Let me start by saying I’m NOT into hair videos but I stumbled upon your videos and I can’t stop watching! 😂😂😂 I’ve been fighting to stay natural because every female in my life convinced me natural was the way to go. I’ve been going back and forth recently with whether or not to relax my hair or stay natural. You’ve helped me decide within 4 hours (2 videos) that it’s ok to prefer relaxed hair over natural especially when all I do is wear it in a protective style. I’m OVER it!! So thanks for helping me decide. You’ve also taught me more about hair in 2 videos than I’ve learned in YEARS about hair!!

The relaxer client hair turned out pretty as well as the silk press client. The relaxer client still had texture left to hair which is great. Her hair was trimmed nicely. Do what works for you.
Side note - When people have an up close look at this type of process, they start scrutinizing everything. But they got the right one with you because you come right back at them. 😁

I’m 31 and I’ve never relaxed my hair and don’t ever plan on it, but believe me when I say I am so extremely tired of MY natural hair. I’m tired of having to prepoo, then wash in sections, deep condition in sections, style in sections the wait half a day for my hair to dry. All of that work for hopefully a good style that may or may not last the week. I’m at a place in life where God is getting ready to add more projects and work to my life and the 4 hours on a Saturday used to style my hair is very unappealing. I think I’m ready to go back to heat trained (damaged) hair. I don’t care if it is damaged, natural hair gets damaged too we just don’t see the damage as easily.

I totally agree with you when it comes to styling my natural hair. I go through those same changes with my hair and the thing about it is that it may not even come out right. What I was going to do was straighten my natural hair when the weather isn’t so hot and humid.

What I’ve learned in life is EVERYTHING has risks. So, yeah you have a greater chance of a car accident than her getting cancer from a relaxer. I wish folks would just calm down. Stress is more cancerous than a relaxer. Mediation and peace to you😊.

@@Seeingisntbelieving SAY IT!!! We all pick our different poisons everyday. My last job had me so stressed I ended up with a brain tumor… but I never dyed my hair or relaxed my hair in my life! One persons poison may be relaxer and the next person’s may be gel manicures. In today’s world you can’t even live in your own house without being exposed to carcinogens. We just have to take care of our stressors, forgive people, and trust God.

Preach it, Ms. Crystal!!! There are hazardous chemicals all around us, and in nearly EVERYTHING we touch. The media focuses on what they are paid to focus on. Women have been getting relaxers for decades and we never heard such negative cancer claims until the “natural hair” trend was widely embraced and accepted. So, I couldn’t agree more-people have a right to make personal choices, and they shouldn’t be subjected to the judgement and negativity because of it.

CORRECTION: No lye (sodium hydroxide or potassium hydroxide) is left in natural soaps because of the chemical reaction (saponification) between the lye and fats. This is why you get soap as the end product. This is the same reaction that occurs when making shampoos; otherwise, no one would be able to use soaps and shampoos if the lye was still present.

The amount of lye in soap and the amount of lye that is used in relaxers is different. And lye on our tough skin is diffent from lye in our beautiful hair and scalp. Period !!you still haven't learned . No stylist using perms is going to agree . It's their bread and butter . But a natural stylist will of which I am neither .

Thank you for using your hand to smooth her relaxer instead of a thin tooth comb. Alot of women like to comb the relaxer into the hair roots which burns really bad. So thats why I went natural. But I do Flatiron my hair every winter and leave it curly during the hot seasons.

Hello, I watch your channel a lot. You do such a fantastic job on your clients hair ❤❤❤
I want to say this all in LOVE ❤! Back in the day, salons owners use to have their combs and brushes into a cleaning solution. But, nowadays, you don’t see any combs or brushes in any cleaning solution. And that’s SCARY 😧 I recently had an experience with a salon stylist using nasty combs and the blow dryer combs were filthy. When I left, I stopped by Sally’s got some products and rewashed my hair and never returned back to that salon. With my case, maybe I should have called the health department. So not everyone is as clean as you have been on your channel. We all know that you’re definitely concerned about the health care of each of your clients! Thank you for all that you do ❤❤❤

When we first started relaxing our hair years ago, we knew to base our scalp heavily with Vaseline before applying the relaxer. Now, people are speeding up the process and many are skipping this important step to help protect the scalp and minimize the amount absorbed into the body.

      1. It doesn't absorp into the body and 2. Many relaxers have a built in base to them not all of course but the need for base is not a big deal as long as you don't keep the product on for too long.

I have had the pleasure of watching many videos from Elite Hair Care, but for the first time I was taken aback by these irresponsible comments regarding hair care schedule: Relaxed hair is pretty simple??, whereas with natural hair every day is new day? every problem is a new problem, every treatment is a new treatment?? No. I find something very wrong with these comments. Its blatantly false coming from a professional. I have been happily natural for 15 years and decided I was over relaxed hair that I had for 20 years. NATURAL HAIR is SIMPLE. Now I must admit it was a journey of patience and research in the first few years but after learning my hair it became easy. And guess what? with natural hair the schedule is: clean scalp and hair, hydration and moisture, trims and consistency. THATS IT, VERY SIMPLE. Relaxed hair is complicated, why? scheduling an appointment for chemical applications every 6-8 weeks, possible burns and irritation on scalp and hair loss and a host of other possible health problems. So, I'm going to leave it at that.

I don't have a problem with my natural hair, because I understand my hair. And love my hair.
As I was younger I was comparing it to straight hair and trying to do what straight does when it wasn't for me, it was a loving journey, and to this day, if I have any issues due to hormones or stress I work through it , just as I would my body. I have learned to embrace my ancestors through my crown and listening to their spirits using THE ALMIGHTY'S POWER!!!
THERE IS ABSOLUTELY NOTHING WRONG WITH NATURAL HAIR.
if one was always natural and everyone around them were natural then there's no real issues.
Also I don't see other people self hating and destroying their hair ( generally speaking )
People of other races watch your channel and hang on to certain wording and run with it.
Such as the comment about natural hair being a problem.

    • @irresponsibleparent3
      @irresponsibleparent3 Рік тому

Other people aren't saying their ancestors live in their hair. If changing your hair was self-hate then many other people do it because they straighten, lighten, and curl their hair all of the time, they just don't feel the need to insult each other over it like a lot of black women do. And I'm saying black women because 'some of yous' are the only ones choosing to insult each other and say others don't love themselves because of the choice of hairstyle. How pedantic can you be to say some silliness like that and think anyone would take you serious. Grow up @angelvenus-africa4161 and stop claiming Africa, we don't claim you!

No it didn’t . And truth be told natural hair on most ages them

No it didn't! For her to be 10 yrs natural wow, she or her hair told a parable. It said she didn't take too good of care, like stay on top of her trims! I would of loved to know how she cared for her natural hair! Did she hide it under a wig? Did she keep it braided for months. Cuz Crystal had to cut her hair a bunch not just bcuz the client recd a relaxer. But, Crystal did her thing and did justice to this client's hair😊👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾❤❤❤❤❤❤❤! It actually looked healthier than her natural unkept hair!

The problem I have with people on this natural kick is logic. Are you telling me that relaxer has a brain and relaxer decides that it's not going to give you brain cancer, which it's closest to, oh no no no!!! It's going to skip your brain, your throat, your heart, your lungs, your liver and travel all the way down to your uterus and give you cancer!! Duh. You natural hair people are so hilarious!! 😆

No it didn’t. It was very dry, and very lifeless while natural. You can tell it needed some TLC. The relaxed hair still had texture and movement.

Totally agree, not the best application as always. Lucky for this client the "S" pattern seems to have been retained .... but color on top a relaxer in same day, concerning!?!?
