    I listened to “The Sober Life” episode and was so mesmerized by Erica’s story. I have a husband working with alcoholism and it was really good to hear her personal joys and struggles while also listening to the dynamic of your relationship with each other and alcohol. Thank you to both of you for being so open to share 🥰

    Loving everything about this. Your openness is so refreshing in the YT space. Also, I just want to say that I've been following you for 10 years and during the years I wasn't a subscriber, I would come to your channel to see your content. People who feel connected to you will find you despite of the algorithm. Screw the algorithm, you're awesome Ingrid!!

    I don't know why these One Take Tutorials have been like therapy sessions for me lol. Listening to how you used to negatively self talk to yourself is exactly the headspace I've been in for the past year. With dealing with a newly diagnosed eating disorder and battling anxiety/depression, its so hard to have a positive mindset most days. These videos really show me that I need to show myself some grace and compassion and that I can take little steps to get better and not just expect it to happen over night. Thank you for the encouraging words and vulnerability, Ingrid. It helps more than you know

    My focus for 2020 is similar...just trying to focus on the things that make me happy. Get back to the things I enjoy, control the chaos that I can, and see what happens. Last year was one of the worst years I have ever had so now that things are a little bit better balanced, I want to just work on peace and being happy.

    There’s too much in the video that I want to comment on but I’m going to try to keep it general- thank you so much for sharing. I’m 33, married, a mom of a toddler. I recently came off my antidepressant after ten years and it has given me a huge push to re-evaluate my life and myself. I’m finally taking time to get back into creative outlets and joyous activities. I’m so glad you mentioned the artists way- I immediately paused the video and dug it out of the closet because I’ve had it for years and never read it. Also so happy to hear about Erica’s sobriety-I didn’t listen to podcast but plan to! My husband and I are both 8 years sober 👍🙂 keep up the great journey! Happy for you.

    I have been on a similar journey this year, especially regarding creativity. I challenged a core belief that I didn't realize I carried- that I don't deserve to make the art I want to make, or make enough money doing it. I always thought I had to sacrifice who I am in order to get my basic needs met, which is so wrong. I deserve to thrive, express my true creativity and enjoy my life and my career.

    This is SO unrelated to the main idea of the video, but Ingrid you were one of the first youtubers I really watched and truly fell in love with AND inspired me to try a makeup brand....so not only have I followed you on your journey for at least the past five years, I also discovered that NARS eye primer because of you and every time I think of NARS I think of you. It’s a good thing, I promise 😂 but thank you so much for this video and for sharing such intimate parts of yourself with all of us. Love you ❤️❤️❤️

    I wanted to thank you for recommending The Artist's Way because I picked it up from your rec, and it was just as perspective shifting as you said it would be. I think I'm still in the tub of brown water and I'm not really in a position to pull the plug yet, but I know how much I want to. TAW definitely helped me realign with what I really want, and I'm trying really hard to stay un-blocked as much as possible. I also love the idea that the internet is just your platform, not the work itself. That's such a great way to look at it! Such an important distinction! Congrats on coming this far and enjoy your year of Celebration!!

    I found it kind of funny how a bunch of youtubers all of a sudden started hussling once the algorithms changed. Many are those who disappeared for like over a year, Ingrid included. There was a good year where there were barely any videos from Ingrid, youtubers got comfortable with where they were and stopped trying. So in a way I’m all for the algorithms because it should be competitive. It makes youtubers try harder.

    • @rubyrayne8
      @rubyrayne8 4 роки тому +1

      That’s a good point. There were some that continued to work hard, but many popular YTers stopped uploading on YT. I know many had other things going on, but I also think that some of them would come back and expect the same amount of views. And would get mad they weren’t getting them and blame it on the algorithm. With little accountability. And to me that’s annoying. Also I think when ppl create for the algorithm it might spike in the beginning but it’s kinda soulless and a lot of ppl feel that after a while. I’m very attracted to ppl who work hard and follow their heart, I think many of us are. I’m glad Ingrid is going to do that. (Although I don’t think she uploads regularly so I’m not sure if she chasing the algorithm was more in her mind than in practice.)

    • @Keepinitreal55
      @Keepinitreal55 4 роки тому +1

      @@rubyrayne8 I definitely noticed an increase in posts from Ingrid since the algorithm change. Before that it was like couple videos a year. It's like they didn't care about their viewers at all. But now that they all started being affected by the change, they do blame the algorithm as if it's against them, but really it rewards those who post more and invest in their youtube job. Can't just have easy views like they once did.

    TY for sharing, Ingrid! Your story about the dirty bath water - pulling the plug - et al - that applies to me personally, in changing my home after 8 years of becoming increasingly unhappy and even physically sick (as well as more & more desperately broke) in my former apt, to a place that I love every. single. day! "Proof": I've only needed to take emergency medicine once since I moved in November, and that was because of a traffic stop by a cop - NOT anything here :>

    Ingrid, i admit for the past months i was like “what’s wrong with ingrid, her past videos was so fun n so vibrant n now she is just a ball of depressing vibes”.. and everytime i got ur video notification i was like ok let me try again n still the depressing vibe was there n i got kind of frustrated n gave up.. and this video got me in a big touchy way (yes i get touchy feelings with your vid because i love u so much) and now i get it. because u r a deep person. u won’t settle unless u clean every mess 100% because that is just how meticulous u are. u want to know what the root problem is so u can fix it flawlessly. and that is one rare quality a human can have. most people just go on even crazier and reckless. u will never be that kind of human and that is why we love u. can’t wait to see your next content ingrid and BIG congrats on your self journey n your amazing podcast. you are amazing ingrid, and with that brain of yours, u just need a little push with less distraction n you’ll do more greater things in future i’m very sure of that. love u girl! xoxo from Malaysia.. 😘

    Can you share some recommendations for Paris? I’ll be going for a few days this May and am putting together a google map of stores or places to visit! Where is the sweatshirt from? Second hand, correct?

    A walk without your phone sounds dangerous to me, especially in New York. Just don’t use it if you choose, but at least have something where someone can find you in the case of something bad happening.
