I have locs 2’ long. My hairdresser can shorten them to 5”. Hairdressers are so creative.
I wanted to do African American hair 30 years ago but even though my hair is kinky-curly, there are so many different curl patterns to everyone's hair type that even though I had my own hair type down, this is Mastery and more patience than I realized I could ever have, so I didn't go for the whole Cosmotolgy course. I took the esthetician course instead but ended up doing makeup artistry. I won a third place Award for Student "Fashion Evening Makeover" from the C.C.A though.

I am white but I wish with all my heart I could find someone who would take as much care with white hair as all of the black dressers do with their clients.
Surprisingly a lot of black stylists can also do white women's hair. The shop that I go to have all different clientele. So you should call around because when the stylist is licensed, they are SUPPOSED to know how to do any type of hair texture but may specialize in one particular type.

Wow!!! I love that you can help women with alopecia and your compassion to go above and beyond to help make a person feel beautiful. For this lady and the fact that she has an issue with sweating, she probably would best have a shorter band and possibly layer the front so that she may get more air. Although I'm not a fan of bangs covering the eyes, she looks beautiful. I have a sister-in-law with alopecia, and she sweats a lot.

Hey Crystal, its sad that you took time and addressed the comment about your client hiding her face. Some people just don't know what to say. Regardless if your client has a sensitive area or not, she has a right to privacy and we should respect her decision. For me, its all about watching you work and seeing the beautiful outcome! You're right about the ones who are quick to say she didn't have to say it like that...they just don't understand the dynamics of Cancers (I'm 6/26), although we're nurturers we have 🚫 tolerance for stupid shit.
Anyway, your client has a beautiful head of hair and that pony enhanced what she has. As always, great job! 😊

This is my first time experiencing this stylist. This is such a wonderful video; I love the hair style and the personality of the stylist. FABULOUS work!!!
Ughh!.. my hair was balding the crown area too. Not sure why (maybe aging, hormones or symptoms of a fungal issue of the hair follicles) but the thinning and balding was starting to spread. My 92 yr old grandmother said to use medicated Selsun Blue shampoo and treat scalp with medicated Sulphur 8. My hair eventually stopped balding and filled back in. I also take a daily multi vitamin and daily biotin. The client's natural hair is beautiful. Hopefully her crown will stop thinning, balding and recover but this types of 'lazy' hairstyles prevents you from taking care of those troubled areas of your own natural hair and scalp.
My sister has lupus and this started happening to her . Her Dr gave her some ointment and she used a medicated shampoo and oil and it completely filled in. So I agree this hairstyle is cute but does nothing to fix the problem.
She used a water based ointment which to implies that the customer is sensitive to oils. I can't use sulfur 8 because it is petroleum based. Not only I am sensitive to oils, I have a condition on my scalp that causes excessive oils which shows itself like dry scalp and/or dandruff flakes.

So talented! My daughters hair is thick, curly with some frizzy in the front. I used to get a black hairdresser to do her hair. They even straightened once! She is White/ Spanish.
This is very helpful. My hair loss is similar and just starting to grow in after 3 years of dramatic hair loss.
What are you using for new growth?
I have alopecia and am taking high blood pressure medication. Everything I put in my hair make it fall out even more. All the oils and chemicals make me lose more hair.
@@kathleenanderson6867 I have used many expensive treatments and mixed tons of different oils. One made my hair on the sides way thicker. One thickened my temple hair. But what I think worked the best is this cheap bottle of growganics ice oil that a lady at the hair store gave me for free!
Me too had same problem and cut everything, grew it back in a year. Wearing short and natural hair for now.
Biotin is a good option too. It’s in the vitamin section at pharmacy

My mother has this and she's 76. It's hard on her because she had thick and long hair coming up. When she hit her late 50s she started losing her hair in the top. I finally got her to get some wigs and she has yet to wear them. They are appropriate for a woman her age however she doesn't feel comfortable wearing it.

Many have found success today with hormonal balancing diet & supplements at local health store or a natural nutritionist. This Looks Good for an event & public facing confidence but Why put so much smoking heat on weakened stressed out hair? Seriously concern wouldn't she lose more strands faster?
