- Finally back with the third episode of the 1982 XR250 Rebuild Mini Series! The bike is actually done and has left my house already which means that the final episodes will be coming soon and the reveal could in February fingers crossed. Today we focus on the swing arm and the linkage which looking really rough but I will show you how to bring these parts back to life with just some time, inexpensive tools, and some spray paint! Trust me you will be surprised how well they can turn out

Next time for a similar bushing install, consider putting that bushing in the freezer for an hour or so. That would shrink it. Then you could bake/heat the linkage (torch/toaster oven/sun) to expand it. That would be optimal with that thin walled outer layer.
For plugging holes, use a bunch of toothpicks. They seal well and form to odd shapes. You simply tap them out and you end up with very clean edges. Plugs can pull freshly dried paint from around all the edges. Toothpicks protect threaded holes well and it beats using tape and razor blades! Nice work !
