Um, as it says right at the top, this was actually a collaborative effort between Marvel and DC. And in fact, it was the *first* collaboration between Marvel and DC. The first Superman/Spider-Man team-up would happen after this. But the Land of Oz issue looks like an entirely Marvel production. I loved the size of the Treasury editions, although I think DC tended to put them to better use than Marvel did, with some notable exceptions like the Conan reprint of Red Nails and the Howard the Duck collection.
I enjoyed your review. You did a great job capturing these comics. I was really impressed by the MGM OZ # 1 comic for not missing any beats of the film- aside from the songs. I felt like a kid reading it;
I hope that Whacked part too includes events from the wonderful wizard of oz
Since they split the darn thing into two movies, I would guess they would. Especially for the general audience. While _Wicked_ is the most successful broadway play, there are still people who have never seen it. So it would make sense to include scenes from _The Wizard of Oz_ in the film to give context for the audience.
Disney did that whith the live action sleeping beauty
6:55 Were they continuity errors or poor decisions? Can't decisions be bad decisions without being errors? I rarely collect comic book versions of books but I admit to making one exception.
You're totally right! If I was to adapt _The Wizard of Oz_ but keep it as the MGM version, I wouldn't have changed Glinda back to being the witch of the south for the sequel. I don't know how much I'd change after that (would Tip and Mombi stay being from the same country as Glinda if she was from the North?). I don't know if I'd keep that the same. Anyways, they certainly made things confusing for themselves!
