers!! I wish I could take this interior and put it into the Telluride. Still not sold on the styling of the Hyundai. I also think they should just drop the "Limited" moniker on this model and just reclassify it as the SEL. It sucks they took the Alcantara headliner out and other decontenting methods all to create the Caligraphy trim, which does not add any powertrain changes. If it had a twin-turbo 6 to differentiate itself like the Explorer Platinum, I could see it.
Excellent review and presentation. I just put a deposit down on a limited and am waiting for it to come in from the port of arrival in the next two weeks. I can't say the dealers are dealing, but fortunately no markups. They sell them as soon as they get them ... as well as on preorder waiting for them to come in. Can't wait! It is a dream, I love mine but fair warning, the front windshield is prone to easily break (research it there are class action law suits in the works) and there are a high number of reported "oder" issues that arises from the leather (also research, Hyundai knows about this issue but doesn't have a real solution). I replaced my glass after 2k miles with Safelite glass as after researching I found that those that replaced with Hyundai glass, in many cases end up with the same issues. Specifically, a small rock chip quickly turns into an 18" crack that is not repairable.
@@Nicebitoftucka i replaced mine, after it was destroyed with a Safelite (aftermarket) one and no issues. That was $600 so I suppose I figure the car cost $600 more but still worth it.
We test drove the limited 2021 and a enclave..the Hyundai felt alot nicer and luxurious than the enclave which i wasnt expecting...but question what is wired android auto mean?
Minivans will always be better than three row SUVs like this. The new Sedona is absolutely amazing!! The only reason you'd need to buy a full size SUV over a minivan is if you need to tow a lot to go along with your passengers. I can't wait for a review!
@@ZapFlashD That Sedona is SO sick, I love the change in proportions they decided to go with, most notably in the shape of the hood. The zero gravity captains chairs are amazing! I hope Kia doesn't kneecap it by not adding AWD under the guise of "we don't want it potentially stealing Telluride sales", that would be really unfair.

I really wish they would offer a v6 turbo for those who like a little more power. I like the power of something like the Explorer ST. But I really like the looks of this better.
@@wangchenguang3130 Like with anything, it all comes down to preferences and needs. If you need the most cargo space out of a mid-sized three row SUV, the Traverse is your best option. If you're willing to sacrifice some practicality for comfort and features, you can't go wrong with the Korean twins.

The one thing missing to me, not that much of a big deal: foglights. Telluride has them. 😏 Still, I prefer the Palisade...
Steven Galloway the lower placement of the Palisade headlights don’t make sense to have fog lights
And foglights are no longer foglights; now unnecessary with the low headlight.

We test drove the limited 2021 and a enclave..the Hyundai felt alot nicer and luxurious than the enclave which i wasnt expecting...but question what is wired android auto mean?
It means you have to plug your phone into the USB port for it to work

How do you think the new 2021 Kia Carnival/Sedona will compare to this and the Telluride? Will you touch on it eventually?
Minivans will always be better than three row SUVs like this. The new Sedona is absolutely amazing!! The only reason you'd need to buy a full size SUV over a minivan is if you need to tow a lot to go along with your passengers. I can't wait for a review!
@@ZapFlashD That Sedona is SO sick, I love the change in proportions they decided to go with, most notably in the shape of the hood. The zero gravity captains chairs are amazing! I hope Kia doesn't kneecap it by not adding AWD under the guise of "we don't want it potentially stealing Telluride sales", that would be really unfair.
If only they gave us quad exhaust then this would be the perfect SUV. Unfortunately, that duel tale pipe on the right side only kills my OCD!

@@RIZFERD nobody is nagging! The designers did a poor job in the exhaust. Nobody wants to see a duel pipe exhaust on one side only. Looks awful. Who modifies a Palisade? That the most retarded thing i've heard.

i look at both of them at the car show but i choose palisade . it is a lot nicer

@@wangchenguang3130 Like with anything, it all comes down to preferences and needs. If you need the most cargo space out of a mid-sized three row SUV, the Traverse is your best option. If you're willing to sacrifice some practicality for comfort and features, you can't go wrong with the Korean twins.
